2009 AAA TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#901)
Mexico: 08/16
US: 09/05

I really need to give and start listing Wagner as a rudo. It just doesn’t make sense to me. Unless they’ve done a lot of work on the crowd that I’ve yet to see (and I am laughable behind, so they may have), the crowd’s more likely to cheer Electro and Silver King than boo Wagner.

Been thinking about how to work this list in, and Alan Stone’s mysterious inclusion in the main event will do.

Electroshock in trios with cruiserweights

  • 01/31: Electro pins Super Fly
  • 02/15: Electro pins Super Fly
  • 04/10: Electro submits Laredo Kid
  • 05/25: Electro submits Alex Koslov
  • 06/07: Electro pins La Parka! (not Jack)
  • 06/30: Electro LOSES

It’s not just that Electro’s team wins, it’s that Electro specifically pins a cruiserweight in the match. It wasn’t just a Super Fly thing – if there’s only one cruiserweight in the match, they are getting beat by Electroshock. Until Jack somehow escaped it (because they wanted to do the gimmicky finish with Parka, I guess), AAA was booking that finish with such consistency, there had to be a purpose behind it. I have absolutely no idea what that purpose could be, but it seems like it might be resuming.

Kinda surprising the semimain isn’t the main. Pre-Wagner, it definitely would’ve been.

Bull Terrier stip seems to work against the strengths of the participants in the match, and doesn’t feel like they’ve built up to it at all, but that’s not how they pick these stips.

First match should be really good, though I wish they’ve could’ve snuck in Laredo or mysterious missing Super Fly. I’m totally sold on Atomic Boy.

  1. I’m also sold on Atomic Boy but can’t help but notice the irony. His style is patterned 100% after Yoshitsune. He does the same rope escapes and evading spots. So when does he make his debut? At the same time AAA brings in Sugi-San.:) Sucks to be Atomic Boy! He was rockin’ on TV last week though and looked fantastic at the Expo which should air next Sunday. The guy is constantly going 100mph. It’s really impressive but he’s limited in the sense he needs to be working against talented rudos who can keep up which limits him to always working opening matches. Can’t see him having any success trying to get Kenzo, Koslov or the Psycho Circus to keep up with him.

I wouldn’t be too worried about the Bull Terrier stips since it’s not like the chains offer no room for movement or the guys keep them on anyhow.

So we’ve had a triangle tag with these same six guys in the segunda. Now we’re having a trios match. At Verano they’re doing a six-way match. What’s left? No way Konnan splits them up b/c that’s like his dream match until Spanky arrives.

    – Six way ladder match at Pena Memorial?
    – Gauntlet?
    – Parejas Incriebles triangle tag?
    – Parejas Incriebles trios?
    – Two seperate three-way matches?

Decent enough taping though. Hope Alan Stone is happy looking up at the lights.

  2. This just might be how it was when the Hell Brothers were facing AAA wrestlers and still getting cheered. I don’t think Wagner has gone rudo that quickly at all, more than likely I see Elctro and Silver turning technico again.

  3. @Anonymous: Super Fly worked the 7/12 taping which aired 2 weeks ago but before that wasn’t seen since May b/c his Triplemania match wasn’t on the broadcast.

He’s had more DTU/MTY TV time lately than regular AAA TV.

  4. AAA keeps trying to fit a square into a circle. They keep wanting Messias to be the big hero which he will never be.

Just give the crowd what they want and let Wagner be the hero.

  5. Sad to see Queretaro not sold out. Crowd is hot though. Romero is in about the same position he was in in CMLL.

Koslov seems a little better off.
