11/25: Neza, IWRG, GDL, Mistico’s NJPW match

CMLL
CMLL

CMLL (SUN) 11/16 Arena Neza [SuperLuchas #291]
1) Motocross II & Principe Tapatio b Dragon Xtreme & Furia Roja
2) Principe Mexiquense b Súper Comando, Rayo Tapatío I, Rayo Tapatío II, Emperador, Damian el Inmortal, Bengala, Flecha, Estruendo, Artillero, Ramstein, Starman [cibernetico]
3) Efesto, Hooligan, Mephisto b Black Warrior, Fabian el Gitano, Starman
4) Blue Panther, Canelo Casas, Hijo del Solitario DQ Villano III, Villano IV, Villano V
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Felino, Heavy Metal DQ Atlantis, Averno, Último Guerrero

This was the Scorpio Jr. show, with a lineup different than originally announced. Local promoter was MD, and it looks like they might be trying to run Neza regularly (again?). UG fouled Wagner and got caught fo the DQ. The Canelo Casas in the semimain was not Heavy Metal working under his old gimmick, but a young kid under that name. Surely related, perhaps someone new, perhaps someone who’s usually a Tiger or a Puma.

IWRG (SUN) 11/23 Arena Naucalpan
1) Shuriken b Soldado del Dibalo
2) King Drako & Nemesis (IWRG) b Chico Che & Eragon
3) Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro b Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II, Marco Rivera
4) Head Hunter I, Toxico AAA, Veneno b Multifacético, Solar I, Ultramán Jr.
5) Hijo del Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. DQ Arlequin & el Hijo del Pierroth [IWRG IC TAG]

Arlequin pinned MA2K Jr. for the win, but the referee belatedly realized the challenger got the pin because Pierroth II ran in and fouled Mascara.

Maybe the year doesn’t end on 12/12 after all. CMLL is sending “more than 20 wrestlers” for a special show at Arena Coliseo Guadalajara on 12/14. Mistico, a women’s match and a minis match are promised, as well as half price tickets. This sure seems like counter programming the Guadalajara Lucha Libre Festival, scheduled for the same weekend. The local arena is also running a show at the local children’s hospital, only for the children, on 12/10.

The latest SuperLuchas also reveals Mistico’s match at the Tokyo Dome for NJPW is currently scheduled to be Prince Devitt, Ryusuke Taguchi, and Mistico vs Jado, Gedo, and Averno. If not for the thousands of miles of distance and the many hours of travel, Jado and ego would’ve had to be Perros del Mal members and probably would still be in Jauria del Terror (if they ever get their own t-shirts), right? It’s a similar ethos. It does occur to me now that if Mistico is in Japan on 01/04, CMLL’s not going to go back to Arena Mexico until 01/09. He’s got to be on that card, or why bother doing it.

Elsewhere in the same magazine, Dark Angel mentions going to Japan in February.

Ovaciones also reports the DF Lucha Libre commission will be giving out it’s annual awards on 12/03.

(SoloLuchas) Shocker talks about his return to CMLL. Shocker likes the idea of grouping with Toscano and Garza, wants to do another Guapos U, and would team with Scorpio and Zumbido if CMLL brought them in.

AAA looks at the Brazo vs Porky feud.

On TelevisaDeportes’s site, Sombra talks about his path to joining CMLL. He was going to move to Mexico City at 15 to train there, but Stuka Jr. convinced him he should stay around home and work more.

Al Filo del Ring interviews Anubis of IWRG.

Todo por el Todo has posted for Santo at a comic book show in Madrid and the Todo x el Todo shows there at the end of the month.

A new exhibit opens up at Blue Demon’s gallery today.

On 12/13 in Minatitlan, there’s a charity show for the local primary school, damaged in recent floods.

Guerreros del Ring #167 has Mil Mascara vs Canek

Ohtani’s Jacket watches the Oficials/Air Force matches from IWRG, as well a recent CMLL minis match.

LuchaWorld has Robert on CMLL TV from 08/26/06 (Perro vs Santo in Santo’s last CMLL match) and AAA 08/06/06 and KrisZ’s news.

WrestlingObserver has their CMLL FSE Recap.

Masada is pretty random. I assume Tetsuda is a trainee from somewhere. No Friday show here. In possibly related news, SuperLuchas reports TVC Deportes has droped the IWRG telecasts, due to IWRG moving all of it’s big matches to the TV Azteca tapings.

Scattered Lineups, via Box Y Lucha and SuperLuchas

5) Alex Koslov & Rocky Romero vs Jack Evans & Teddy Hart

This supplants the Voladors vs Misteriosos card, which is no longer happening. Bonus: Jack & Teddy promo.

CMLL (MON) 12/01 Arena Puebla
1) Dark Angel, India Sioux, Lluvia vs Hiroka, Princesa Sujei, Yeska
2) La Sombra, Mascara Dorada, Volador Jr. vs Averno, Mephisto, Terrible
3) Místico, Shocker, Toscano vs Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

PERRO (TUE) 12/16 Monuemental Monterrey [Pegasso Original @ LMdlL]
1) Kaientai, Lord Byron, Nightmare vs Dralion, Furora, Voltaje
2) Esther Moreno & Rossy Moreno vs Diana La Cazadora & Poly Star
3) Black Spirit & Black Thunder vs Caifan 69 & Turbo
4) Juventud Guerrera & Super Crazy vs Damián 666 & Mr. Águila
5) Cibernetico & LA Park vs Dr. Wagner Jr. & el Hijo del Perro Aguayo

If nothing else, I’m happy Turbo and Black Thunder are getting booked more. Actually, if nothing else, I’m happy I worked in “ethos”. That’s a college education at work!

  1. its MAZADA in that match right? not Masada. they are 2 seperate wrestlers. MAZADA wrestles with NOSAWA, Masada is one of the more hardcore wrestlers on the planet and he wrestles for Big Japan, mostly in death matches. he’s an american. i’m assuming its MAZADA, especially since T28 is teaming with him and they come from the same promotion. Masada would be very random and wouldnt quite fit.

and on another note, Mistico’s match makes no sense unless they are planning on staying with the current booking of all of New Japan’s factions united against GBH. Devitt is a member of RISE and wouldnt team with Taguchi unless they run this angle for another month and a half, which they may, but it still doesnt really fit for the dome show.

  2. It is Kazuhiko Shoda, but he is usually called “Masada” instead of “Mazada” when he is wrestling in Mexico.

  3. What a waste of Mistico/Averno, i was praying for a singles match :(

Is that a new look for Dr X? if so AWESOME!!!

  4. It’s the Japanese guy. I don’t know why anyone would think otherwise. He works in Mexico on occasion because his wife is Mexican.
