recaps
I watched the Nacion Lucha Libre show because it was the debut but do not anticipate posting a recap for every week. They’re treating it like televised spot shows, so I’ll add anything that seems worth the time to the indie watch later pile. It doesn’t seem actively bad, it just also doesn’t seem to be doing anything unique or interesting.
I didn’t have the Puebla Soberano/Casas match rated as high as the Arena Mexico, which means there’s not a match I’ve rated great from that promotion this month. You have to back to early (Cavernario/Templario) last month to find one. This is all just one dork’s opinion – I think it’s definitely fair people would have the LA Park/Rush trios higher and maybe you enjoy CMLL more than me so the baseline’s a little higher – but the shows feel deep in a rut. A common point of emphasis in 2018 CMLL was LA Park/Fenix/Penta related matches were carrying a lot of excitement and CMLL would be hurting for energetic matches without them. Only Park is around, barely, and the issues that have been there for a while are sort of bubbling up. (Lacking an Aniversario program, or at least an over one, also hurts.) I’m writing this all on Saturday, so maybe the Angel de Oro & Niebla Roja vs Euforia & Gran Guerrero match was something special. I wouldn’t count them out. I also don’t feel like there are many matches I’m very excited about seeing right now in CMLL.
