What happened: Psycho/Pagano, Avenro/Chessman vs Faby/Mary and Pentagon/Mundo were all announced in Noti AAA. Averno & Chessman did a parody of Faby & Mary, who cost them their match via musical distraction. Pagano beat Psycho Clown yet again, though this time by countout. Big Mami debuted
What was good: Eh, nothing unless you like the Fronterizos stuff more than me. The other two matches weren’t much.
Where can I watch it: It’s on my channel and AAA, plus there are handhelds readily available since it was a Mexico City show.
Previously: Pentagon won the Latin America title from Psycho Clown with help from Pagano. Cage beat the heavyweight champion and the #1 contender, then just took the belt.
This week (and every week after this) has TripleMania plugs at the end of segment and the start of many of them. It flows better on TV than on YouTube, where you’re seeing the same plug twice in about a minute.
Match 1: Big Mami, Faby Apache, Mary Apache vs La Hiedra, Lady Shani, Taya
Gimnasio Olímpico Juan de la Barrera, Ciudad de México, Distrito Federal, 07/08/2016
Video: RUDO VISION, Lucha Libre AAA, thecubsfan
Winner: tecnicas (Big Mami running sit Lady Shani)
Match Time: 8:12
Notes: Big Mami is the debuting independent luchadora Big Mama, with a very slightly different name. Her character is not so different than Goya Kong, but a little bit smaller. Also, AAA suddenly has a ring bell, but it’s not used (or at least audible) after this match.
Review: [ok] The entire AAA women’s division in one not at the level of some of the recent Apache’s matches, which is probably fine with the rudas: they went with Big Mami’s comedy spots instead of getting clocked in the head by the Apaches. This was a little weirdly set up, with the tecnicas getting two random comebacks, but it was mostly about letting the new lady be showcased. She’s not great, but she’s different from everyone else who’s still around. I’d prefer more great wrestling people, but it did strike me how the three rudas seem like slight variations of each other, so there’s an advantage to having someone different to throw at them.
After a long preamble by Jesus Zuniga explaining the storyline, he says we’re going to see Faby & Mary come to the ring to explain why they want the match with the Apaches. They keep the lights down as they come in, but it’s very obviously Chessman and Averno dressed up as India Maria wearing paper face masks before they even get in the ring. We get a lot of Marisela Pena (not) reacting sots. Faby/Averno sells vegetables, Mary/Chessman brags about wrestling in Japan against really great luchadoras, and Faby/Averno does the same. This is a segment filled with references that are going over my head, but they do eventually find a couple of people laughing or at least smiling at the segment. Averno & Chessman to no great reaction (though Jesus is stunned!) Averno throws a fit at the crowd for supporting the Apches over them, I guess. There’s really no ending to the segment, Averno & Chessman just storm off.
Match 2: Aerostar, Bengala, Drago vs Averno, Chessman, Ricky Marvin
Gimnasio Olímpico Juan de la Barrera, Ciudad de México, Distrito Federal, 07/08/2016
Video: Lucha Libre AAA, thecubsfan
Winner: técnicos (Drago’s Lair on Ricky Marvin)
Match Time: 7:10
Notes: All the rudos bring chairs to the ring, which begin to be used about 90 seconds in for the rudos to get control of the match. Bengala has a new black outfit. About six and a half minutes in, Ricky & Averno have Drago pinned with a double powerbomb, but are distracted when the Apache’s music plays. Drago doesn’t kick out, Averno lets go to stare at the entrance way. Averno walks off, much to Ricky’s consternation, and Drago cradles Ricky for the win.
The Apaches show up about 30 seconds later. Faby points out that they’re so scared of them that just their entrance music caused the rudos to lose. The técnicos bolt to the back, off camera. Averno tries throwing a chair at Faby, but Faby defects it with her own chair. They try throwing chairs at each other and just hit the chairs, with security keeping them apart.
Review: [ok] Match was clearly edited, and what we saw didn’t have enough time to get rolling much in anyway. It was some dives as a backdrop to the Faby/Mary vs Averno/Chessman feud, which the crowd did react to as a big deal. Aerostar made it through the match in once piece, which was an improvement, but they got those técnicos out of the picture as quick as possible as to not interfere with the story they were actually telling. I hate the idea of someone giving up a pin just because music played, but at least they had Faby pointed it out as the rudos being scared.

Match 3: Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Damián 666, Nicho el Millionario, Pagano
Gimnasio Olímpico Juan de la Barrera, Ciudad de México, Distrito Federal, 07/08/2016
Video: RUDO VISION, thecubsfan, Lucha Libre AAA
Winner: rudos (Pagano COR)
Match Time: 11:57
Notes: Rudos attack the técnicos with chair as they’re walking around ringside. Tirantes is referee. Rudos untie the técnicos masks. Nicho’s knee goes out when Murder Clown is setting him up on the apron, and he’s stretchered out. Psycho and Pagano find themselves climbing a light poster about 11 minutes in, with Bestia 666 running in and throwing a drink in Psycho Clown’s face, which seems to not really affect him. Pagano and Psycho do the exactly same plunge thru a modified table as they did in Naucalpan, Pagano mostly misses it. Pagano rolls back in the ring, and the other five people are down or are MIA. Nicho is stretchered out.
Psycho Clown challenges Pagano to a mask vs hair match at TripleMania. Pagano seems shocked and indicates he won’t do the match which was just announced as happening twenty minutes ago. Pagano instead hits Psycho Clown in the head with a chair and takes his mask.
Review: [ok] Nothing but the usual wandering brawl, with nearly the same finish as Nauclapan with Pagano & Psycho Clown. This style doesn’t do much for me and the times they were actually in the ring included a few lost moments. I don’t have much use for this, but Murder Clown doing the biggest every 619 was pretty great, I cannot lie.
