What happened: Mistico I returned. That was a thing!
Atlantis advanced to the final of the CMLL Universal tournament. Heddi Karaoui debuted with a win. Shockercito beat Demus before their hair match next week.
Everyone attacked Mistico all night, including his Sky Team partners destroying his mask multiple times. This was then never mentioned again.
Also, between his three tournament matches, Mephisto wrestled for 18:33 on this show.
What was good: Not Mephisto wrestling for 18:33. Tournament lucha was no good (and so I gave up writing notes on it), but the show prior to it had good action. I really liked the minis opener.
Where can I watch it: It’s on my YouTube channel, in both live and TV versions, and there’s fancams linked as well.

Notes: Shockercito and Demus talked up their hair match next week.
Review: [great] maybe the best CMLL opener of the year? At least on a regular show. These guys were on and it was a hot crowd who got way into it as Shockercito battled Demus. Everything went right and the two teams fit well against each other and together. Pequeño Nitro is really good as a tag partner. He’ll help you out with your moves, you can work with him for double teams. Stukita does splashes off the barricade for no real reason as is great. Shockercito’s offense may not be so original, but he and Demus can pull it off great. They could probably have a better match if they weren’t in the opener, but this was a really good one on it’s own.
Match 2: Fuego, The Panther, Tritón vs Okumura, Puma, Tiger

- Puma double stomp The Panther (4:28)
- Puma & Tiger Mouse Trap Fuego (6:02)
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:37
Review: [good] An enjoyable trios match with some unexpected sequences and good double teams. Puma & Tiger were all over this match with tag spots, but the other guys looked good too. This was a more complete match from the Panther, showing more varied ability than he has in usual trios matches. Triton stood out with his flying and Okumura and Fuego filled their roles fine. Slightly below the last match, but not by much.
Match 3: Guerrero Maya Jr., Heddi Karaoui, Stuka Jr. vs Gran Guerrero, Hechicero, Luciferno

- Heddi Karaoui Kimura Gran Guerrero (5:51)
Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 18:26
Notes: Heddi Karaoui’s debut on a CMLL show here. He had wrestled on other shows in the building.
Review: [good] Not exactly what I thought it would be, but it was alright. They did a lot of technical wrestling, though it surprised me they did so much with Luciferno and Maya to start with it. Fans were whistling Hechicero & Karaoui quickly, but that was more about them being the second guys to do long mat wrestling prior to what they did. What they did worked well (except maybe the punch dodge spot.) This match is built around technical wrestling and you include Gran Guerrero. I dunno, but he blew the first big spot he had. The next two falls were more normal CMLL match. Karaoui was definitely trying harder than in other matches I’ve seen him and this was the best match I’ve seen him in. I expected them to go back more to him versus Hechicero after the first fall, since that’s the direction they headed, but he worked with everyone. I liked the last two matches better but this would be the best early match on most cards.
Match 4: La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush vs Ángel de Oro, Super Parka, Super Porky

- Los Ingobernables
- Rush senton Super Porky (9:16)
- Rush corner dropkick Angel de Oro (9:38)
Winner: Los Ingobernables (2-1)
Match Time: 15:02
Notes: Sombra took Angel de Oro’s mask after the match. After the match, the not yet named renamed original Mistico walked out and talked about returning to Arena Mexico.
Review: [ok] this one went longer than you’d expect too and wasn’t really helped by the time. Third fall went near ten minutes and could’ve benefited by a few less minutes. It was a lot of Super Porky, which the crowd enjoyed but went on too long with everyone having to get in their stuff. Los Ingobernables were very rudo-ish and that was the idea against Porky, but the show was feeling longer than normal already. The crowd didn’t care as much about Angel de Oro (or as Super Porky), but he was good as a guy Rush and Sombra could knock around.
