CMLL (FRI) 09/16 Arena Mexico Anniversary Show Results
1) Pierrothito, Mini Violencia, Sombrita ??? Ultimo Dragoncito, Bam Bam, Mini Olimpico
happened before anyone was listening, apparently.
2) Ultimo Dragon, Heavy Metal, Felino b Apolo Dantes, Mascara Magica, Sangre Azteca
3) Marcela b Dark Angel [CMLL WOMEN]
this will hurt the value of the pencil dramatically!
4) Mistico, Dr. Wagner Jr., Negro Casas b Terrible, Tarzan Boy, Mephisto
Was kinda wondering why they were talking about Dr. Wagner so much during the Mexico/USA match till I figured it out. Mistico pinned Tarzan Boy to win it. Lots of mic work post match, trying to set up a match. Ultimo Guerrero might have appeared and that could’ve been the match they were hinting at – they sure were talking about him a lot if he wasn’t there.
5) Ultimo Guerrero, Rey Bucanero, Averno b Tanahashi, Nakamura, Okumura
not sure why it’s out of order. Ultimo and Nakamura are your captains. Sounds like Japan took fall one. And Mexico came back for fall two. And for the last fall – Averno got a pinfall on Tanahashi, and Rey got one over on Okumura shortly after. Averno gets his revenge from last week. MEX E KO MEX E KO. Ultimo did quite a bit of yelling after the match, I believe talking about national pride rather than any mask match.
6) El Hijo De Perro Aguayo vs Hector Garza vs Universo 2000 [3, hair]
I believe Cien Caras is here. I can’t make out who’s facing Universo to start, or if it’s a 2 on 1. Now I got it…
6c) Universo 2000 b Hector Garza [hair/hair]
Cien low blowed Garza! Universo is your winner!

  1. I’ve got a random Garza question. He was wearing a shirt within the last month or two that said (roughly) “If Pepe the bull is innocent, so is Garza.” It’s been a long time since Spanish class, so please correct me if my recollection or translation is faulty.

Anyone know what story or explanation there is to that?

  2. Pepe el Toro is an old Mexican movie about a man whose family dies and his business is closed, so he becomes a boxer, but he accidentally kills his opponent during a bout. “Pepe el Toro es inocente” is a famous cry during the movie.

This is obviously, a reference to his drug deal at the border. It may also be a play on a famous quote years ago “If Pepe el Toro es inocente, Gloria Trevi tambi

  3. Is it getting 3 hours this week?

Next weeks cards up on main site btw. Friday at Arena Mex has Mistico/Ultimo as expected, and what would appear to be La leyenda De Plata Cibernetico/Grand Prix, only the lineup Is more befitting of the Leyenda Azul. I hope Mistico/Ultimo is more of a 30 minute classic as opposed to their more angle-driven match earlier in the year.

And the Tuesday Coliseo tercera likely to air looks nothing special either – I haven’t even heard of Trueno. Is he a regular in a new gimmick? It’s actually pissing me off that everybody seems to be getting a bit of a chance -except Neutron a more entertaining luchador than most of them combined, who seems destined to be woking Coliseo Segundas and Arena Mex openers all his life. And it sucks. The best hope for us is that he gets a few Sunday main events In GDL.
