Zeuxis tries to put her boots thru Syuri

Recapped: 11/06/2015

What happened: The main event ended with Rush and Sombra fouling each other and agreeing on a singles match next week. Despite all of that, they insist they are still good friends. Thunder and Ultimo Guerrero continue to feud. The Panther & Super Comando do as well, though this week it was Puma who unmasked Fuego.

What was good:  The opener minis match was very good and the second match had a lot of fun guys. The main event continued the big story and had some really big spots in it.

Where can I watch it:  It aired live on ClaroSports (and wasn’t limited to Mexico this week.) It’ll be up on my YouTube channel eventually.

Match 1: Astral & Eléctrico vs Demus 3:16 & Pequeño Olimpico
Arena México, 11/06/2015

  1. rudos
    • Pequeño Olimpcio legdrop Electrico (5:34)
    • Demus valagueza Astral (6:03)
  2. tecnicos
    • Electrico springboard dropkick Pequeño Olimpico (3:57)
    • COR Demus (4:14)
  3. tecnicos
    • Astral cradle into a crucifix Pequeño Olimpico (3:37)
    • COR Demus (3:52)

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:09
Notes: Pequeño Olimpico replaced Mercurio. Demus wore a football helmet and a lacrosse jersey for whatever reason.

Review: [good] this was a great tecnico exhibition, with Electrico and mostly Astral looking great. Astral pulled out big moves I can’t recall him ever doing before and everything went right for him. The springboard headscissors off the apron was amazing, and there were a few other armdrags both guys did that were impressive. The rudos did not much – Demus did at least five bite spots – but worked well with the tecnicos. This was really good.

scortching burning hammer
the front roll is crazy
Demus continued the match, somehow
the angle on the headscissors is amazing
don’t stand and talk in the ring!

Match 2: Esfinge, Fuego, The Panther vs Puma, Súper Comando, Tiger
Arena México, 11/06/2015

  1. tecnicos
    • Esfinge nudo Egipico Tiger (3:18)
  2. rudos
    • Tiger backcracker/Puma double stomp Triton (6:22)
    • Super Comando Comando Clutch The Panther (7:05)
  3. tecnicos
    • DQ Puma [mask pull on Fuego] (6:39)

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 16:19
Notes: The Panther & Super Comando also feuded.

Review: [good] another strong match with a lot of effort from everyone. Puma & Tiger clicked as a tag team as always, but all the guys had their moments and no one dragged the match down. Super Comando & the Panther was the main focus, but they teased issued with everyone and it seems closer and closer to a cage match. I liked the sequence at the end of the second fall, with Panther almost turning it around for the tecnicos only to be stopped by Super Comando.

Puma delights in doing lately
don’t get stuck between the cats
Fuego folded in half
well timed
is it too late for T. Panther to switch to Black Warrior II?

Match 3: Marcela, Silueta, Syuri vs Dalys, Tiffany, Zeuxis

Arena México, 11/06/2015

  1. rudos
    • Dalys scorpion Marcela (7:14)
  2. tecnicos
    • Syuri German suplex Zeuxis (2:35)
  3. tecnicos
    • Marcela Michinoku Driver Dalys (3:52)
    • Silueta Anibalina Tiffany (3:53)

Winner: tecnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 13:42

Review: [ok] Syuri and Zeuxis were very good against each other and the highlight of this match, with Zeuxis welcoming Syuri back with some hard offense. Silueta looked better than usual too, but there were some noticeable errors and Tiffany is not very good. Dalys looked better other weeks too. They didn’t do the tag team build I thought, which doesn’t mean it won’t happen anyway.

double jump springboard
welcome back, Syuri
Zeuxis gets tossed

Match 4: Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero vs Boby Z, Dragón Rojo Jr., Thunder
Arena México, 11/06/2015

  1. Guerreros
    • DQ Thunder [referee attack] (4:06)
  2. Guerreros
    • Gran Guerrero Pulpo Guerrero Boby Z (4:55)
    • Euforica Special Dragon Rojo (4:55)

Winner: Guerreros (2-1)
Match Time: 9:01
Notes: Thunder attacked Edgar when he tried to stop his corner attack, including throwing Edgar down to Edgar’s head hit the bottom rope. He looked shook up but finished the match.

