AAA Mini Line - 03/01/08 (#822)
Recap: 03/11/08
Interview: Gran Apache
Match 1: Ayako Hamada, La Diabólica, Mari Apache (c)
vs Estrellita, Fabi Apache (c), Sexy Star
Plaza de Toros El Relicario, Puebla, Puebla, 02/01/08
Winner: Rudas
Match Time: 10:28
Notes: No entrances. Pepe Casas is ref. Mari has her belt. Break before
the match. Tecnica showcase for 3:00, beatdown for about 3:00, and Estrellita
stops it by giving Ayako a STO on a corner charge. Everyone had gone back to
their corners before it, so it was just about getting a turn to get a move in.
Estrellita ends up leading Ayako into a Fabi superkick to get the chaos of the
comeback started. Tecnicas got triple roll ups for two counts, then Fabi accidentally
got her partners with a missile dropkick to give the rudas back the
advantage. Non-Mari rudas laid out the non-Fabi tecnicas, but spent too long
going to the rope and took top rope 'ranas for another big two count. Sexi Star
and Diabolica did not mix well on theirs. Apaches ran in just enough to end up
back outside, Fabi getting an apron dive spinning headscissors (shown in slow
motion - maybe they missed it originally and edited it in?) Diabolica gets the approaches
with a thru the ropes tope con giro. Sexi Star takes forever waiving
to the crowd before going for her dive and lands a plancha. After a pause to
wait for everyone to get back up, Ayako gets whipped towards the corner,
hops to the apron, climbs to the rope, and moonsaults to the whole pile.
Estrellita is last, and spends a lot of time pointing this out. Tornillo looks a
bit wild but connects with the pile. Apaches back in, and Fabi ends up taking
Mari's foot to her face on a wheel kick. Michinoku Driver of death, one two
three. This seemed like a good match.
Gran Apache arrives to celebrate with one daughter, and yanks yup the other one by her hair. Looks like he's going to do something, so out runs Billy Boy with a chair. He swings, Gran Apache bails, Fabi takes it. Billy is immediately very concerned. The Doctor comes out to check on Fabi rather quick. It takes a while for him to get there, with Ayako falling in his path and trying to block his way to the ring by swinging out her leg. That's randomly evil. Fabi is bleeding a lot. She's quickly put on a stretcher and carried out.
Interview: Billy is already apologizing to the camera! He just was out at the ring, he's in the next match, where does he have the time?
Match 2: Jesse, Nygma, Polvo de Esterllas, Yuriko vs Angel Mensajero, Argenis, Billy Boy, Pimpinela Escarlata
Plaza de Toros El Relicario, Puebla, Puebla, 02/01/08
Winner: Night Queens
Match Time: 12:27
Notes: Hijo de Tirantes is ref. This starts with the Night Queens rushing
the tecnicos with cookie sheets. Night Queen color of the week: BLUE. I
think Angel Mensajero is here (in blue "AAA" tights I bet he wished he
used more often) to replace Casandro. He at least fills that role in the match.
Comeback at 3:00, when Pimpi kinda misses on a flying sunset flip, but they go
with it anyway. Argenis looks better than last week, but still nothing special. I
don't quite see the point of being a second (or third rate) rate Mistico as a
gimmick. Rudos start their second beatdown at ~9:30, including pulling up Billy
and Argenis on pin attempts, so I don't know what they're doing here. Jesse
argues about it, good for him. Double teams immediately go wrong, and Billy and
Argenis end up with dives. Jessy takes basically a tope con giro onto nothing
bump out of the ring when he misses a charge on Pimpi, and he even hits his feet
on the ropes on the way out to make his angle of decent a bit more painful.
