16:38. Rudos took 2/3. Hijo de Centella Roja’s first match here since February.
2) Lluvia, Sanely, Skadi b Amapola, La Metálica, Tiffany
19:57. Tecnicas took fall 1, rudas took falls 2, Metalica & Lluvia ended fall three on a double pin. They fought post match.
3) Dulce Gardenia, Rey Cometa, Stigma b Okumura, Olímpico, Perverso
13:31. Tecnicos took 2/3.
4) Atlantis, Atlantis Jr., Flyer b Hijo del Villano III, Templario, Vangellys
9:43. Tecnicos took 2/3.
5) Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Soberano Jr. b Carístico, Místico, Terrible [Relevos Increíbles]
10:07. Team Casas took 1/3, with Casas sneaking a foul in on Caristico. Caristico wanted a singles match next week.
This was on three hours earlier, so I waited for it to be over and then watched it. That wasn’t a good idea. The Mexico City edecanes dance numbers were the only extra effort on the show.
Lluvia/Metalica seems to be coming soon. The main event feud has gone from Dragon Lee/Volador to Terrible/Casas to Caristico/Casas, so I’m not entirely sure that singles match is happening next week.
IWRG (MON) 09/16/2019 Arena Naucalpan
1) Biosfera & Príncipe Jr. b Acero II & Águila Oriental
2) Especie Maligna, Voltar, Voltex b Ángel Dorado I, Galactus, Spider Fly
3) Canival, Carnicero, Güero Palma b Ángel Estrella Jr., Dinámico, Noise Boy
4) Adrenalina, Canibal Jr., Dragón Fly, Guerrero Olímpico, Hip Hop Man, Historico, Marado, Voraz b Atomic Star, Auzter, Cheff Benito, Chicanito, Death Metal, Puma de Oro, Rey Halcón, Shalom [Torneo FILL 85]
IWRG (Black Terry) vs Argentino (La Mosca). Shalom replaced Mexica. Hip Hop Man was the mystery man on the Argentina side, making his return from injury.
5) Fresero Jr. & Mr. Iguana b Demonio Infernal & Warrior Jr.
Warrior Jr. replaced Eterno (AAA)
6) Cerebro Negro, Fly Warrior, Hijo de Canis Lupus b Aramis, Imposible, Relámpago
7) Dragón Bane © b Toxin [IWRG REY DEL AIRE]
6th defense
Sounded like this was a pretty good if very long show, though the main event didn’t go well.
Klandestino (MON) 09/16/2019 Arena Lopez Mateos [Estrellas del Ring]
1) Fandango & Multifacetico b Chilango & Mr. Pachuco
2) Alas de Oro, Alas De Plata, Centella Oriental, Mexica b Cometa, Leviatham, Sádico, Yoruba
Cometa replaced Impulso
3) Aeroboy, Trauma I, Trauma II b Emperador Azteca, Multifacetico, Último Legendario
Multifacetico replaced Imposible.
4) Hijo de LA Park, LA Park, Rey Fénix (Indie) DDQ Bárbaro Cavernario, Dragón Lee (CMLL), La Bestia Del Ring
double DQ when Fenix & Dragon Lee pulled each other’s mask. They kept brawling afterwards.
5) Rush b LA Park and Penta 0M
Rush pinned Penta after a foul.
Arena Lopez Mateos has had frightful crowds on Sundays with locals. They still can draw well when they bring in names (which I guess says something about the names on the Sunday cards, or just running on Sunday in general.) The building looks packed for this one. Fenix & Dragon Lee keep doing things in their matches as if they’re building up a feud and then also giving the impression they’d like to not wrestle each other again. Fenix was harsh towards Dragon Lee in a post-match interview.
AAA (MON) 09/16/2019 Arena Neza [+LuchaTV]
1) Rey Caballero & Shaman Jr. b Laberinto & Príncipe Neza
2) Tiger Boy & Villano III Jr. b Dinastía & Eclipse Jr.
3) Faby Apache & Lady Shani b Keyra & Lady Maravilla
Keyra’s return from injury (ankle) after two months
4) Neza Kid Jr. & Neza Kid Sr. DQ Dinamic Black & Súper Nova
Dinamic Black replaced John Tito. Nova tossed his mask to draw the DQ.
5) Carta Brava, Mocho Cota Jr., Tito Santana b Aerostar, Australian Suicide, Niño Hamburguesa
Australian Suicide replaced Myzteziz
6) La Parka, Máximo, Octagón Jr. b Dave The Clown, Monsther Clown, Murder Clown
Octagon Jr. was the mystery wrestler
7) Hijo de LA Park, LA Park, LA Park Jr. DQ Fénix, Pentagón Jr., Psycho Clown
LA Park tossed his mask to Psycho
Seemed like a strong turnout out here as well. It is strange in retrospect that there was hope for Keyra to return in time for TripleMania when she’s just now stepping back into the ring a month later. Octagon Jr. is probably going to be surprise luchador a lot for the next month.
CMLL tonight has Volador/Cavernario in Arena Mexico. Volador & Cavernario have had a lot of good matches against each other, even if they tend to be the same match until the last minute or two. Volador did not have a strong match with Dragon Lee in his last high profile long-form singles match, though he did better playing a heel against Negro Casas. Not sure how they’ll end up playing it here. It is a Tuesday show, so maybe expectations should be kept in check.
This is an overall better Tuesday show than usual though. NGD took Audaz, Soberano and Stuka in the semi-main. The Panthers & Maya take on the midcard rudo squad of Misterioso, Sagrado, and Tiger. The full Cancerberos team up for the first time this year in Arena Mexico against Drone, Fuego and Star Jr. The show opens with a minis trios and a prelim tag match (where Yago exists again.) The show streams at the normal time of 7:30 pm.
