Recapped: 11/07/2016
What happened: La Mascara, Euforia and Gran Guerrero beat the Sky Team to set up a trios title match. Negro Casas and Atlantis feuded and Casas won clean.
What was good:. Nothing. Not much was truly bad, but it was colorless time filler lucha, with out at least one highlight match. An easy skip.
Where can I watch it: It’s on CMLL’s channel.

Review: [ok] generic match; the técnicos really didn’t do much but didn’t get a chance to do a lot. It was a lot of rudo control, and not rudo control in an interesting way. Rey Apocalipsis & Toro Bill’s entertaining matches have been few this year; they’ve improved their prematch presentation but their actual matches have gone the other way. They still seem competent at working with the técnicos, but the matches are very plain for a team that’s trying to be very entertaining.

Match Time: 13:44
Review: [ok] this match ended with the técnicos going for triple dives, being cut off, and being beat five seconds later. That was a fitting end for this not every exciting match. It’s very barely an OK. Rudos spent their comeback shoving and elbowing and not doing much more. I guess they’re trying to be bullies, but it came off as if they were trying to exert as little effort as possible. The real winner of this match is whoever played a sad song on their trumpet as the rudos were losing the second fall. Stigma had a sketchy night.
Match 4: Atlantis, Johnny Idol, Máximo Sexy vs Negro Casas, Shocker, Vangellys
Arena Puebla, 10/24/2016
Video: VideosOficialesCMLL
- rudos
- Shocker crucifix cradle Máximo (3:37)
- Vangellys perfectplex Johnny Idol (3:54)
- técnicos
- Máximo springboard armdrag half crab Vangellys (3:18)
- Johnny Idol springboard dropkick Shocker (3:51)
- rudos
- Negro Casas casita Atlantis (2:52)
Winner: rudos (1/3)
Match Time: 10:37
Notes: Casas attacks and beats up Atlantis even before Casas’ partners get there. Referee actually misses Shocker appearing to tap out to Idol’s crossface before Casas gets a three count, but that wasn’t part of the story and might have just been Shocker slapping the mat selling.
Review: [ok] This match peaked before it started, in the prematch brawl brawl with Negro Casas & Atlantis, and then never was much interesting again. This is easily a below average without that. Largely another walk thru, with nothing going on but that feud. I can’t believe they didn’t end up the match after focusing on it so much, but it’s CMLL.
Match 5: Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr. vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, La Máscara
Arena Puebla, 10/24/2016
Video: VideosOficialesCMLL
- rudos
- rudos triple submission (2:250
- rudos
- Gran Guerrero Pulpo Guerrero Mistico (2:53)
Winner: rudos (1/2)
Match Time: 5:18
Notes: Rudos attack the técnicos before the bell, and challenge for the trios titles after. The Sky Team accepts
Review: [below average] This was a straight build up match to next week, saving the hot stuff for that match, which makes sense in the bigger picture but a poor fit to main event such a dry show. Crowd was really hot at the end of the show, and were cooled down after a triple dive was cut off again. This was short and really had nothing to do it. The rudos being insistent on Euforia doing the group submission despite being completely unable to actually do it was funny, but probably not meant to be funny.
