CMLL (FRI) 10/23 Arena Mexico [Cesar, ESTO]
1) Estrella Mágica & Lluvia b Yezca & Zeuxis
2) Pequeño Damian 666 b Bam Bam [lightning]
3) Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca b Hijo del Fantasma, Stuka Jr., Valiente
4) Blue Panther, Héctor Garza, Sagrado DQ Naito, Shigeo Okumura, Yujiro
5) Averno b Volador Jr. [NWA MIDDLE]
6) Místico, Shocker, Strong Man b Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero
Strong Man powerbombed Ultimo Guerrero, and again Ultimo Guerrero was strechered out.
Title match was said to be really good. Averno had to to give Volador three straight Devil’s Wings to finish him off and retain the title. Virus and Fantasma worked the corners.
No Black Warrior (only a mild surprise), with Sagrado in his spot. DQ was for Naito fouling Garza. Garza made hair match challenges, so it does look like they’re heading in that direction.
Stuka took La Mascara’s spot in the 3rd. Match ended up not being about the trios titles, but Valiente’s middleweight title. Dragon pinned him in the 1st and the 3rd to win the match, then challenged for a title shot. Valiente accepted.
Zeuxis was hurt in the opener.
Ashely Massaro, formerly of WWE, made an appearance in ring between the last couple of matches. It reads as though she was there as part of a group of Playboy centerfolds, but she did talk to CMLL about working for them. That would not be the best of ideas.
The Perros press conference wasn’t to actually announce a next taping or to talk about their TV slot (those things were mentioned as things they would be talking about at some later date), but for all the guys to claim they own the rights to their names, that they’re the originals, and would go to court to defend their names. OK.
Fuego en el Ring talks to Princesa Blanca about Las Zorras. Blanca wanted fast and agile partners, so she picked Hiroka and Sujei over others.
Cronicas y Leyendas de la Lucha Libre looks back at Bam Bam Bigelo at Toreo, in 1992, as well as Babe Face.
Lineups. Note no Black Warrior.
CMLL (TUE) 10/27 Arena Mexico
1) Delta & Trueno vs Apocalipsis & Ramstein
2) Leono, Metálico, Tony Rivera vs Calígula, Hooligan, Méssala
3) Dr. X, Skándalo, Vangelis vs Fabián el Gitano, Flash, Rouge
4) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto vs Naito, Ray Mendoza Jr., Yujiro
5) La Máscara, Místico, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Heavy Metal, Último Guerrero
Semimain is a rematch.
CMLL (FRI) 10/30 Arena Mexico
1) Ángel Azteca Jr., Astro Boy, Sensei vs Durango Kid, Escorpion, Semental
2) Máximo, Sagrado, Stuka Jr. vs Euforia, Pólvora, Virus
3) Valiente vs Dragon Rojo Jr. [MEX WELTER]
4) Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Toscano vs Misterioso II, Terrible, Texano Jr.
5) Naito, Ray Mendoza Jr., Yujiro vs Brazo de Plata, Héctor Garza, Shocker
Porky right back to the top. Remember, when he left, Porky said CMLL told him they couldn’t put on top any more because his age/weight. He’s now four years older (and probably not that much thinner.) Porky and Villano V should just do sumo spots the whole match.
That’s just a random group of people for a semimain. Why not move the title match up one? That title match could go either way with those two.

I do not like the idea of No Limit losing their hair to Shocker/Garza. No Limit has just been given too much momentum to give the big rub to Shocker. I like the idea of Averno/Mephisto putting their masks up for No Limit’s hair.
That Friday main *could* be setting up V5 vs Porky for hairs too… As maybe a tuesday or sunday DF match, or maybe in GDL or Puebla…
“Ashely Massaro, formerly of WWE, made an appearance in ring between the last couple of matches. It reads as though she was there as part of a group of Playboy centerfolds, but she did talk to CMLL about working for them. That would not be the best of ideas.”
