IWRG (SUN) 08/01 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), The Gladiatores]
1) Super Halcon Jr. b Alan Extreme
2) Comando Negro & Magia Negra DQ Eragon & Fly Star
3) Nygma & Pasion Kristal b Dinamic Black & Miss Gaviota
4) Hijo del Cien Caras & Máscara Año 2000 Jr. b Hijo de Pierroth (IWRG) & Hijo de Pirata Morgan [IWRG IC TAG]
5) Chico Che, Scorpio Jr., Veneno DQ El Brazo, Electroshock, Gato Eveready
El Brazo faked a foul from Scorpio in the third. They proposed a hair vs hair match, where the winner also gets possession of Guapito. I had no idea you could gamble minis like that.
Champs retain in the semimain.
Tercera was Gaviota’s chance for revenge on Kristal (who unmasked him in the cage match), but Nygma managed to trip up the IWRG wrestler from the outside to set up a Kristal Michinoku Driver for the win.
CMLL (MON) 08/02 Arena Puebla [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Sauron & Siki Osama b Black Tiger & Stigma
2) Dalys la Caribeña, Marcela, Silueta b Amapola, Seuxis, Yeska
3) Fuego, Metro, Stuka Jr. b Euforia, Pólvora, Virus
4) Blue Panther, Valiente, Volador Jr. b Dragón Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
5) Charly Manson, Héctor Garza, Psicosis b Místico, Rotoporky, Shocker
Tirantes tripped up Mistico and Charly took advantage to get the surprising win. This sets up a singles match next week. I wonder if Manson has a title Mistico can win to get that match with Psicosis. I know he’s not champion, but I bet he still has a belt…
Thinking Polvora probably didn’t work the tercera, but he’s the guy the recap has listed.
SuperLuchas has a preview tonight’s title match, which also goes over the note CMLL.com posted yesterday: should Terrible, Texano and Hector Garza win the CMLL World Trios Championship from Sombra, La Mascara and Mascara Dorada, Terrible would take La Mascara’s spot in this week’s Block of the Universal Tournament. (Texano had his shot, Garza is getting his with the tag titles, Mascara Dorada is already out.) It seems to be Sombra’s earned his birth in the final no matter what happens, but it seems to me that this is all irrelevant because the champions will retain this time. At the same time, I don’t think this will be the last shot for this rudo trio.
CMLL Magazine says there will be a press conference tomorrow for Rush vs Loco Max in a hair match. It appears the match will take place this Sunday, though I’m not 100% sure of it.
Vangelis replaces Polvora on Friday’s Arena Mexico card. Polvora’ out due to the head injury from Sunday.
AAA talks about the Psycho Circus, Mascara Sagrada, and the new Alebrije and Cuijie visiting a hospital for children with cancer.
SuperLuchas notes the schedule for FCW’s tryout session and Sexi Star’s visit to Florida happen to perfectly coincide. By the schedule, she’ll find out if she makes it on Friday, when she’ll be in Puebla for the AAA TV taping.
Lucha Libre USA drew a 0.08 rating this week, down .01 from last. I’m pretty sure these numbers aren’t as accurate to the hundreds as they’d like to pretend; it’s really just the same number as last week.
A La Parka/Pimpi vs LA Park/Alex tag match this past Sunday in Irapuato took place in front of 5,000 people.
Heavy Metal says he’ll beat Electroshock easily, and points out Electroshock couldn’t manage to defend the AAA title once.
Today in Guadalajara rudos complaining about poor refereeing, Evola whines about the excessive violence call against him that cost him the Occidente Light Heavyweight Title. He’s demanding a rematch, with a new referee. I think these are the problems you’re bound to run into when your head referee is named “El Loco”.
R de Rudo has an interview with Super Z, who’s actually a indy wrestler from WSWF in Pennsylvania.
Robert previews Block B of the Universal Title Tournament.
LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.
I think there’s a typo in the Segunda Lucha on this card. If not, I want to see that gimmick.

@Flashmagic: Oh, I forgot about that too.
Arkangel subbed for Polvora
I am happy to see that LLUSA is not getting as many viewers as AAA does on Galavision.
RAW did a 9.7 in Mexico
