This show! This was a show.
I’ve been bored by this program recently, and the matches have generally been inoffensively bland. This one sure broke the mold. You can tell there’s no effort at all put into picking the matches to air on this show, because there’s no way this opener should’ve made TV. At least it was short, and the main got plenty of time.
Sombra/Aguila was a slow starter that got fun by the end. Aguila acted like a man who had actually seen a CMLL singles match before, knew the spots the tecnico did in every single match, and was going to do his best to put a stop to it. Plus, he was dressed like a punk stegosaurus, and you can’t go wrong with that. This was not a MOTYC, but if CMLL could promise me one of these matches every month somewhere along the CMLL TV network, I would be a lot more satisfied with CMLL.
Sombra didn’t start using the Brillante Driver until after he got back from Japan, right? Can we send everyone, one by one, over to Japan so they all get set finishers too?
(lots more gifs after the break – hope you have the bandwidth)

I feel like I’ve seen Aguila/Sombra before. Did that also air on the local GDL show?
Everything on the teleformula is a repeat of the local show
jushin liger must have given felino some dancing tips!
Listen…
Dragon Rojo sucks. Big time. He’s just not good. He’s on the level of Bronco except Bronco is working where he should be and when he botches stuff it’s okay b/c you understand he’s just going to learn and get better. Dragon Rojo is working in a position way above where he belongs and I don’t get the sense he is learning anything at all because no matter how many times he screws up and embarasses himself he is still going to be working high due to his physique.
The guy is just not good at all and better hope the CMLL style doesn’t change b/c he won’t be able to keep up if it does. (i.e. he can’t just do a move, pose, do a move, post again and then bail out)
So Dragon Rojo is mini Gronda? I’m glad i’m not the only one that thinks that.
Not enough love for Felino dancing.
Dragon Rojo has more personality than Bronco, and more personality than a lot of guys, and I think that’s why I like him. But you’re totally right that he must be getting the message that he’s doing everything great based on his rapid push, and that’s not quite right. I think they got lucky with some guys from the same area turning on quick, but good abs will take you a long way in life.
