AAA Mini Line - 12/22/07 (#656)
Recapped: 12/22-24/07

This is the Teleton show. Four sided ring, and Teleton banners everywhere. For whatever reason, they use the old AAA bumpers for this show.

Match 1: Mega, Toxico AAA, X-Fly (c) vs Aero Star (c), Metal Boy, Super AAA
Deportivo Agustin Millan, Toluca, 11/22/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:48
Notes: Toxico has gimmicked his gas mask to shoot out compressed air. I don't think that's how it's supposed to work. X-Fly (spelled X-Flay) gets his own entrance, bringing the Mosco mask with him. Mega appears to have the gear of the IWRG one - and the mask the IWRG one lost. Rudo team has name graphics with them, Metal Boy does not. Aero Star has a front row group all wearing his shirt, so he spends a moment with them. Piero is ref.

Mosco does not look good in his exchange with Metal Boy. Metal Boy seems insane - a top rope senton con giro to the floor will give you that impression. Aero Star looks good. There's this convoluted spot where Toxico and Mega press Super AAA over their head, Aero Star stands on the top rope, and Aero uses Super AAA as a platform for a flying armdrags on Mosco. I have no idea why he'd do that, or why the rudos would help out like they kinda did. Metal Boy goes in a tope on Mosco, and the tecnicos get in weak rebound armdrags. DOUBLE TOPE is good. Piero teases DCO, but the Mega and Metal Boy pick up from there. They show the Teleton hotline, and I hope someone's still listening to the number they're showing. And that it works it the US. Metal Boy reveres a corner whip into a backflip for no reason, but gets tripped up and pulled out by Mosco. Mosco forearms him in the back and throws him back in. No idea where Super AAA disappears to here. Mega and Toxico take the visible two, work them over for a moment and set them on the middle rope for big moves. Toxico gives Aero Star a valaguesa and Mega gives Metal Boy a Wagner Driver. Piero counts three for the upset - you'd think the team with 1.5 regulars would beat the tam with .5 regulars. Replay shows Piero tripped up Aero Star before he got beat at the finish, which is a lot clear on the replay.

2: WAIT, there's multiple falls?!?!?!? Why? This is a match featuring 1 guy who's a TV regular, 2 guys who are on occasionally, and 3 guys looking for jobs. Seven minutes is plenty. Beatdown. Rudos get a triple pose submission on Super AAA and refuse to budge from their spots even when teammates get dropkicked. Mosco is seems totally out of shape and his fear isn't helping him. Metal does a tope rope senton con giro on Mega during the comeback just so he can pose after it. Finish is turnabout of the first fall, with Metal landing a 450 splash on Toxico (which doesn't look good) and Aero beating Mega with a reverse 450 splash (he's facing out and spinning backwards and it lands great, though I can't imagine the level of difficulty required.) Super AAA gets Mosco with a 'rana for the triple pin.

3: Everyone gets big moves, everyone else dramatically breaks it up. Aero Star starts the dive train with an inside out moonsault and only doesn't hit his head on the apron because Mosco's saved him with a catch. Mega topes everyone, and his shoulder pads almost get ripped off on the catch. Metal Boy, who keeps almost slipping off the top rope, does a tornillo to the floor. Toxico looks very uncomfortable to the top rope but still does a moonsault. Everyone chants for Super AAA, and he gets most of the guys with a tope con giro. Aero Star and Mosco snuck inside so they can do the finish (I hope). X-Fly counters a tilt-a-whirl and kicks Aero before hading up. Aero catches up to him, joins him on the top rope. They both stand on the top rope, and I guess Aero is planning a top rope 'rana but he loses his footing. X-Fly shoves him backwards, because it'll cover for Aero falling, but Aero pulls him with, and X-Fly almost takes a flip bump on his head. Aero pulls him into position, backs up in the ring, and gets in bottom rope springboard shooting star senton. That's the finish. What percentage of Aero Star's pay goes to DVDs, I wonder.

Backstage Interview: La Parka Jr. doesn't know who his surprise partner is and is angry about it. The interviewer - not Jesus Z - does not know either. Parka's very edgy about this for whatever reason. It's funny, because all the bumper teaesers for the main event (for which there are many) "conceal" the identity of Parka's partner in a way where it's completely obvious who it is. Parka needs to watch the show!

Match 2: Barba Roja, Hijo del Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. (c) vs Ángel Mortal, Gallego, Mr. Cóndor (c)
Deportivo Agustin Millan, Toluca, 11/22/07

Winner: Pirates
Match Time: 9:18
Notes: No entrances. Pirates are all in yellow. Introductions just before another break, and we get little help in telling the two Pirata Morgan's apart, though Jr. is the stouter one. This is one fall. Mr. Condor is bald and I couldn't tell you why. Pirates work as tecnicos here and get showcases to start. Beatdown comes in at about 5:00. Junior gets killed with a triple powerbomb. Barba Roja gets press slammed out of the ring, which would seem to be a disqualification most weeks. Even the announcers note it. Of course it isn't here, because that's not the finish. Why do these refs not go along on pinfall finishes when a shoulder accidentally gets up, but don't call DQs? Oh, wait, maybe it WAS the finish. The Consgrados didn't get the call they were expecting, so they pull Pirata Morgan Jr. back in, and yank at his mask until Pepe Casas tries to break it up, and then shove him away. THAT'll get the DQ. I'm not sure if that was a nice save of a finish or just worked out okay, but whatever. This was quite the filler. Consgrados beat up the Pirates some more after the match.