Somehow, he manages to get up in time for Pimpi to get an apron tope con giro on
him. Angel gets Yuriko with a tope, though eh also catches his feet. Nygma and
Billy are left in the ring, and Billy ahs everything wrapped up with an inverted
Gori special when Fabi Apache runs in and gives him a chair shot. Crowd
is very displeased as Nygma gets the three count. Argenis takes a vase to the
head, and Hijo de Tirantes manages to slap the mat without hitting any of the
broken parts of the case.
Fabi's got a big bandage on her forehead, and his face still has lots of dried blood. Fabi yells at Billy from outside the ring and make it clear that was about the chair shot from before. Billy tries to apologize, and gets slapped. Fabi's pretty hysterical. I think Pimpi is upset about Billy's women problems costing him this match.

Interview: Guapito and Decnis are totally unconcerned about the Clowns, and will tell you about it if you don't believe them. Decnnis also makes sure to tell us the Guapos are unique and original - don't accept any substitutes.
Match 3: Decnnis, Scorpio Jr. (c), Zumbido vs Killer
Clown, Psycho Clown (c), Zombie Clown
Plaza de Toros El Relicario, Puebla, Puebla, 02/01/08
Winner: Psycho Circus
Match Time: 8:16
Other Match Notes: Guapito only has one girl? But she is caring his
suitcase, which has important things (like his sunglasses.) Where is that
cameraman located to get a shot looking up at Guapito? (Oh, he's just holding
the camera really low.) They've totally forgotten how to spell Psycho Circus
this week. Zombie picks a child out of the crowd to steal, but security gets
him back. Piero is ref, but I think this one may be beyond him. Break before
this one gets going.
Guapos want handshakes, and get - empty gloves as the clowns slide their hands out. That's just confusing enough to work! Beatdown. Arturo thinks this is going six minutes. Decnnis has gone back to dark hair. The blond is still there at the end, most of it's just grown out and cut off. He gets killed by the Clowns. The only real danger to the Clowns not making the time limit is their instance on stopping to dance in between killing guys. Guapito keeps coming in, only to be saved from death by a Guapo taking up the clowns attention instead. After Zumbido's dropped hard on a powerbomb, there's no one left. Guapito tries to get Killer Clown's attention to use the fork, but by the time he's ready to use it, the clowns have him surrounded. The fork is taken away, and Guapito is press slammed. Clowns splash Guapito and each other! Piero drags Guapito to safety by his legs, which is probably not that helpful. Guapito gets some medical help and is carried to the back. Guapos get a moment of offense, when Decnis' plancha is caught by all three, and the Guapos knock the pile down. Brawling, which probably won't sever them well long term, but manages to work for the moment. Guapos get it together for some 3 on 1s, working over Psycho clown and then Zombie. Killer barely sells Scorpio's punches and knees on the apron, then knocks Scorpio down with a big clothesline. Clown toss Scorpio from the ring, and Zombie gives him a jumping stomp. Decnnis takes a shoulder powerslam from Zombie for one pin. Killer ignores Guapito's attempt at a headscissors and boots him in the head. Legdrop, one two three. Completely fair count by Piero, who gives a "what could I really do?" look to the announcers.
Interview: Halloween can't just let himself be introduces, can he. Halloween blabs. Chessman isn't get a rematch, he's the only star from Tijuana, and so on.
Match 4: Ron Killings, X-Pac, Zorro vs Juventud Guerrera, Laredo Kid, Oriental
Plaza de Toros El Relicario, Puebla, Puebla, 02/01/08
Winner: Legion
Match Time: 13:33 (7:22+6:11)
Other Match Notes: Return of the Laredo Kid. Alicia's mini skirt is a
bit less than mini. Konnan is out behind Ron Killings. Rudos jump the tecnicos.
