CMLL on CadenaTres: 2015-10-10

one of those days

Recapped: 10/31/2015

What happened: Dragon Lee got the decision over Mephisto in the main event trios, setting up a title match next week. Roberto was wearing a Grupo Imagen (parent company of C3), which might have been foreshadowing and might have just been what was clean that day.

What was good: None of the matches, really.

Where can I watch it: It’s on my YouTube channel.

Review: [ok] A sleepy match that put me off the show for a few days between fall one and the rest. A usual Tuareg match, who seem to deviate from their usual patterns even less than others. OK grade is more “it doesn’t really matter” than even the slightest endorsement. Nitro & Super Halcon’s exchange prior to the third fall finish was clunky, with Nitro falling on his face just to get right back up again and hit his move. Magnus is kind of wasted in these matches.

Review: [below average] Crowd seemed to like this match but I thought it was not so good. It was not a lot of hilarious GIFs bad, but it was a lot of moves looking loose or obviously pulled, or people wandering getting to a spot way early or way late. There was one stretch in the third fall where it was just one iffy spot after another. I was frightened by the idea of Isis climbing the ropes, and thankful when it was kept to a simple splash. Everything she did was simple in this match and so not a lot went terrible wrong. Sugehit & Zeuxis’ exchange to the finish was the best part, but there were a lot of not good parts

Vaquerita seems to take the most direct hits on the double knees
legs nowhere near where they need to be for a headscissors
Estrellita avoids the kick, falls down anyway

  2. rudos

  3. rudos
    • Terrible & Rey Bucanero double submission Esfinge & Blue Panther (3:31)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:24

Review: [ok] half speed semimain. I don’t blame Rey Bucanero & Terrible for not being too excited for their millionth Tuesday match, but it’s still a bit boring to watch. The tecnicos aren’t good enough to make this work, and this is mostly the randomness of seeing Esfinge & Disturbio against people they might not normally fight. Not much comes of it.

Match 4: Dragon Lee, La Sombra, Titán vs Boby Zavala, Mephisto, Último Guerrero

  1. tecnicos
    • La Sombra double knee smash Ultimo Guerrero (5:38)
    • Titan modifed figure four Boby Zavala (5:40)
  2. tecnicos
    • DQ Mephisto [mask pull of Dragon Lee] (4:57)

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 10:37
Notes: Mephisto had gotten away with the mask pull, but decided to raise it high above his head before Tirantes counted three. Tirantes saw it some how and called the DQ. Dragon Lee challenge Mephisto to a title match. Mephisto, muffled by his mask, accepted but punched Dragon Lee in the face.

Review: [ok] probably could’ve been a good match but they didn’t take the time and they were a little distracted by Sombra playing around about if he was going to help the match. It didn’t really leave Dragon Lee with a lot of time to do much – he didn’t even pin Mephisto in what was a build up to their title match, just dived on him to end the first fall and got a gift DQ win in the second. Sombra & Ultimo Guerrero worked well together. Bobby Zavala in the main event didn’t amount to much.
