Sin Salida results, Octagon, lineups

CMLL (FRI) 12/04 Arena Mexico [SuperLuchas, Cesar, Alan]
1) Pegasso, Rey Cometa, Rouge b Hooligan, Loco Max, Skándalo
2) Mascarita Dorada b Pequeño Damian 666 [lightning]
3) Brazo de Plata, La Máscara, Máximo b Felino, Misterioso II, Negro Casas
4) Héctor Garza, Místico, Strong Man b Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Último Guerrero
5) La Sombra & Volador Jr. b Ephesto & Mephisto [CMLL TAG]
6) Terrible & Texano Jr. b Naito & Yujiro [hair]

Lots of the details in the post below.

Cesar has the opener as the best match on the show, and says the tag title match was mared by bad refering. Alan, and it sounds like SupreLuchas, both have the tag title match stronger.Times for the falls in that one are 2, 3:30, and 24.

Same sort of pattern for the main event – 4:30/3/14 . Terrible did get the pin, but it reads like Terrible snuck back in to foul Naito before the finish, so it some shared credit. NJPW has announced No Limit is part of a number of challengers for the IWGP Tag Titles on 01/04, but No Limit say they plan on winning the titls and defending them in Mexico. Guess we’ll see.

On the radio broadcast, the announcers mentioned Mr. Niebla was taken to the hospital for an arm injury, but I haven’t seen any more about it today.

Octagon is in trouble for his DUI arrest. Back when he was arrested a month ago, Octagon was let off early 13 1/3 hours early from his 20 hour jail term, but was supposed to come back to officially file his defense. Octagon never did, so they’re putting the word out that he needs to to turn himself in for the remaining time, or they will put out a warrant.

Rey Bucanero, sub-novato Aquaris, and a couple members of the CMLL staff talked to a college communication class about the history and business of CMLL. This sounds greatly interesting. Among the usual topics like  foreign tours and the influence of WWE, there is a mention of the always mysterious drug policy.

DJ Spectro puts together the dizzying history of Clowns in lucha libre.

AAA notes Umaga’s passing. He His brother wrestled there as Nikozuna.

Lineups – all in Arena Mexico this week, though I guess the Sunday one is not a fan appreciation show.

CMLL (TUE) 12/08 Arena Mexico
1) Artillero & Súper Comando vs Apolo Estrada Jr. & Molotov
2) Arkangel de la Muerte, Nitro, Skándalo vs Guerrero Maya Jr., Starman, Tigre Blanco
3) Euforia, Pólvora, Virus vs Fuego, Pegasso, Rey Cometa
4) Terrible, Texano Jr., Vangelis vs Hijo del Fantasma, Sagrado, Valiente
5) Blue Panther, Místico, Shocker vs Felino, Misterioso II, Negro Casas

CMLL seems to finally have made the switch to Fuego this week. That’s a fine upstanding rudo trio.

CMLL (FRI) 12/11 Arena Mexico
1) Guerrero Maya Jr. & Metálico vs Inquisidor & Semental
2) Diamante vs Escorpion [lightning]
3) Estrella Mágica, Lluvia, Star Fire vs Amapola, Yezca, Zeuxis
4) Bam Bam, Eléctrico, Máscara Dorada vs Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
5) Brazo de Plata, La Máscara, Máximo vs Negro Casas, Ray Mendoza Jr., Shigeo Okumura
6) Héctor Garza, Strong Man, Volador Jr. vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

Poor Amapola. Thank goodness the minis is above that match. This is clearly the week after.

CMLL (SUN) 12/13 Arena Mexico
1) Astro Boy & Bengala vs Camorra & Cholo
2) Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata vs Bronco, Hooligan, Nitro
3) Fabián el Gitano, Metro, Rouge vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Skándalo
4) Fuego, La Máscara, Stuka Jr. vs Ephesto, Pólvora, Virus
5) La Sombra, Shocker, Strong Man vs Terrible, Texano Jr., Vangelis

Hey look, Euforia and Nosferatu teaming up – and Ephesto teaming with Cancerberos instead of the third member of the Cancebros. Not a surprise.

  1. Octagon shouldn’t tarnish his legendary status with stuff like this, especially if he wants to be remembered in the same category as Santo.

Also he has to keep in mind that Konnan is booking AAA in such a way that he’s being put on the back burner, so DUI charges don’t help one bit.

  2. “Artillero & Súper Comando vs Apolo Estrada Jr. & Molotov
    2) Arkangel de la Muerte, Nitro, Skándalo vs Guerrero Maya Jr., Starman, Tigre Blanco
    3) Euforia, Pólvora, Virus vs Fuego, Pegasso, Rey Cometa
    4) Terrible, Texano Jr., Vangelis vs Hijo del Fantasma, Sagrado, Valiente
    5) Blue Panther, Místico, Shocker vs Felino, Misterioso II, Negro Casas” This show looks promising, El Principe de Plata y Oro vs El Rey de Yoghurt. This could reek of awesomness!

