AAA Mini Line - 12/08/07 (#654)
Recapped: 12/20/07
Six sided ring, with the hard camera NOT facing the entrance. This is an outdoor venue (it's a baseball stadium, after all), and it's dark by the time the show starts.
Interview: Mini Hell Brothers and Jesus Z try to work out the minis being rudos while the normal sized versions are tecnicos. No one quite has it.
Match 1: Mini Charly Manson, Mini Chessman, Mini
Histeria vs La Parkita, Mascarita Divina,
Octagoncito
Estadio de Beisbol Carlos Serdan Arechavaleta, 10/26/07
Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 10:50 (6:03+3:47)
Notes: Pepe Casas is the ref. There's a break right as the beatdown
starts. Slower paced than recent matches, and not up to their level. Beatdown
doesn't last too long before Parkita is making the comeback. They seem to be
highlighting him early on, and it's a lot more comedy than wrestling. Just as
Divina is working a sequence against Charly and Chessman, Mini Histeria does a
bit where he accidentally falls off the apron. The timing made no sense the
first time I saw it that I thought he legitimately fell, but no, he was just
doing his own stuff while guys were trying to work in the ring. Charly and
Histeria hang out in different corners for no particular reason. Lots of crowd
shots. Parkita gets in a tope, Manson gets in a plancha (on Chessman, by
accident), Divina gets in a tope on Charly. Octagoncito cuts off Mini Abismo,
but Mini Abismo turns it around to a powerbomb, and that's it. Sudden
finish.
Interview: 3/4 of the Night Queens. No Yuriko. Polvo says they're better than all the other groups. Nygma wants title matches. Jesse mumbles.
Match 2: Jesse, Nygma, Polvo de Esterllas, Yuriko vs Casandro, el
Ángel, Pimpinela Escarlata, Super Fly
Estadio de Beisbol Carlos Serdan Arechavaleta, 10/26/07
Winner: Night Queens
Match Time: 9:07 (4:52+4:17)
Notes: Hijo de Tirantes is ref. Angel's music is completely random,
early 80s love song thing. Lost a bet? I think I say this every time. Polvo has
fireworks coming out of his headpiece. They're all in Orange this week, and
barely make it down the aisle before the tecnicos attack them. Polvo works
Pimpinela with clotheslines that scream "I am the weak link on this
team!" Rudos somehow end up in control, and Jesse gets a garbage can. They
stuff Super Fly instead, put him up on the apron, and dropkick him off. That was
far more trouble than it was worth, and they never go to the garbage can again
until the finish. Usual fast paced match between these two teams. Super Fly
comes the closest to conking his head on the apron yet with his dive (he
actually pushed off the apron on the way down!) The Night Queens remember they
have a garbage can just in time for Nygma to hit Pimpi with it, and Polvo to accidentally
clonk Nygma with the lid. Polvo misses Pimpi on the second try, so he goes to
the old standby of a low blow. That'll do. This being a Hijo de Tirantes match,
we're treated to 1:00 of him teasing changing the finish.
Interview: Alan Stone talks about the Guapos.
Match 3: Decnnis, Scorpio Jr., Zumbido vs Alan Stone, Chris Stone, Super Calo
Estadio de Beisbol Carlos Serdan Arechavaleta, 10/26/07
Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 12:08 (9:27+2:41)
Other Match Notes: No entrances. Piero is the ref. Stones (green) rush
the Guapos (purple) out of the ring before the match even starts and try to get
to Guapito. No luck there. Break is inserted here right after the comeback
starts (Zumbido sets up for a missile dropkick, but gets crotched off screen),
and we get a break just as the Stones are going after Guapito. I like how, as
part of Chris Stone's showcase bit, he takes a backdrop to the floor. Decnis finishes
him with a plancha to the floor, so perhaps that's just the worst showcase ever.
Announcers faintly remember Octagon was middleweight champ at one point. Captains
are left in for the finish, and Piero seems to be counting slightly fast for
Scorpio, but it's not as big a deal as usual. Alan counters into a headscissors
cradle for one, Scorpio reveres it for two, and everyone's distracted by
Intocable's music playing randomly. There's no actual sign of Intocable, so
Scorpio goes to the middle rope to fight out what's up, and Alan powerbombs him
off for the pin. Piero's count is slow, but not that slow by his
standards.
Intocable finally shows up after the match, and gets jumped in the aisle by the Guapos. The Stones are either unaware or very very slow. Alan gets there just in time to prevent a chair shot. Was Intocable supposed to show earlier?
Interview: Mesias and Zorro rant. Mostly one guy going for his catchphrases, and one guy making gestures behind him. Cibernetico is definitely not winning the title. Glad we got that cleared up.
