CMLL (TUE) 08/18 Arena Mexico
1) As Jr. & Bengala vs Apocalipsis & Ramstein
2) Horus, Metálico, Tigre Blanco vs Calígula, Inquisidor, Méssala
3) Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño Olímpico, Último Dragoncito vs Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Mascara Dorada vs Hijo de Lizmark, Mr. Niebla, Virus
5) Ephesto, Terrible, Texano Jr. vs Héctor Garza, Shocker, Toscano
Pierrothio gets to celerbate his mask win with a tercera. Fantasma/Mascara/Dorada trios continues to team. They’ve won the last two weeks, though they’re facing an odd combo this week.
CMLL (FRI) 08/21 Arena Mexico
1) Principe & Sensei vs Cholo & Zayco
2) Ángel Azteca, Guerrero Maya Jr., Starman vs Dr. X, Pólvora, Tiger Kid
3) Lady Apache vs Hiroka [lightning]
4) Máximo, Metro, Valiente vs Euforia, Misterioso II, Nosferatu
5) Naito, Ray Mendoza Jr., Yujiro vs Atlantis, Black Warrior, Último Guerrero
6) Felino, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas vs Blue Panther, La Sombra, Místico
Mistico returns to face the usuals. Will they make the mask/hair match official here, one month out? Black Warrior recruits the Guerreros to fight No Limit, which makes as much sense as you’re going to get to keep Mendoza around one more week. Note Azteca in the segunda; LuchandoLibre had a lineup for an Arena Neza show last night where Ultraman Jr. was working the semimain, so I wonder if he’s done here.
Hiroka is 2-0 a singles match.
CMLL (SUN) 08/23 Arena Coliseo
1) Molotov & Trueno vs Camorra & Semental
2) Nitro, Pólvora, Skandalo vs Astro Boy, Delta, Tigre Blanco
3) Estrella Magica, Lluvia, Marcela vs Amapola, La Seductora, Princesa Blanca
4) Hijo del Fantasma, Mascara Dorada, Sagrado vs Naito, Shigeo Okumura, Yujiro
5) Héctor Garza, La Máscara, Místico vs Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero
Blanca/Lluvia goes on. Good for Delta, starting at the segunda level.

Tuesday looks fun until the main event. Could we be building to a future National Trios Titles match between the tecnico team for 3 weeks in a row and the Poder Mexica? Or are they just teaming together randomly and it will go nowhere? Mini’s will surely be fun with Dorada/Pierrothito returning from their Chikara trip and the segunda is as close as we’ll ever get to seeing Los Tigres vs Los Romanos. And look – Rey Misterio Jr. is teaming with them!;)
Friday is pretty blah, especially if the top 3 air on TV. Main could be good though and will surely have to set something up. I’m actually not opposed to a Mistico vs Negro vs Felino match at the Anniversary as it would put the result in doubt and it’s not like Negro/Felino haven’t had issues in the past. Cesar makes a great point though about all the hype the Super Sky Team got recently and already they’re split up for no good reason. What important show does Volador Jr. have that he can’t be subbed for Panther?
Sunday is boring.
Metal sticks out in that match too: where is Niebla?
Nitro is moving pretty slow. Probably just tenative in his return.
Show is also moving slow which is a GREAT CHANGE. Watching CMLL without feeling rushed is fun. No sudden edits and time for replays and intros.
Nice spot by Pega-Pega-PEGASSO!
Where did Nitro disapear on the finish though? Nothing happened to him, he just sorta vanished.
We now return to our regularly scheduled programming of the top 3 matches with tons of segments in betwee the matches.:)
Well that was really short. Flash looked good (even the botched dive was a creative idea). Arkangel not so much.
Interesting to hear the announcers mention Flash made his debut in 1940. He still moves pretty well for a guy his age.
I absolutely love that Angel Azteca Jr. dive!
HHAHAHAHAHAHA ANGEL DE ORO! SQUASHED!
Post should say “Hiroka is 2-0 in singles matches vs Lady Apache in Arena Mexico”. Don’t post and talk on the phone at the same time!
CMLL announcers just cleared it up – Jushin Thunder Lyger is not coming to Mexico in September.
In his place will be Yushi Lyger.
Yushi Lyger, el Japones y el otro Japones.
Good to see Poder Mexica back together in Arena Mexico. Even better that the fans are actually supposed to be cheering for them this week.
Not so great to see Mendoza back in Arena Mexico…
Flash did debut in 1940…. In DC Comics.
Sangre Azteca and Rey Bucanero (<- for the 2nd week in a row) are doing commentary for C3.
@Rob: Rey has been there mostly since the week of the Expo I think. Good way to make use of him while he is out.
What the fuck… Metro is STRONG! That was an impressive finish.
That was a fun match.
BTW, Chikarafans says it was announced that Turbo couldn’t get into the States so he isn’t on the double shot this weekend. BOO!:(
what’s going on with the entrance themes for the main event? They sound dubbed over.
Sounds like Chikara may be doing a worked injury deal with Skayde to get him out of the mixed tag w/ Turbo not available. Probably just gonna do a singles match with the mini’s two nights in a row.
Pierrothito over Dorada in 11 minutes with his finisher according to chikarafans.com. Rematch tomorrow as planned. Something tells me Skayde will get over “feeling ill” by then too.:P
ACM starts with Angel Dorado Jr./Sexy Francis vs X Fly and Black Diamond. X-Fly looks like Super Brazo’s twin now
@Tim: That is not a good look!
Any photos from the AAA show at Foro Scotiabank?
I love watching ACM. Always a brawl near the bar.
Weird seeing Esropion get the win when he jumped to CMLL Puebla a week later. That was a fun match though along with the Purpura match which featured Hijo De Ninja hitting the Aerostar dive. I also had no idea that Mini Psicosis is Jerrito Estrada.