  3. In the… WE TOTALLY KNEW THIS WAS COMING department:

“Hey look, Euforia and Nosferatu teaming up – and Ephesto teaming with Cancerberos instead of the third member of the Cancebros. Not a surprise.”

Disgusting. Truly disgusting and shows everything wrong with CMLL bookers. Let’s re-write the matches:

“2) Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata vs Bronco, Hooligan, Nitro
    3) Fabián el Gitano, Metro, Rouge vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Skándalo
    4) Fuego, La Máscara, Stuka Jr. vs Ephesto, Pólvora, Virus”

    2. Los Angeles Celestiales vs Bronco, A TUEREG, A TUEREG
    3. Fabian, Metro, Rouge vs A CANCERBERO, Nosferatu, A TUEREG
    4. Fuego, La Mascara, Stuka Jr. vs A HdA, A CANCERBERO, A CANCERBERO

A 3 year old child could correct that lineup!

    2. Los Angeles Celestiales vs Bronco, Nosferatu, anyone else from the roster of 10,000
    3. Rouge, Fabian, Metro vs Los Guerrero Tuereg – Skandalo, Nitro, Hooligan
    4. Fuego, La Mascara, Stuka Jr. vs Los Cancerberos – Euforia, Polvora, Virus

    FIXED!

Another example of the bookers paying no attention to who is friends with who and just randomly assigning guys into matches. The only way this lineup makes any sense is if they are explaining Nosferatu’s absence by having Euforia beat him up and/or we are getting a Tuereg vs Cancerberos feud over the winter.

    ANYWAYS…

Friday’s card looks horrific outside of the mini’s and two opening matches. I guess we could hope they show some heart and air yesterday’s show part 2 but we all know that isn’t happening. Predicted attendance: <500!

Tuesday is most definitely going to be the show of the week. I'm already looking forward to it.

BTW, Sunday is Family Day or whatever they call the promotion once a month on Sundays @ Arena Mex.

  4. Opening with the tercera from last night. I didn’t catch the opening to see what all they advertised, but I’d say the top 3 are likely. I’ve got to run to the store, but I’ve got a tape in to see what airs.

  5. Just got home and the second fall of the hair match just finished, so it does seem to be the top 3 for CMLL today. Interesting change of events for CMLL.

  6. Sorry, I’m confused… so the top 3 aired or the tercera (which was Porky and family) and the top 2?

At least this confirms tomorrow’s noon C3 show will be Tuesday’s taping.

  7. My bad, Porky’s match aired last night. Today was Mistico, tag titles and hair match. I forgot it was a six match show when I said the tercera was airing earlier.

Haven’t had a chance to watch the tag title match to see how much it was edited down.

  8. I wonder if AAA will do an all talk episode like they did during the flu? If Sexi/Fabi means something, they need to get that hyped before it happens.

  9. @Alan: Thanks for clearing that up. Shocked that CMLL aired all three big matches.

@thecubsfan: I think you uploaded some of that show a long time ago. I know I saved the Secta vs Fuerza Aerea match you put up. Awesome match!

  10. AAA LLP gets the Fabi match and the Marco match tonight. I’m wondering if they will give the championship match its own show. Also oddly Moody Jack isn’t commentating with Konnan on this episode. Instead we get one of the TVC Deportes 3ra Caida guys (Guzman I think).

  11. The Zumbido match just aired on ACM. It’s a shame he’s not in CMLL cause he can still go. And Ninja Jr. busted out the Aerostar flat back dive.

  12. The Aerostar/Purpura/Babe Rap vs Poder Norte match just aired and Aerostar is just nuts. He did that dive Mascara Dorada did where he steps on the second rope and dives. Plus Rap/Purpura did stereo SSP’s. Great match.

  13. There is a Channel 20 now. I just noticed it because I can’t remember it being there prior to today and on the guide it says On Fire: Lucha Libre de la NWA.

I’m guessing its gonna be the US shows w/ Spanish announcing.

  14. 52MX has
Leono, Tigre Blanco, Tony Rivera vs Inquisidor, Puma King, Tiger Kid
Naito, Shigeo Okumura, Yujiro vs Máscara Dorada, Metro, Toscano

  15. The RealPlayer C3 feed is dead and the Canal 44 link doesn’t pick up the C3 stream for another 2 hours so anyone hoping to catch the CMLL show is SOL.

  16. Nope but I’ll record it. Although I’m not sure if Canal 44 doesn’t just switch back to their local shows after midnight. I’ve never tried to catch the replay before.

XEJ is still down. Is AAA airing anything?

  17. Do we know how AAA did in Dallas? If it was posted, I missed it, and I checked luchalibre.com WON said nothing.

  18. Someone else will have to check out the C3 repeat or record it b/c my internet is acting like a jerk.

  19. @Tim: My net finally started working so I tuned in at about 1am and it was local programming from Canal 44 instead of Cadena Tres.
