here’s what I’m doing for new YouTube channels

My plan was to replace thecubsfan YouTube channel. I’ve been working on it for the last few weeks, starting some new channels and uploading videos. The problem is it’s going to be a lot more spread out than before. I’d like not to get more copyright strikes on YouTube but it’ll also inevitably happen as long as I keep uploading wrestling matches. I’m spreading out what I’m doing in hopes to make sure one channel going down doesn’t take everything down. It does mean you’ll have to look in a few more places to find everything.

I’m going to continue streaming the Friday night regionblocked shows. They’ll be streaming on the new luchabloglive YouTube account. I’ll be posting the link on Twitter too, so most of you won’t notice a difference.. Those shows will not stay on the channel long after the show airs; I’ll aim to take them down the next morning or earlier once the CMLL official version is unlocked.

New CMLL (Sunday/Guadalajara) matches will continue to upload, but now on my old Dailymotion account. The impression I was left about old channel is CMLL doesn’t mind me those matches but is unable to prevent them from getting strikes on YouTube. DailyMotion doesn’t seem to care. They do seem to be annoyed when you upload too much at once, so so shows may be slower up than before.

Non-Big 2 will go on the YouTube Luchablog vault account. I hadn’t been getting any of those lately, so I’ve been using it to upload ‘abandoned’ TV shows like Noches de Coliseo and may add more as time permits. I’m not going to take the CMLL down that’s up there because it seems safe.

Matches I shoot (bootleg?) myself are up at YouTube Luchablog Originals account. I’ve had ideas about making original videos (like recaps or explainers or something) but I’ve never gotten the courage to actually do it and now I’d be worried about tripping a copyright sensor in the product so maybe not.

I’m not doing a Google Drive or a similar set up right now. I may get there eventually. I’ve realized that my backups are useful for me but maybe only me in the current form. I can figure out what “20100305cmllatv.avi” translates to with a few clicks, but that’s not much use to most. It did get me started in a process to clean up and better organize my library: all full shows are being broken down individual match files, renamed with the date the matches took place, and the list of people in it from my database to make searching quicker. That’ll take a long time to do, but maybe I can think about putting them somewhere once that’s all done. I’m willing to upload matches on request to the Dailymotion channel when I have the time, and I’ll be looking for historically important stuff (title matches, apuesta matches, weird guest shots) to make sure it’s available.

This is all free for now, though it may not always remain that way. I’m just not up for charging for this during a pandemic and a global depression; any dollar ought to go to someone who needs it more than me. Maybe something for later, and likely I’ll turn on monetization on the luchablog original channel at some point.