Oh, Zorro didn't talk there (I guess), because he's coming out to the ring for a chat. This is just to remind people who haven't seen his turn yet that he did in fact turn. Zorro also wants to know why Roldan didn't suggest HIM for a shot at the championship. Cutting to shots of people waving at the camera and not caring at all about the promo doesn't really help, you know. Crowd really has taken to the ZORRA chant. Zorro is a wrestler, not a dancer. Incredibly, Elegido shows up - is he here to stick up for the poor, mistreated dancer minority in AAA? They really get picked on. Well, Actually, Zorro seems to vanish here so Elegido can do his dance, so maybe I'm not supposed to connect those dots. Ah, there he is. Elegido does little more than bring up the Zorra chant. Zorro does little more than "wrestler, not a dancer" thing again, so we're making no progress. Zorro does vow that Elegido will get taken out somewhere in here, also hits the Mesias catchphrase. And now Ozz is out, and I guess we're transitioning to
Match 4: Electro Shock, Kenzo Suzuki (c), Ozz vs El Elegido, Intocable, Octagón
(c)
Estadio de Beisbol Carlos Serdan Arechavaleta, 10/26/07
Winner: Tecnicos (by DQ)
Match Time: 10:27
Other Match Notes: where Octagon enters out of order, but whatever. Pepe
Casas is ref. Again the announcers jokingly say Kenzo's Mexican. Ozz takes ridiculously
flip bump off a weak, and then they do a leapfrog spot where Ozz leaps and leaps
while Elegido stands behind him, having grabbed the ropes. There's absolutely no
payoff to the bit - we just get a crowd shot while we hear something happening
in the ring, and everyone's in different spots as we go back. Get some better
editors. Beatdown starts at about 5 minutes. It's not a long one (though it's
tough to be sure with so many crowd shots to hide clips), and Intocable is
dodging moves to start a comeback two minutes later. In the middle of the one
ones, Electroshock gives Intocable middle rope shoulder powerslam that's not
sold as a big spot after the fact, but does resume the beatdown again. Intocable
having to load himself up for the move was also not so good. Electroshock loads
up Elegido for the Martiente, Ozz keeps Pepe Casas from getting involved, Kenzo
keeps out Octagon and Intocable, and Electro finishes off Elegido. That's a DQ,
though we watch Zorro coming out and laughing happily than the decision
being signaled.
Zorro tells Elegido he shouldn't have messed with him. I don't think he's conscious to hear that. Perhaps he should've sent put that on a card and sent it to the hospital. Rudos celebrate maiming their opponent. Intocable tries to get revenge, but he's beat down. Octagon helps get Elegido loaded onto the stretcher. Rudos beat down the other tecnicos while Elegido is taken out. Girls seem concerned.
After the Legion leaves, and they take their time screwing around with the crowd and posing and such, Guapos rush out work over Intocable. That'll teach him to play have his music. Alan Stone rushed out for the save, but the Guapos still have the numbers. Super Calo and Chris Stone show up a little bit later and the Guapos are beaten out of the ring and chased back to the stage. Prez Roldan makes his way thru the fight to the ring, and announcers the cage match for GdT.
Vignette: Cibernetico sits on his bike and recaps last week's title shot bit for us. Multitasking!
Match 5: Mesias & Zorro vs Cibernetico & La Parka Jr.
Estadio de Beisbol Carlos Serdan Arechavaleta, 10/26/07
Winner: Tecnicos (DQ)
Match Time: 15:52 (9:46+6:06)
Other Match Notes: Hijo de Tirantes is ref. Cibernetico stomps Mesias
into the mat to start, but Zorro helps him turn the tables for a beatdown. Zorro
has free use of the cane this week - they had to build in a distraction last
week. Brawling and choking and the like. Cibernetico turns around a corner whip
to start the comeback at about 8 minutes. Zorro gets punched around, both rudos
hang out outside the ring for quite a while, and only when it looks like they might
get in do we get the break. Actually, they're still arguing with the fans after
the break and then Mesias stalls more inside the ring before doing anything with
La Parka. He gets as good a tecnico run as he can get in (even a headscissors0)
while keeping his left arm close to his body at all times. Cibernetico runs
while on Zorro, chokeslamming him in no time. Mesias rushes in and punches
Cibernetico, who goes down just after one. Parka runs in, ducks a Parka clothesline,
and slides all the way out to work over Zorro for no reason. The Sect jog
out to attack LA Parka - good thing he happened to go outside the ring. Inside
the ring, Cibernetico has Mesias in a choke, but holds on forever so Cuervo can
jump in. Cuervo does a flying nothing, Cibernetico catches him in a choke,
shoves Mesias away (???) and chokeslams Cuervo instead. How dumb. Cibernetico
screams at the crowd and generally does a poor job of not looking over his
shoulder at Mesias being passed the title belt. (Hijo de Tirantes doesn't do
much better.) Mesias runs over Cibernetico with the belt, but instead of
covering, just invites everyone into stomp. Hijo de Tirantes is shoved down for
good measure. That's a DQ, of course. This was a waste of time. Why did they do
the distraction on the belt shot?
Mesias rants on the microphone as usual. It's his world, and no Mexican is going to beat him. Mesias is #1 in Mexico and on your radio dial. Cibernetico is not going to win the belt, but Mesias is going to have him his shot in Irapuato. Mesias has a big surprise planned for him there. Catchphrase.
Replays, Cibernetico is helped to the back, replays, and we're done.