Noti AAA
- AAA wrestlers with children who are helped out with the Teleton
- AAA wrestlers won awards. They brought up Pena's urn for the promotion award, which would creep me out (and I'm not sure why when I think about it.) I'd still like to know why Estrellita won female wrestler of the year when you could name a half dozen better choices - it's not even that Estrellita was bad, it's just that she did nothing (except look great in the dress she's wearing here.)
- Laredo Kid is coming back. At some point.
- Cibernetico and Zorro got into a skirmish at a press conference. Mesias didn't seem so interested. Me too.

Interview: Billy is happy to be reunited with his wife and his children, but the Gran Apache stuff will never go away. He's very tired of it at this point and he kinda blows off talking about it despite Jesus Z's probing questions.

Match 3: Ayako Hamada, La Diabolica, Mr. Niebla (c) vs Billy Boy (c), Fabi Apache, Mary Apache
Deportivo Agustin Millan, Toluca, 11/22/07

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: (10:10)
Other Match Notes: Gran Apache is NOT out with Mari. La Diabolica hasn't been on TV since March. Copetes is ref. Fabi gets the microphone to talk sense into Mari - it's all Gran Apache's fault, and he's not here. Mari says it's Billy's fault, and not much more before Niebla attacks Fabi with a slap. Beatdown from there. I keep flashing back to the last Ayako vs Fabi match in this building and hoping this isn't as aggravating. While the rudo team has no particular chemistry, as you'd expect form three people who never team, it is a pretty nice destructive beatdown. Ayako uses a double stomp to Billy's back and it looks good. Niebla has a nice crucifix powerbomb in here. Everyone takes turns body slamming Fabi, but she gets her knees up on Ayako's moonsault while the others are paying no attention. Backbreaker for Diabolica, tilt-a-whirl escape into a n armdrags on Niebla to turn the tide. Billy and Fabi corner Ayako when she tires to run away from being attack (Mari's no where to be seen), and pick her apart with kicks. Niebla acts like he's coming into wrestle, revs himself up, and then stalls in the corner rather than face Billy and Fabi. Fabi leaves, and Niebla leaves, mocking the crowd from the apron, and then pratfalling off it. Crowd enjoys laughing at Niebla, but he's also ground the match to a halt. Mari works with Diabolica, getting the best of the exchange with armdrags and Diabolic spearing herself on the post. Fabi cheers for her sister and Mari shoves her for it. Crowd loudly behind Fabi when she comes in against Ayako. Ayako misses a clothesline, Fabi boots her down. Whip, Ayako backflips off the middle rope, but stumbles and falls down. Crowd laughs. Just as Ayako gets back to her feet, Fabi boots her down. Fabi celebrates. Ayako misses a clothesline, Fabi gives her a spinning armdrags and does a dive tease. Billy and Niebla in, and the crowd is actually more behind Niebla. Billy Boy gets some support after he tricks Niebla into throwing himself out of the ring and does Niebla's dance. Niebla comes in, only to take a backdrop out, and Billy flattens him with a tope. Fabi and Ayako come in, both checking to see if the guys are ready. Fabi misses a clothesline, Ayako lands  as a superkick, backs up, charges, and gets backdropped to the apron. Fabi backs up the ropes, and then stands there, watching as Ayako climbs the ropes. Ayako is actually going out, moonsault onto Billy. Fabi kicks Diabolica off the apron and gets in a plancha on Ayako and Billy. Mari clotheslines Diabolica before she can dive, lifts her up, and Diabolica slips free, pulling Mari into an inverted faceslam. Double underhook faceslam one two and Fabi makes the save for his sister. Fabi helps up Mari, tells her to get Diabolica, and  heads up. Such a bad idea. Sure enough, Fabi accidentally gets Mari with a missile dropkick, and Diabolica very much on purpose gets Fabi with a Gory airplane spin. One two three, Billy just late in breaking it up. That was much better than the last one.

Mari promptly turns on Fabi and Billy, with the rudos more than willing to help stomp them down. La Diabolica rants on the microphone.

In-Ring: Charly Manson is in the ring and talking to the crowd as we return. "Zorra" and "Electra" are said - Zorra's still catching on. It's not important who Parka's going to team with, HBs are going to win. There's only two types of lucha libre wrestlers in this world - everyone else, and the Hell Brothers. And that's it.

They were really struggling to come up with 3 hours of show this week, huh?

