AAA Mini Line - 07/19/08 (#842)
Recapped: 07/19/08
TripleMania recap video package to the Spanish language version of Eye of the Tiger. So weird. So, yea, this recaps the two matches they're showing this week before they show it. AAA! To be fair, it's pretty good as these things go. Somehow, this ends with Konnan with a bottle of champagne and singing "New York, New York". I dunno, but great.
Jesus Zuniga sets up a replay of the three way trios match. Jesus still thinks Danielson is "Tigre Americano." Maybe he is, who knows, he's a man of many talents. Match is cut down a couple minutes.
AD FOR AAA USA SHOWS! They made it with one week to spare! Looks like the promoters just bought time on Galavision, smart.
Jesus is now with Mari and Gran Apache. Mari's wearing a Apache style black cap over her head so we can't see the baldness yet. Bad echo on this segment. They discuss the match, Fabi and Billy Boy. The highlight is Mari's eye roll while her father goes on and on.
After the match is shown, Fabi's joined Mari and Gran Apache. Gran Apache yells at Jesus for spoiling his family portrait. What about Billy? Gran Apache is not so concerned about Billy being there - he's not family. All Gran Apache wanted is his family to be other, and if he had to give up his hair to do it, that's okay. Jesus tries to ask Gran Apache which daughter is his favorite, and of course that's not happening.
Noti AAA
- AAA movie trailer
- AAA hard at work on a website
- what do fans think about Billy Boy and Fabi Apache? Let's ask them. Someone
does ask "Where's the mom?" which is great.
Vignette: Who's this mystery man getting ready with Silver King masks all around? Oh, wait, gave it a way.
Match 1: Bobby Lashley, Electro Shock, Kenzo Suzuki (c)
vs Chessman, La Parka Jr. (c), Silver King
Palacio de los Deportes, 06/13/08
Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 12:33
Notes: Electroshock looks like a Predator whatever reason. Kenzo has
his kid out in mini Kenzo gear and dancing with him. He even helps him stand on
the desk! Charly music's plays third, and he's wheeled out by a random person.
No makeup on, but he's got a microphone to say high to the crowd. He can't wrestle
because of the legion breaking his leg, but he's got a replacement - Silver
King. I like how they have a "Luchador Sorpresa" video. They'll get a
lot of use out of that. Silver King, back to wearing his mask, enters to Bad Medicine.
Christian Mijares and his belts walk out with Silver King. (Mijares walks
him to the ring, poses, and leaves.) Chessman pulls Charly out to the stage
(he'd wheeled to the back) to celebrate one more time before walking to the
ring. Lashley's out next, with lots of WWE footage and an imitation of his
fireworks there. Parks is out last, with tons of fireworks and dancing zombies
(which storm the ring before he gets there.) The rudos are all confused. So is
Parka, kinda - he watches them dance more than actually dancing himself. Break.
Piero is ref. Rudos jump the tecnicos after the captains are announced. Mostly punching, but Lashley scoops Silver King out and presses him onto the top rope early. Generally, he seems to have to be lead thru what's going on by Kenzo. Kenzo pulls Parka in and suplexes him. He's done for now. Elector pulls in Sliver king, light tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, and Electro adds the dancing kneelift. Silver King takes a running Lashley clothesline. Chessman brought into be chopped. Chessman corner whipped, Kenzo kinda whipped towards him but stops and chops him instead of any sort of charge. Lashley whipped in for a clothesline. Electro adds a running senton. Kenzo and Electro hold Chessman for Lashley, who sets up with a three point stance, and spears him over. Announcers go wild over the move they see every week. Spear for Silver King. Parka in and dancing, and not realizing Lashley is behind him. Parka tries to get away, but Lashley holds on to him. Parka's punches has no effect. Stomping on his foot works, but the other two end up grabbing Parka. Lashley sets up for another three point stance, Parka moves, and Kenzo and Electro take it. Chessman superkicks Lashley, and Silver King is able to punch him down to one knee. Everyone dropkicks him to knock him down for the first time. Lashley rolls out. Rudos huddle on the outside while the tecnicos celebrate. Tecnicos showcases. Silver King goes thru Electro and Kenzo, and wows the announcers more than the fans. Chessman gets tagged in and wants Lashley. Lashley ends up ambushing him as he points to the crowd. Chessman is very slow getting up, and then jut gests clotheslined again. Lashley tags out to Electro there, so they're totally protecting him. Chessman gets the best of Electro and Kenzo, though (just like with Silver King), the rudos get in their fair share of offense. Lashley comes back in to get some cheap clothesline while Chessman is looking away, and it take some effort Chessman to give him a side slam. Chessman tags in Parka, who's more excited about this then the last time he faced Lashley. Parka gets the best of hi after a missed corner charge. Drop toe hold, legdrop, and Lashley rolls out. Kenzo takes up for him, but puts his head down too soon on a whip and Parka kicks him. Kenzo starts to get up, Parka gooses him, and Kenzo gets out. parka follows with a slow tope. Other tecnicos meet Electroshock coming in the