OH GOD!!! >.<
CMLL FSE gets the minis (yay!), highlights of the cage match (basically everyone’s escape and a few of the moves from the singles at the end), and Strongman vs Guerrero (boo!).
They are obviously going to build to a Porky/Mendoza hair match.
” Valiente vs Dragon Rojo Jr. [MEX WELTER]
Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Toscano vs Misterioso II, Terrible, Texano Jr.” YAY Misterioso & Mascara Dorada in the Semi-Final. The title could be good aswell.
Looks like CMLL started early today. Already got the lineups on.
@Alan: What’s airing? Can’t connect to the online feed.
Top 3 are airing. Feed is working fine for me so far.
Volador/Averno was a pretty good match. Volador was wearing all black which kinda worked.
@Tim: I was worried when I saw him wearing new gear after the fiasco at the anniversary show. But, it was a pretty solid outing by both of them.
Strongman would still be awful, but his gimmick of the huge angry American who hurts his opponents so bad they ahve to be stretchered out would probably work better as a rudo.
Wow the lineups for next week are terrible.
Tuesday:
Awesome trio w/ the Romanos and Hooligan but exactly what kind of miracle will they be able to work against those three tecnicos? Likewise in the tercera outside of Flash. Will we get any explanation as to why suddenly Mendoza is working opposite Averno/Mephisto? The answer is no, they’ll be teaming in 2 weeks. Fun main event on paper.
Friday:
Opener looks great. They should give Polvora a new outfit and make him the official third Infernal with Euforia/Nosferatu. If you want to know part of the problem with CMLL tecnicos – look at Sagrado. He fits right in working with Polvora but then is expected to be a credible partner for Tuesday main events with Mistico and Volador. Explain that one to me. Valiente/Rojo should be fun. Hopefully Valiente retains. That main event… wow. This could be the worst attended Friday show of the year except the post-Swine Flu show.
Surely CMLL is just killing time and has something big planned for next month. … Right?
Of course Rob, Strongman vs Ultimo Hair vs Mask is coming.
First time seeing Strongman, He truly is the future of Lucha LIbre.
Bracito wearing a Santino Holmes Steelers Jersey is awesome.
Brazo de Plata belongs at the top. CMLL knows what people want to see.
The Dorada/Felino injuries weren’t that bad after all. They didn’t seem hurt, just surprised and covered for the botch by getting stretchered rather than boo’ed. Felino lost Dorada while trying the top-rope Splash Mountain and Dorada landed safely on all fours on the floor while Felino took an exagerated tumbled off the top to the floor (since he clearly unhooked his feet from the ropes or he’d have been perfectly safe). No harm done to either.
Toscano’s finisher is a VERTICAL SUPLEX.
As expected, the last of the first set of LLP shows aired tonight. Here are the point standings that they aired as of the end of the night.
Luchador-Puntos-Ranking-Encuentros
Jack Evans-11-1-2
Elegido-9-2-2
Dr. Wagner Jr.-9-3-2
El Mesias-9-3-2
Marco Corleone–4-2
Rocky Romero-6-5-2
Octagoncito-6-5-1
Pimpinela-6-5-2
Rain-6-5-2
El Zorro-3-6-2
Faby Apache-3-6-2
Mascarita Divina-3-6-2
Mari Apache-3-6-1
Koa-3-6-2
Alex Koslov-0-7-2
Sexi Star–1-8-1
Unanswered Questions:
-What happened to Marco’s other three points? I can explain away the women’s match as them changing the outcome and my missing the explanation, but Mesias can’t get to 9, and Jack can’t get to 11 if Marco doesn’t have 10 points.
-Why is Elegido’s “Rank” higher than Mesias and Wagner when they have the same number of points as him in the same number of matches?
-What was Zorro’s second match?