Konnan interferes like it a 4 on 3 match. They're showing a wide angle as part
of the Dos De Tres ad when the comeback begins to start, 4:30 in. Hijo de
Tirantes get to do a long nonDQ when Oriental gives X-Pac a low sliding
dropkick. Tecnico showcase goes thru a break. Juvi gets Zorro clean with the Juvi
Driver, but Alicia distracts Hijo de Tirantes. After about ten seconds, Juvi gets
his attention back, covers again, and Juvi kicks out. Alicia comes in and out
for no reason. Juvi gives Zorro a kinda-brainbuster, but Hijo de Tirantes starts
to count, Alicia puts a foot on Hijo de Tirantes back and gives him an under
skirt look. Juvi can't believe Hijo de Tirantes is costing him like this, and
gives him a shove. Alicia gets the apron, Juvi gets her, but Alicia gets a way
while Juvi is debating what do to. Juvi looks at Alicia for a long time and not
Zorro - perfect for Zorro to get his back suplex faceslam. One two three, maybe a
tad bit fast by Hijo de Tirantes. Zorro is dead, but a winner, which is better
than when he used to be dead and a loser.
Interview: La Secta promise revenge on the Legion and the Hell Brothers, and suggest Mesias is on vacation.
Match 5: Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz (c) vs Brazo de Plata,
Elegido (c), Mascara Divina
Plaza de Toros El Relicario, Puebla, Puebla, 02/01/08
Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 9:13
Other Match Notes: They've got the Atomicos belts but no Espiritu.
They're using the entrance graphics as background to the lineups, which is a
nice idea Piero is ref. breka between entrances and match. Showcase to start,
Elegido first, so they waste no time in pulling his trunks. Beatdown at 5min.
Doesn't last long. Lots of the Sect selling for the tecnicos. Porky does an
apron plancha onto Ozz and Divina. Pierroth gets bumped out of the ring by Escoria. Elegido tries to powerbomb Scoria, Scoria takes off his mask (which
takes some effort), then gives him a kick to the face. Cover, Piero makes a
fast count for the pinfall.
Vignette: Bello Greco talks about Babe Sharon's passing and sends out well wishes to his family from all of AAA.
Vignette: Pickin' up Japanese people at the airport. Why does Morishima have a Spurs jacket?
Match 6: Abismo Negro (c), Kenzo Suzuki, Morishima vs Charly
Manson, Chessman,
Marufuji (c)
Plaza de Toros El Relicario, Puebla, Puebla, 02/01/08
Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 16:11
Other Match Notes: The NOAH guys don't get much of a reaction entrance.
Break before this gets started. Pepe Casas and Hijo de Tirantes are the refs.
Odd combo of captains.
Announcers play a rousing game of "Japanese people we know." It's a Curry Man promo in Spanish! Morishima gets a near fall on a sunset flip blocked into a sit. Chessman break sit up, Morishima rolls out, but Chessman calls him back in. Just as they're about to do the test of strength, Kenzo sneaks in and forearms him. Chessman and Kenzo have quite the fired up chop battle. Kenzo wins clean, and then uppercuts Chessman to make it clear. Chessman rallies back to superkick Kenzo, give Abismo three tilt-a-whirl backbreakers, and superkick him into outer space. Morishima steps in, and Chessman almost falls down after trying to give him a clothesline. Superkick staggers him, but Morishima ducks the second one and tosses Chessman out. Crowd shot as Morishima starts working over Charly, and back in time for Charly to take a clothesline. The other tecnicos are getting worked over on the outside. Morishima stands on Charlie's chest as we see Chessman, in the midst of many chairs. Abismo brings some of those chairs inside, because we'd gone an hour without chair shots. Chair to Marufuji. Chair to Clary's read, which allows Hijo de Tirantes time to warn him. Kenzo throws a chair at Marufuji on the floor. Morishima chokes Charly on the ropes. Chessman runs in, right into a Kenzo flapjack. Kenzo adds his knee drop, but can only get two. They take it outside, as Abismo works over Marufuji inside. Questionably low blow legdrop does not get a DQ. Kenzo comes in, just to slap Marufuji in the face. Morishima works over near the barricade, then comes in to help Kenzo stand