What happened:

Joker Driver

Los Ingobernables got made at Atlantis for trying to win the match in the first fall, then made sure he didn’t get the win in the third fall so they could cheat and win themselves three seconds later. Somehow, this set up a rematch next week, though the ultimate outcome is probably Atlantis vs Mascara or Rush. (Or a tag team match, but that’d be crazy.)

Diamante Azul caused the referee to get knocked down. Diamante Azul fouled Pierroth. Azul could’ve pinned Pierroth and got the pinfall win, but tossed his mask to Pierroth to draw the DQ instead. Diamante Azul may not be a smart guy.

Money was thrown in for the Panthers/Revolucionarios match.

this ended badly for Pequeno Joker

Policeman/Espiritu continued with Policman kicking Espíritu until he was finally disqualified. Espíritu squeezed out a small package to take the second fall and the win. They agreed to a hair match next week.

The lineups may have said “Joker” but the announcers are still calling him Pequeño Joker. Malayo & Joker had matching gear, warming up for the non-existent Puebla tag team tournament.

Thoughts

Revolucioanrios are the masters of the low dropkick

Main was a hybrid of the usual match to send everyone home happy with an angle to set up a feud (though not that one that’s actually happening next week), and really didn’t succeed greatly for either. Ingobernables have no reason to get along with Atlantis, but are apparently obsessed with getting credit for a win no one will remember next week. Least of all them. This was fine, I guess.

Pierroth/Azul wasn’t the worst match I’ve seen, but the double shouldebrlock was awful. There were some points in their favor, they tried when they got around to trying, but the main way they got to a ten minute was Pierroth doing a lot of stalling and low intensity brawling in the ring. Pierroth still is doing spots he sucks at; the Daniel Bryan kicks are so horrible that they’re hiding them on camera. He whiffed on a chop and the ones who hit didn’t seem any harder. The finish was garbage, only notable for CMLL not giving Pierroth post-mask loss wins. This was a dumb use of my time to watch and your time to read this paragraph.

one GIF to demonstrate which is the better Panther brother

Revolucionarios/Panthers was the match they’ve done before adapted to Puebla environment and maybe downscaled slightly. I still liked it, the heavy amount of convincing near falls plays well for me, but it also didn’t feel better than the previous streamed match. It’s still good, and nice to see Panther actually win one of his epics. We did learn The Panther not only has the best tope in the immediately family, but he’s also smart enough to not wear the generic singlet after it look bad the first time. His brother is not quite there.

The tercera had the problem of following a boring match that was rudo heavy by laziness with another match that was rudo heavy by storyline. I’m interesting in seeing if these guys can do anything in a singles apuesta match, but I wasn’t that interested in this one.

PIERROTH CAUGHT A DIVE

The second match is totally skippable. Rudos felt like they took 1.9 falls, then were not willing to go with the técnicos at all at the end of the second fall. The técnicos got two and half minutes to look good and then they were just put down. No one screwed up anything, but this was boring.

The opener didn’t light anyone’s world on fire. It was not that much better than a standard opener. It was notable for being an all rookie (or at least more recent addition) match, comparable to the all DF rookie match last match last Tuesday. This was the better match of the two, with no big gaffes and some more impressive matches. I was more optimistic the DF guys could turn into something, because there’s at least a chance there and not one here.