ring, and double backdrop him - clip! - and Electro's (now) landed on his feet. Tecnicos chop him down anyway. Double whip, double leapfrog, Silver King misses a clothesline but Chessman does not miss his superkick. Silver King does the Silver King dive! Chessman clothesline Lashley and calls for a dive of his own - tope, Lashley not catching him at all. I don't know if he messed up, or if they idea is he's just so strong a tope can't knock him down. Silver King is immediately over and clubbing him. Both tecnicos kick him for a moment, and Chessman wanders off - ah, to get up an already set up table. Electro's put on top of the table, and Chessman and Silver climb a raised seating platform next to the aisle. There's a railing cutting it from the aisle. Silver King goes over it, in with the fans. Chessman stands up top - moonsault thru the table, but Lashley pulled Electro out of the way. That 's not so fun. Lashley almost pulled him away about ten second sooner, I guess he was baiting them. Chessman broke the table with his knees, which can't be fun. Silver King leaps at Lashley, who doesn't catch him much but does lift him back up and throws him on top of Chessman. Kenzo and Parka inside. Parka gives Kenzo a flapjack (Kenos doing most of the work.) Parka covers Kenzo, Kenzo kicks him away, Kenzo swings at Parka, Parka moves, Kenzo stops just short of hitting Piero, Parka grabs Kenzo from behind, Kenzo fouls him with a mule kick. Piero missed it. One two three.
Rudos celebrate. Replays.
Promo: Konnan shows us Dos Y Tres's pictures of Roldan's broken noise, and laughs about it. That's what you get for getting int he ring. He makes fun of Cibernetico's Iron Man outfit, and points out the official referee didn't count the pin, so the finish shouldn't count. There's that small detail of Konnan punching out the official referee, but whatever.
Promo: from his hospital bed, Roldan cuts a promo on Konnan and shows us his broken nose.
Cibernetico and Roldan (sometime later, judging by his nose and not being the hospital) talk to Jesus about the title match. Zorro and Konnan weren't enough to beat Cibernetico. Lots of talking, the match, and even more talking. So much filler!
Proxima Semana: AAA stuff. They're not too specific.
Match 2: Mesias vs Vampiro
in a hardcore match
Palacio de los Deportes, 06/13/08
Winner: DRAW
Match Time: 14:42
Notes: Since we saw him do it a dozen times during the Puerto Rico
video package, Mesias spits up blood here once. Vampiro's using Back In Black.
Arturo Rivera does the introduction for him, and just rips him for three
minutes. It's odd. He borrows a camera to shoot the crowd again, though they
clip that up (when he drops the camera?) Vammp stands on the barricade to pose
with the fans. Copetes is ref. Lots of crowd shots, all in slow motion. I have
no idea what happened. Vamp is wrestling in a TripleMania t-shirt, at least for
now. Break.
They put up a "Tiempo: 15:00 min", so there's your finish. Why do I need to recap the rest? Chop battle goes nowhere. Vamp more interested in looking at the crowd. Vamp headlock, Mesias back suplexes him onto his head, Vamp pops to his feet and shakes his head. And his finger. Face to face. Mesias punches Vamp, and that does more damage than the suplex. Ricky shoves Vamp in the corner, charges, and knees the turnbuckle when Vamp moves out of the way. Somehow, Mesias still beats Vamp to punches. Whip, clothesline misses, Vamp lands a big boot. There's light tubs and pans on the apron, which must've happened during the clips. Vamp rolls out, and grabs the metal popcorn cans FdT used a couple weeks ago. He throws about four in the ring and goes to hit Mesias, who's on the apron for some reason. Mesias blocks and snaps Vamp over the top rope. Vamp rolls out, and Mesias smashes the can in his head. Cookie sheet shots to the head, a lot of 'em. Slow motion crowd shot. Why are these in slow motion? It makes them even more weird. Vamp is magically in the ring, and Mesias is bringing in a ladder. Point of the ladder to Vamp's right arm, many times. More metal box shots, more cookie sheet shots. Mesias sets up a ladder so it is sitting across a post and a turnbuckle, and grabs Vamp,, who's too hurt to actually get up. Mesias gets him up, and hits him with a can. Why pick him up? Mesias ranting to the camera. Vamp set up in the corner for punches and chops. Announcers selling all this huge, though not coming off that way to me. Corner whip, towards the ladder, Vamp stops short, Mesias charges, Vamp tilt-a-whirl, Mesias escapes and fouls him. "Tiempo: 10:00 min" is exactly on time, though we've had those crowd shot edits. Announcers discuss how the foul is okay in this type of match. Mesias taunting various people, then charging Vamp - and Vamp knocks him head first into the ladder. Hey, how about not zooming in on Mesias while he takes his blade out, that'd be great. Copetes checks on him and tells Vamp to take a time out. Vamp opts to go grab a chair, but he's in no particular hurry here. Mesias up, just in time for Vamp to throw the chair at him. What do you know, Mesias is bleeding! Vamp grabs a table, holds it on arm, and rams Mesias into with his other arm. Vamp props that table up by a ringpost, and gets in a cookie shot as Mesias wanders around the ring. Running bit boot on the floor. Vamp grabs Mesias by his hair, and brings him back in. Halfway point!