Guadalajara tonight has Ultimo Guerrero vs Dragon Lee and Metalica vs La Jarochita for the Mexican Women’s championship. Metalica already getting into a feud with Lluvia tips the decision there. We probably won’t see it unless a fan takes their own video. Maybe less of a chance to see the whole thing, since I’ll be traveling and hoping the recording I set up works.
CMLL acknowledged Shoko Nakajima will be coming to the promotion soon.
Rayo, Dante Caballero and Brain Johnson from Ring of Honor’s Future of Honor developmental promotion have been announced for DTU in October.
Halcon Blanco took La Krisys’ hair in Arena Aficion.
LuchaWorld has this week’s Poster-Mania.
Lineups
CMLL (SUN) 09/22/2019 Arena México
1) Arkalis & Bengala vs Apocalipsis & Príncipe Odín Jr.
2) La Guerrera, Princesa Sugehit, Silueta vs Amapola, La Infernal, La Seductora
3) Black Panther, Blue Panther Jr., Rey Cometa vs Dark Magic, Universo 2000 Jr., Vangellys
4) Stuka Jr. vs Luciferno [lightning]
5) Soberano Jr., Titán, Valiente vs Ephesto, Mr. Niebla, Templario
6) Cuatrero, Forastero, Sansón vs Ángel de Oro, Diamante Azul, Niebla Roja
Princesa Sugehit suffered what was reported as a concussion on June 1st, so this would be her return. There has been three Bengalas in the time that CMLL has had one Bengala, though I think AAA’s got more out of theirs.
CMLL (SUN) 09/22/2019 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Cosmos & Fantástico vs Frenético & Thunder Boy
2) El Divino & Mágico vs Demonio Maya & Demonio Rojo
3) Fugaz, Johnny Dinamo, Luminoso vs Exterminador, Furia Roja, Guerrero de la Muerte
4) Neutrón & Rayman vs Gran Kenut & León Blanco
5) Gallo, Javier Cruz Jr., Leo, Omar Brunetti vs Joker, Maléfico, Sádico, Satánico
More people from the indies filing in here, as well as Satanico making an appearance. I guess Satanico could be the guy in charge here now, but I really don’t know.
MDA (SUN) 10/06/2019 Arena Naucalpan
1) Blue Monsther, Legendario, Tempo vs Dick Angelo, Magnético, Raven
2) Chef Benito & Chicanito vs Mexica & Neza Kid
3) Demasiado & Yawy vs Alas de Oro & Alas De Plata
4) Hijo De Dos Caras vs Demonio Infernal
5) Aramis & Imposible vs Fly Warrior & Puma de Oro
6) El Divo & Sádico vs Trauma I & Trauma II
7) Carístico & Dragón Lee vs Dragón Bane & Hijo de Canis Lupus
Naucalpan’s busy summer continues into the fall. They’ve already got a Mexico vs the World themed show for Sunday, and an ELITE show for two days prior to this one. Caristico & Dragon Lee vs Dragon Bane & Canis Lupus should be interesting if maybe not smooth. Match 5 may outperform it.
AAA TV (SAT) 10/19/2019 Coliseo La Concordia, Orizaba, Veracruz
Heroes Inmortales XIII
1) Argenis, Lady Shani, Octagoncito, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Australian Suicide, Demus, Mamba, Vanilla
2) Lady Maravilla & Villano III Jr. © vs Chik Tormenta & Látigo and Big Mami & Niño Hamburguesa
3) Drago © vs Daga [AAA LA]
4) Dinastía, Octagón Jr., Puma King vs Abismo Negro Jr., Arez, Súper Fly
5) Aerostar vs Laredo Kid, Murder Clown, Myzteziz Jr., Dragón Bane, Dave The Clown, Monsther Clown, ?, La Hiedra, Faby Apache, La Parka Negra [Copa Antonio Pena]
6) Fénix © vs Kenny Omega [AAA HEAVY]
7) Psycho Clown & Rey Escorpión vs Averno & Dr. Wagner Jr. and Pentagón Jr. & Texano Jr. and Chessman & Pagano [Relevos Increíbles, cage]
AAA hasn’t officially announced this card, though it’s being advertised locally (as 100% Confirmed.)
The main event looks like Blue Demon was busy that day. (He’s on the original poster.) I’m not sure how a relevos increibles match inside of a cage actually works. This seems like something that could set up Escorpion/Psycho or Chessman/Pagano to close out the year.
Fenix vs Kenny Omega is indeed on. This seemed like a tough match to put together when it was announced at TripleMania. Now that Omega is seemingly doing a losing streak book, maybe a finish isn’t so tough after all.
Figure on the mystery person(s?) in the Copa Antonio Pena to be more prelim guys in new gear. You may recall AAA trying that in last year’s match with Black Danger (Espectro) and Ultimo Maldito (Kahoz), and then quickly walking it all back.
My theories on why Daga won AAA Cruiserweight title shot in New York and now is challenging for the Latin American title
- Laredo Kid was supposed to be in that match defending his title, they just changed it to a #1 contenders match without thinking about it when he was replaced (and Aerostar or Puma were meant to be in Chris Dickinson’s spot)
- they just forgot which title Drago has
It’s strange to go from Big Mami/Nino Hamburguesa/Lady Maravilla stuff on almost every TV taping to nothing with those three together but they’re still getting a title shot. It does fit just keeping the stories in place in between each big show.
I would bet on the Octaogncito being a new Octagoncito. The last one is probably still Mini Rey Misterio and Konnan had said more minis would be debuting soon.
Note that this is a week after the Los Angeles show, where zero matches have been announced as of yet. It would be for the best to announce something while people are still talking about AAA at all, though perhaps waiting until the show airs on AXS on Friday might be the idea; time. Or, they’ll just not announce anything at all.
