AAA Mini Line - 02/02/2008 (#818)
Recapped: 02/02/08

This the second year in review show, featuring studio conversation pitching it to matches.

Match 1 Mesias vs Chessman in the finals of the AAA World Heavyweight Tournament
Toreo de Cuatro Caminos, 09/16/07

(19:13 = 15:53+3:20) - bad! This is Mesias ladder dive gone horrible wrong.

Escoria is in studio to set up the next match. It sounds like they remixed La Secta's music again, or it just sounds really different in studio. It's also only 90 seconds long, but this segment is much longer. Espiritu (in gear, and not a suit) claiming he got fouled and was generally cheated, of course. He needs practice on finding the right camera to look into, but he looks cary once he finds it.

Match 2: Espiritu vs Escoria vs Cuervo vs Ozz vs Zorro vs Charly Manson vs Cibernetico in a dome cage match, loser loses hair
Toreo de Cuatro Caminos, 09/16/07

(15:54 = 9:21+6:33) plus the post match angle. Why did Zorro start hitting his own teammates at first anyway? Probably should've known how this turn was going to work out when the moment of Zorro turning wasn't Zorro hitting someone, but Konnan ordering the troops to go beat up the Hell Brothers and Zorro just acting like he was one of them.

Noti AAA. 2007 Year in Review
- Mesias did NOT defend his title that one time, and Zorro earned himself a title shot instead.
- Night Queens debuted
- Guapos faced Alan and Intocable in a bull terrier match. Luckily, this was the only one.
- Parka and Octagon defended their tag team titles once this year! The highlights show make it seem like the tecnicos completely dominated the match until Electro piledrived Octagon. The La Parka Jr. injury gets 2 seconds.

Abismo Negro runs in on an interview segment, which is kinda given away by his music playing for a minute before hand. Announcers were talking about the Vipers, and Abismo runs into insist he's the leader. Dr. Morales isn't so sure. Listen to the man, Abismo! Always sad when they don't see the coup coming. Abismo hangs out with Arturo instead.

Match 3: Histeria, Mr. Niebla (c), Psicosis II vs Alebrije (c), Elegido, Octagon in a lights out match
Toreo de Cuatro Caminos, 10/07/07

(8:00) No Abismo here, as Dr. Morales noted. This one is still odd.

Match 4: Copa de Antonio Pena
Toreo de Cuatro Caminos, 10/07/07

*Apparently the whole match, because they start with X-Pac vs Porky (14:25+10:49+6:35)

I actually hope they do this again. Even though it was overbooked and felt 1.5x as long, it's still a good idea. I'm saying this while fast forwarding thru it, so I may have mellowed a bit on it since last time. Just after the break, there's a scrolling ad for the 02/01 show (yesterday), and I assume other shows that have already passed are what they've been blurring out lately. This one lists the NOAH guys in the main event as "Maru Fuji" and "Mori Shima".

Clipped matches theatre

Match 5: Escoria, Diabolica vs Mari Apache, Gran Apache vs Histeria, Ayako Hamada vs Billy Boy, Fabi Apache for the vacant AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship
Centro de Convenciones de Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, 11/30/07

(4:09) which includes pre-match stuff, but only so they can discuss the pre-match change. The rest is most clips of just around eliminations.

Match 6: Extreme Tiger, Halloween vs Sabu, Teddy Hart vs Crazy Boy, Joe Lider vs Extreme Tiger, Halloween for the AAA World Tag Team Championship in a ladder match
Centro de Convenciones de Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, 11/30/07

(5:17) This is a match that needed to be clipped to start with. They pretty much just count to the last three minutes, and noticeably cut out Chessman and Charly climbing the ladder and refusing the belts (though you do see Charly climbing down and the announcers make reference to it.) That spot is never going to be explained or referenced again, which kinda makes it worse. I didn't pick this up before, because I was raging with anger and all, but the announcers call these the national tag team titles. They sure are the lesser belts.

Match 7: Decnis,  Jr., Zumbido vs Alan Stone, Intocable, Super Calo in a cage of death match
Centro de Convenciones de Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, 11/30/07

(5:06)

I thought for a second this show was going to end without more Cibernetico. Such a fool.

Match 8: Zorro vs Mesias vs Cibernetico for the AAA World Heavyweight Championship
Centro de Convenciones de Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, 11/30/07

(3:39) It's like they got done with the first 2h30m of the show, and then realized they forget to get anything from GdT in.

Announcers and Espiritu goof around to end it.