Review: [ok] helped by being short (two falls) and everyone working twice as fast to get everything they wanted in. Thunder was horrendous in this match, nearly injuring Edgar by throwing him recklessly into the bottom rope as part of the DQ, but the other four were trying their best to make up for it. This was the best Gran Guerrero & Euforia have looked as tecnicos and Dragon Rojo & Boby got in some offense at the end. Thunder is just so bad though.

Thunder tries to throw Edgar out, fails badly
taught Soberano Jr. everything he knows
Boby’s head doesn’t actually bounce on the ground, but not for lack of trying

Match 5: Diamante Azul, La Máscara, Super Parka vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
Arena México, 11/06/2015

  1. Peste Negra
    • Mr. Niebla tirabuzon Diamante Azul (3:52)
    • Negro Casas elbow drop (4:10)
  2. tecnicos
    • Super Parka crab Negro Casas (1:39)
    • Diamante Azul giant hiptoss (1:39)
  3. tecnicos
    • Super Parka oklahoma roll Felino (6:28)
    • Diamante Azul German Suplex Mr. Niebla (6:47)

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:36

La Mascara got along with his parnters, as if he hadn’t been beating up Super Parka in past weeks.

Review: [ok] A match with occurred. The least interesting match on the card; this was generally more professional than the Thunder one but it also had less of highlights. Diamante Azul is still about the same Diamante Azul, with maybe a new tattoo. Super Parka at least won this week and had a cool outfit. Not really sure they did six tags and no lightning match, except the main event was 2v2 instead of a 3v3 and CMLL has a weird pay structure.

noooo
match peaked

Match 6: La Sombra & Volador Jr. vs Mistico & Rush
Arena México, 11/06/2015

  1. Sombra & Volador
    • Sombra double knee smash Mistico (2:15)
    • Volador backcracker Rush (2:24)
  2. Rush & Mistico
    • La Mistica on La Sombra (3:44)
    • Rush corner doprkick Volador (3:55)
  3. Rush & Mistico
    • DQ Sombra [foul to Rush] (4:45)

Winner: Rush & Mistico
Match Time: 11:04
Notes: Volador & Sombra did not get along, while Rush & Mistico had no problem. Volador was knocked down on the floor late and Sombra threw Mistico into the crowd. Rush & Sombra were left with no choice to fight. Rush tried to walk away, but Sombra cradled him from behind for two and it was on from there. Rush nearly got the corner dropkick and the referee nearly got taken once before being dropped moments later. Rush fouled Sombra, but the referee took a while to recover. When he did, Sombra did the same to Rush and that was called for the DQ. Volador carried Mistico back to the ramp, only to throw a drink in his face and chase him off. Sombra and Rush talked, both declaring how they were the best two luchadors and they should fight to see who’s the best. They agreed next week, while also talking each other up and hugging at the end.

Review: [good] a good match in a totally different way, and one that requires some familiarity with the characters. This is not a smooth match, it’s full of guys getting in each other’s way on purpose because of the issues they have with each other. It’s slower than you might be expected too, but it’s a great story telling match with a big build to the end and an even stronger build to next week. Mistico worked much better in this match La Mascara, because he was able to give breaks of big moves in between the teases. The match needed a pure tecnico to mix in with three guys who definitely had shades of rudo in their fighting tonight.

all Volador’s fault!
Mistico works best with the THROW command
Volador doesn’t think much of that flip
everyone lived
a good drink wasted
Volador: sometimes still a jerk

  1. Would CMLL be crazy enough to do the fingerpoke-of-death spot as a finish in next week’s Rush/Sombra match or will this be a real fued to see who the fans would cheer?