Match 4: Decnnis, Scorpio Jr. (c), Zumbido vs Alan Stone (c), Intocable, Super Calo
Deportivo Agustin Millan, Toluca, 11/22/07

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 9:42
Other Match Notes: Guapito's styling even in a sling. Super Calo's fluffy arm robe thing is just weird looking. The women go crazy for Intocable, and the guy is mobbed by at two girls as he enters. Security arrives, but more fans do! It's good this only happens to tecnicos. Intocable walks around the ring to slap hands, and almost gets pulled into the crowd. As always Piero is ref. Tecnico showcase to start - Alan, Intocable and then Calo. Guapos regroup on the outside after the last bit, so Intocable goes after Guapito. Guapos stop him in time and work him over 3 on 1 in a corner, then whipping him across and crotching him on the post. Beatdown slowly takes hold. Lots of one tecnico getting worked over by multiple rudos in the ring, while others just hang out on the apron. Rudos decide to go back to their corner, and they do a series of near fall breakups. Scorpio gets an armbar on Alan last, and both Calo and Intocable break that up, triggering a four way. Tecnicos are whipped into each other, then Intocable is sent to the corner where Calo ends up. Calo backdrops Intocable to the apron and kicks away Decnis and Zumbido who get up in time for Intocable to plancha them, and get back up in time for Calo to plancha them. Calo dropkicks Zumbido out, and follows with a rolling (!!!) pescado, but Zumbido (laying on the floor) gets his feet up to block it. Intocable gets Decnis with a headscissors and is more successful in his plancha. Back to the captains. Chop fest with Piero very visibly looking outside the ring. ALan gets a clothesline and yells to the crowd, but Guapito grabs a leg next time off the ropes. While Scorpio gets a chair from Zumbido, Intocable pulls Guapito off Alan. Scorpio sings, Alan ducks, Scorpio pulls back to swing again, Intocable pulls it away and hits Scorpio with it. Alan covers, Piero finally turns around one......two...........three. That was a completely unnecessary slow three count, but whatever. Guapos tend to Scorpio as tecnicos celebrate.

Match 5: Electro Shock & Zorro vs Charly Manson & Cibernetico vs La Parka Jr. & Mesias
Deportivo Agustin Millan, Toluca, 11/22/07

Winner: Hell Brothers
Match Time: 10:52
Other Match Notes: Zorro still shakes hands with people on the way to the ring, and mocks HB fans. I think everyone is stretching out their ring entrance so this match is that much shorter. I'd totally do that if I was involved. It's for the best. Crowd isn't as hot for Cibernetico as they've been for previous shows. Parka has his sword. No one, not even Parka, seems to know the surprise partner. His music kinda makes it immediately obvious, though they try to drag it out as surprise for a longer.

Mesias being the surprise partner here really makes last week's bit seem really dumb - to the person who doesn't know tape dates of everything (99%), why is Mesias cleared to wrestle here after not being able to wrestle last week? Notably, Zorro is helping leading the chants AGAINST Mesias. I don't think they understood this was going to air before the other episodes when they were doing this. I thought Cibernetico was grabbing to microphone to ask "what the heck" but it's more about the title shot he still wants. And then he and Charly taunt him with a stuffed rat. Mesias starts of with a catchphrase, I'm shocked. And then he segues into another! And then he segues into another! He just fits in the other words around them same phrases every week. He doesn't actually explain what's going on, but Cibernetico doesn't care. Cibernetico appears to be faintly aware Zorro's in the GdT match, but really Mesias and Cibernetico could care less about him. It's all "when I face you, it's going to defeat you and take the title! Maybe also Zorro." The end of Mesias' talking is clipped out, but I don't seem to get a reason why he's teaming with La Parka Jr., and he doesn't seem much interested in the idea himself, dropping to the floor rather than hang on the apron whit his partner. Parka puts on his shoulder harness before the match starts. Are we ever going to get a reason why Mesias is teaming with Parka here? Parka didn't want it, Mesias didn't want it, I don't understand why Roldan would want it, but I guess that's the best guess. Parka and Mesias bark at each other while killing time before this match. Pepe Casas is ref.

Mesias refuses to get in the ring to start, because Cibernetico is waiting for him. Zorra gets angry with the Zorra chant and rushes in when Charly Manson takes Ciber's place, but rushes out when Cibernetico comes back in. Electro comes in, so Charly comes back in, but Electro wants no piece of him, so Zorro comes in, so Cibernetico comes in so Zorro goes out and REPEAT and I hate this match already. Charly Manson, who's the SANE one here, stops the madness by staying into face Zorro, but they just do comedy and I decide to type no more till this match is over.

After a lot of HBs domination (and La Parka getting to do his bit), Zorro and Electroshock worked over both HBs with the cane and a cahir. La Parka JR. wanted to get in and help the tecnicos, but Mesias kept stopping him and eventually pulled him off the apron and threw him into the guardrail. Chessman ran out to save Cibernetico from being caned one more time, blew mist in everyone's face, and got out as Charly and Cibernetico got their big moves on the Legion (Cibernetico chokeslam Zorro, Charly Manson inverted figure four Electro) for the stereo win.

Mesias walks out to the entrance during the finish. I'm not sure he was ever really in this match. La Parka Jr. joins the HBs in the ring, and Mesias talks about Zorro and Electro being traitors, even though we haven't seen them turn yet. This was planned quiet poorly. Cibernetico responds blah blah blah.

Replays, and that's the show. YAY. They do remember to get in one more plug about the Teleton before the end.