-Why are several wrestlers (Mini Abismo, Alex, Polvo, Ciber, and Kenzo) not listed in the standings with 0 points even though Alex is listed with 0 and Sexi is listed with -1? More importantly, why isn’t Sugi listed with a point when I think they did actually give him the move of the night tonight?
-Why do I care about this when it is clear that noone at AAA does?
@Alan: Thank you for writing this chart down. Marco’s number should be 7, according to what they showed (though not what happened), right?
Working off their errored count, and adding on the finishes from Friday, the totals going forward should be:
15 Dr. Wagner Jr.
14 Jack Evans
12 Pimpinela
9 Elegido
9 El Mesías
7 Marco Corleone
6 Rocky Romero
6 Octagoncito
6 Rain
6 Faby Apache
6 Mini Abismo Negro
6 Cibernético
3 El Zorro
3 Mascarita Divina
3 Mari Apache
3 Koa
3 Decnnis
3 Electroshock
3 Kenzo Suzuki
2 Sexi Star
Plus 2 bonus points (I’ll guess Jack & Mini Abismo). Jack and Wagner can reach 20 with direct pinfall wins on the next taping. Jack vs Wagner could probably be a pretty fun match.
@thecubsfan: Pimpi could get to 20 if he got the bonus point and gets the pin/win/bonus at the next taping.
Come on everyone, get on board for Pimpi vs Jack for the Copa Fox Sports!
@Alan: Puebla is airing right now according to TVC’s online guide. Started at 2:30 DF time.
Oops, that was me. But it’s good that Paco is keeping up.
@Rob: They clearly feel that AAA is less competition than the Perros!
Segunda is airing, so hopefully it is the women getting cut.
Minis opener on AAA looked fun from what I saw. Same for the segunda from Puebla
No Semimain or women from Puebla since they’ve only got an hour and a half. But, we do get Strongman vs Karissma!
OK, its just sinking in that this AAA show is a replay from last week. This is what happens when I channel surf while watching on consecutive weeks.
Aw, they got rid of that semi-main? Sucks. But at least DELTA got back on TV! I like him and Escorpion.
no AAA on Accion.
No Perros on 4.
@LLL: Probably b/c as Alan noted – AAA TV was a repeat this week. Although on the ByL forum the guy who replied to me said the ‘Orizaba show’ aired but AAA hasn’t taped Orizaba for months.
Okay scratch that, now he says AAA TV skipped Cuernavaca on 10/17 and aired Leon from 10/19. You sure that mini’s opener was a re-run, Alan?
@Rob: This was the show that aired: http://www.thecubsfan.com/cmll/?p=6404
including the Mesias/Wagnermaniacs beatdown and Wagnermaniacs vs Kenzo’s crew.
Then I have no clue what this guy is refering to when he says Leon aired.
Could they possiby skip the Cuernavaca taping that had a billion angles?
I think this repeat has something to do with AAA taping again for Fox Sports. I predicted that they would be preempted again if they kept working with Fox Sports, but repeats would be punishing too.
The AAA website strongly disagrees with both of your calculations.
Jack Evans 15 puntos
Dr. Wagner Jr. 15 puntos
Pimpinela Escarlata 12 puntos
Marco Corleone 11 puntos
El Elegido 9 puntos
El Mesías 9 puntos
Faby Apache 6 puntos
Rain 6 puntos
Cibernético 6 puntos
Rocky Romero 6 puntos
Mini Abismo Negro 6 puntos
Octagoncito 6 puntos
Mary Apache 3 puntos
Koa 3 puntos
Kenzo Suzuki 3 puntos
Decniss 3 puntos
Electroshock 3 puntos
Mascarita Divina 3 puntos
El Zorro 3 puntos
Sugi San 1
@Rob: Those actually sound closer to the correct correct point standings, but not related to any points they’ve shown on TV. They seem to be sticking with the Fabi/Sexi change for some reason though. Odd since it clearly wouldn’t matter to the outcome.
It also looks like they are giving Jack and Marco the bonus points for this last weeks tapings.