around as Abismo yanks around Marufuji's moth. Head an arm choke on the ropes? Huh. Japanese rudos work over Chessman with a running clothesline, running slap combo. Kenzo's really in a slapping move. Abismo puts on a toe hold. I think he was watching UFC continuously during his off time, just not very closely. Abismo and Kenzo stare t Charly as he crawls in the ring, while Morishima gets a few more forearms on Chessman. Chops for Charly. Chops for Marufuji. Morishima and Kenzo wander back to their corner, which is awful nice of them. Charly gets in a few shots on Abismo, but Hijo de Tirantes distracts him with a warning about closed fists and Abismo gets in a punch. Hijo de Tirantes is more annoying than usual this week. And then they repeat the bit! And then they repeat it again! Okay, this time Abismo academy gets Hijo de Tirantes, and he deserved it. Chop/forearm fight goes on, no man having much of advantage. Charly jumps over Abismo's leg sweep, gets one of his own, one two Kenzo is almost late because he had to a running elbow drop. Abismo runs into a Charly tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, one [pause] two [pause] Charly stops covering to punch Abismo. That was Hijo de Tirantes again, which is not helping him. I think Kenzo forgot he was supposed to break it up, because he shows up to elbow drop it just after. Charly moves, Kenzo gets his partner, Charly covers both, Tirantes counts one and then stops counting for no reason. We all watch Morishima climb the ropes - easy second rope splash gets his partners, since Charly had a day and half to see that one coming. People roll out, Chessman comes back in, but his clothesline still can't get Morishima down. Neither can Charly, neither can Marufuji. Charly comes up with a plan - triple dropkick knocks Morishima out of the ring! Tecnicos celebrate a small victory, and Abismo takes out Marufuji with enziguri. Dropkick for Charly, Chessman misses an elbow drop on Abismo, Abismo charges him, Chessman scoops him up on his shoulders, Abismo slips free, Chessman superkicks him. Abismo slowly falls out of the ring, Chessman runs off the far ropes, tope connects. Charly left in with Kenzo, pescados is caught, Kenzo slams him, but Charly avoids the wacky kneedrop. Dropkick to the knee, and Kenzo's out before Charly can get on his hold - so he gets a tope instead. Marufuji and Morishima in. Marufuji in with a lots of chops, off the ropes, right into a Morishima's jumping butt bump. Corner whip, cartwheel clothesline (!). Morishima goes up, , crowd gets loud for this again, and his missile dropkick connects. Back suplex setup, Marufuji slips free, superkick, Shiranui! Abismo dives in to break up the pin. Morishima goes out, whip, things kinda going in slow motion, Marufuji trips up Abismo, dropkicks him in the knee, and then dropkicks him in the head, one two no. Abismo misses a clothesline, Marufuji misses a superkick, Abismo kick, double underhook, Marufuji tries to turn out of it but ends up just back in it. Abismo lifts Marufuji up for the Martinete Special, but Morishima distracts him with the pat on the back. Abismo figures it's Charly or Chessman behind him and back elbows, Morishima clotheslines Abismo completely on purpose and doesn't seem sad about it. Superkick, Shiranui, Charly helps cover, one two three.
Kenzo is immediately into argue, he and Morishima shove, and Morishima lifts him up for a big chokeslam. Zorro rushes out, cane to the back to break that up, cane to Morishima's head, and Morishima is unaffected. Zorro RUNS! Zorro is a bright man. Kenzo, not, misses a clothesline and eats one form Morishima. Ron Killings is in, Ron Killings takes a clothesline. I think the same thing happens to X-Pac, but we don't really see it. Zorro decides to stay a safe distance away until Konnan shows up. Chessman and Charly manage to run them out of the ring.
Prez Roldan arrives and pats himself on his back for his two surprises - Morishima turning this week, and what's going to happen next week. The two sides face off to end the show. Zorro grabs a broom and hands it to Killings to use as a weapon as they're backed into the entrance. Replays and we're out.
