Recapped: 01/25/2017
What happened: Rey Bucanero and Stuka’s names got pulled out of the hat, so now they’re feuding. Rey seemed to be trying, but not enough for me to want to watch the build up trios match.
What was good: The fourth and fifth matches were good, though maybe I’ve subliminal put Tuesday matches on a curve now. The second match was an abomination.
Where can I watch it: It’s on CMLL’s channel.

Match Time: 20:38
Review: [bad] I wasn’t going to review this one, but then the rudos were so bad that I could not leave it without notice. Signo was no good, Canelo was no good, Arkangel was awful. The técnicos were fine, Star Jr. & Flyer are an OK team, it’s not their fault. Arkangel failing to catch a tornillo right in front of him would get a student sent back to the school, and he’s the guy teaching the school.
Match 3: Fuego vs Skándalo in a lightning match
Arena México, 01/24/2017
Video: VideosOficialesCMLL
Winner: Fuego (La Guelaguetza)
Match Time: 6:30
Review: [ok] a decent Fuego exhibition, with Skandalo doing very little memorable himself. That’s actually a good thing, I didn’t need to see his very routine offense, and I got to see Fuego do Fuego things. The one man show wasn’t enough to make it good on it’s own, but it could’ve been worse.
Match 4: Pegasso, Stigma, Tritón vs Misterioso Jr., Sagrado, Virus
Arena México, 01/24/2017
Video: VideosOficialesCMLL

- Triton guillotine legdrop Virus (5:29)

- Virus kneebar Triton (4:36)
- rudos
- Sagrado Buca Storm Stigma (3:54)
- Misterioso kneebar Pegasso (3:54)
Winner: rudos (2/3)
Match Time: 13:59
Review: [good] Virus was a fantastic evil man and Triton looked cool, which is really enough for me. Virus getting into a fight with Pegasso in the first fall and Virus being a wily vet to trip up Stigma and Triton in the third fall were very good Virus moments. Virus & Sagrado are two thirds of their way to a good trio. I’m not sure what submission hold Misterioso was trying for at the end and I remain unconvinced he knows either.
Match 5: Ángel de Oro, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa vs Ripper, Sam Adonis, Vangellys

- Angel de Oro mecedora Ripper (2:35)
- Guerrero Maya huracanrana Vangellys (2:35)
- técnicos
- Guerrero Maya top rope splash Sam Adonis (5:21)
- Rey Cometa frog splash Vangellys (6:13)
Winner: técnicos (2/3)
Match Time: 14:42
Review: [good] Another perfectly enjoyable midcard match, went along smoothly even I couldn’t really recite back to you half the things people did. It’s nice get Adonis away from Johnny Idol and in a match just opposing the Mexicans. Not everything goes perfectly well – Adonis’ landing on the backdrop into the ring looked like a harsh landing – but he brings something different to these matches and they could use more variety. Cometa is getting good at landing his frogsplash from a variety of angles.
Match 6: Atlantis, Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Terrible
Arena México, 01/24/2017

- Valiente huracanrana Shocker (3:02)

Winner: técnicos (1/2)
Match Time: 9:39
Notes: Rey Bucanero and Stuka Jr. are suddenly, inexplicable feuding.