Box shot. Vamp goes for another chair, throws it in, walks in slowly, and get a box upside the head. Vamp presents his back for Mesas to hit, and so he does. Powerbomb! Mesias rips the front of Vamp's t-shirt, and he's nice enough to roll over on his stomach and take off the rest of his shirt while Mesias goes for the light bulb tubes. Vamp gets up on all fours, and quickly crawls closer to Mesias as he swings - light tube broken on the back. Glass is everywhere, and Vamp urgently says something to Copetes. Crowd shot. Vamp is bleeding quite bad from the back. Mesias hits him in the (covered) leg instead, which is probably for the best. Hey, look, Mesias has a blade in his hand and is holding to Vamp's forehead! I don't even know if we're supposed to notice or not, but it's completely impossible not to see Mesias blade him. And after it, that's when they go to a crowd shot. Vamp's bleeding form the front and the back as the "Tiempo 5:00" message comes up, actually at 5:10 to go. Mesias uses a shard of the light tube to enlarge the cut on Vamp's head. Some how, Vamp slightest his hand fighting off, so that's another place he's bleeding from, and that one's really bugging him from the looks of it. Mesias cleans up the outside and sets up the tables for the final spot to come. They never got to do whatever spot it was with the ladders. Mesias sets up a table, rushes in to hit Vamp with a chair (Vamp's still far more concerned with his left hand) and rushes out to get another table and set that up. Three minutes! Mesias has to work a little after at setting that table. He finally gets it up, just in time to take a jumping spin kick from Vamp. Vamp looks at his left hand again. It probably really does hurt quite a bit, but it doesn't say much for the massive bleeding on his back when he keeps looking at his hand. Arturo says "2 minutes to go!" on the arena mic with 2:40 left. Mesias and Vampiro have an unspoken agreement to go back in the ring without fighting. Mesias grabs Vamp and set up for a powerbomb, but Vamp eventually backdrops him (just clear of most of the glass.) the Sect rushes to the ring, kicking down Vamp as they hit the actual two minute mark. Mesias tells directs them - to leave? Everyone but Ozz does, huh. Ozz gets hold Vamp himself, while Mesias readies his insta-flame. ("Tiempo: 1:00 minute" at 1:18 - also, no one's tried a pinfall yet.) Vamp ducks, Ozz takes it. Vamp boots down Mesias as the announcers scream about 1 minute being left, six seconds early. Vamp goes out, stands in front of the announcers. Arturo Rivera stand sup for whatever reason, and Vamp punches him (in the shoulder, as Arturo turned before getting hit.) Vamp goes back in the ring, and Mesias throws a chair at him. Mesias brings them both to the corner, and another crowd shot happens. Vamp brings Mesias to the apron, and they take turns hitting each other there. "Tiempo: 0:10", and the announcers count it down from there. Both kinda fight, kinda stand there on the apron. Looks like Mesias throwing Vamp thru, then Vamp kinda bulldogs them thru at the time limit ("15:00", but more like 14:42)
Crowd boos the finish, once they figure out what it is. Mesias and Vamp get back to their feet after a minute, and start fighting more.., while they drunkenly stumble around. Security finally pulls Mesias away and the doctor checks on Vamp, who's looking better once he get a towel. Replays. Ozz really took that flame in the face/chest, and everyone forgot about it two seconds later. Not fun for him.
Music video to close.
