Yujiro beat Shocker in Arena Coliseo’s main event, with his feet on the ropes. In Guadalajara, Negro Casas lost to Mistico by DQ yet again. Full results of both tomorrow.
Ovaciones talks about Mistico‘s trip to Japan. They say Mima is going over on 09/10.
Alfonso Morales and Villano III talk about how there ain’t trios like the old days. Also, get off my lawn. Delightfully, Poder del Norte, Fueza Aerea (not really a trio) and Psycho Circus are mention in the same sentence, being on the same level. I’m not arguing the point, it’s just a hilarious truth. Anyway, the aim in this article seems to be blaming wrestlers for wanting to be individuals and not teams (which I’m not sure is a problem but let’s roll with it) – that seems to be me to be fully untrue. There aren’t big famous trios because CMLL and AAA isn’t interested in pushing set trios as top units, they rather mix people around. I’m sure, say, Virus and the Infernales wouldn’t mind a big push as a trio, but they’ve got to get more than one week in a row teaming for that to work, and they’re not getting that unless they’re challenging for a title.
Mistico drew 22,000 to an afternoon show. (It was a make up for a kid’s day show, and, oh yea, it was free and part of a fair. SHHHH.)
Cesar looks at questions and answers from Infierno en el Ring and CMLL’s new wrestlers. Cesar seems to be working under the impression Horus really is the son of Faraon (or the son of someone else in lucha, I guess). I’m still confused on that point, but he’d definitely know better than I.
LuchaWorld has Robert on last year’s Infierno en el Ring (feelings have changed on Negro Casas a bit since then, right?) and 10/27/08 Puebla, plus KrisZ’s news update.

I agree about the trios. One problem is that no one really comes out as a team anymore. They all come out separately, and with their own music. That aspect hurts if you want to establish teams, but helps when trying to get the individual over.
Rob. I read your comments in spanish about anniversary. I too thought Averno could lose his mask. Now I think Averno will be in a longer feud with Fantasma(who I like), and wonder if Felino could be losing his mask?
and what about the trio of Averno, Mephisto & Ephesto. These guys have hundred and hundred of match together in the last 3 years.
@Mr. Mystery: True. And Averno has been separated from them at times, to be elevated into a main event star, or so it seems.
Oh, the very sight of Rogue makes me laugh. He was on Ras de Lona, where he described himself as preferring matwork over a flying style. The name is cool, but he looks so un-rogue.
I like the new generation of females in CMLL.
@LLL: You’ve obviously never seen a match with them.
I can’t wait to find out who Rouge/Rogue/Shithead is related to b/c then we’ll know how far he will be pushed down our throats…
… that was a bad line to use.
@Rob: I’ve never seen him wrestle, but would like to. I misspelled his name too. It’s Rouge. He’s on the episode of Ras de Lona with the Pierroth interview.
Ras de Lona spelled it Rouge, but I’ve seen it spelled Rogue elsewhere. I still say “Rouge” is a mispelling and they want Rogue, but we’ll see.
Magadan pronounced it, “Roosh”. If they do mean the color red, he’s not doing a good job of getting it over, wearing black trunks. Either way, I want to see him wrestle.
@LLL: LLL = Daniel?
Remember Keith, this is CMLL. They have a wrestler named Princesa Blanca who never wears white. They used to employ Mascara Purpura who wore red. They have a well-known wrestler named Valiente and recently brought in a wrestler named Principe Valiente b/c surely that wouln’t cause any confusion – especially when the announcers out of nowhere began refereing to the actual Valiente as “El Principe Valiente”. And who can forget Vangelis and La Nazi being on the same roster yet not interacting at all. The last two nazis on the earth don’t want to team up? I find that hard to believe!