Did they yank the mask off and he was underneath?
@ Alan:
Has Televisa given ANY thought to using Rey or some of the other wrestlers not booked for Friday’s show to do commentary? I realize the Televisa booth is overcrowded as it is, but surely Rey brings more to the table than say Alfonso Morales, who just annoys me.
The ending to C3 this week was pretty sweet as Negro Casas continues to be a great asshole, this time to Volador Jr.
The weird thing about the main event for Friday’s ArMex show is that it has Blue Panther. But during the post-match promo from the C3 show, he stated he was going to step aside and let Sombra and Volador Jr. take on Negro Casas since that wasn’t his battle. So why isn’t Volador Jr. in the main event for the Friday show in Panther’s place? So much for making sense CMLL.
@J. Corzo Cubby: Funny you mention Rey Bucanero. He was on Ras, and I thought the same thing as you. Plus, it would be a great way for him to set up an angle for his return.
@ LLL:
The setup for the C3 announce team the past few weeks has them around the ringside area, which is similar to how the WWE sets up their announce teams. All it really takes to set up an angle for Bucanero would be to have some brawling on the outside into the announce area and bump Bucanero. Or, you could book a dive sequence that takes out the announcing crew and/or Rey Bucanero, and him reacting violently with that.
Is there any reason as to why Sangre Azteca was with the C3 announcers the past few weeks?
@whoever knows: Did AAA air the opener from Puebla today with the good wrestlers?
@Rob: Did AAA air at all today? If so, it must have been very early since I didn’t see it listed at any time after 2:00.
@Alan: I was gonna ask the same thing. I kept checking in but there was a movie that ended at 3:30 (so I assume it began 2 hours earlier), followed by 1 hour of racing and now another movie started so I shut the feed off assuming I had missed it.
So according to the ByL forum there was no AAA TV today. Maybe they got kicked off for working with Fox Sports.
@Rob: Someone should’ve had the presense of mind to check TDN, just in case.
Televisa can’t be happy about Fox. I say that b/c Televisa just launched TDN, and is working with AAA on the video game. Ten years ago, Televisa provided Fox with CMLL and AAA. I remember that. Now things have changed.
@LLL: I’ll confess I didn’t check TDN, but it wasn’t in the listings for the channel. And, it would be odd if they changed the channel just to play an old movie.
I wonder if Televisa is mad at AAA and that had something to do with no show today AND CMLL getting 3 hours at random yesterday. Not sure if I’d be totally unhappy with AAA gone and CMLL constantly at 3 hours.;) (yeah I know, I’d get bored of it eventually)
BTW… Valiente – new champ! YAY!
@Rob: I like Valiente as a champ. I don’t know that I like Sangre losing though. I definitely don’t like that we will probably never see the match.
The next week will be interesting as we wait for information on AAA and their TV deals.
@Alan: Well the most important thing to remember is…
… you need to deliver good news about Puebla TV tonight! Just say NO to strippers vs Poder Mexica and YES to Trueno/Semental in the opener!
Over on ByL, just under the Fake_Mistico post, someone said that they didn’t show AAA on Accion.
In the past, when CMLL didn’t air on Televisa, it didn’t make Accion either. Interesting.
@Rob: in news you won’t be excited about, Toscano was interviewed to start the show. In news everyone should be excited about, Yujiro was interviewed in a Beer Money Inc. shirt right after the Toscano interview!
Puebla kicks off with the opener.
@Alan: SCORE! SSSSSSSSSSSEMENTAL! I hope he uses his awesome finisher.
Tsuki is here for the minis. Looks like maybe he got dinged up during his match.
And here come Toscano…
@Alan: HE SHOWED FOR THAT AND NOT THE CAGE? I don’t understand my little hero. How did he get hurt?
So the strippers are gone and … the segunda too? With Inquisador and friends.
Arg, fell asleep during Puebla and missed most of the semi and main. Hopefully the replay airs on Wednesday.
@Rob: I didn’t notice a specific spot, just suddenly realized he wasn’t taking part in the third fall. I’ll have to watch the match more closely on the replay.
@Alan: OK, I just watched the tape of the first two falls and I clearly wan’t paying much attention during the minis match. Tsuki actually didn’t even make it through the first fall. The replay they kept showing was just him being thrown out of the ring, but he looked pretty limp as this was happening, so I’m thinking maybe he was already hurt coming in and got worse while he was being triple teamed. Maybe when one of the locals tossed him down on another’s knee. I’ve definitely seen him take worse bumps than this in the past, so I would have been tempted to say it was a work so that the DF minis could lose 4 vs 3, but his not showing up on Friday makes me wonder if it was legit.
Has any news shown up anywhere else?
( To quote El Zorro) No No No ….NOOOOOOO!!!! A Tzuki injury, would be awful, absolutley horrifying.
@Alan: Puebla TV went up on youtube thanks to our new hero WARRIORSX2000.
I was gonna make a comment about how after all these months of not seeing him King Jaguar finally returned to TV and still sucks more than ever so now we’ll always have to suffer through his TV matches.
But then Semental killed him to end the match. Problem solved!
Really good opener.
@Alan: Ugh… I don’t think there was any injury involved. Even though he’s one of my all-time favorites even I gotta admit it seemed pretty evident Tzuki showed up “in no condition to work”. They didn’t let him say anything during the promo and he can barely stand on his own two feet while on the apron. He’s just slumped over the ropes and at various points his partners are guiding him around the ring. The only proof you need of those is from 0:32 to 0:55 here -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWbrVg1uLdQ – from stumbling around and almost falling down to swinging at his own partner that would be one completely wasted midget. Sad to watch as a fan of his…
Oh god I just realized he fell off the apron at 1:05. That’s pathetic…
