I know NOTHING.
This is the lineup for the End Of Year Show, as posted a few hours ago on CMLL.com
1) Ultimo Dragoncito y Tsuki vs. Pierrothito y Espectrito
2) Safari, Volador Jr. y Felino (c) vs. Nitro, Dr. X y Holligan [mex trios]
3) Dos Caras Jr., Shocker y Atlantis vs. Ultimo Guerrero, Rey Bucanero y Olímpico
4) Hijo Del Santo, Negro Casas y Místico vs. Héctor Garza, Tarzan Boy y El Terrible
5) Universo 2000 vs. Hijo Del Perro Aguayo
6) Cien Caras y Máscara 2000 vs. Vampiro y Pierroth [hair/hair]
Weak double main for the year ender. I’ve got to assume the Capos/Pierroth stuff draws (or is perceived as a draw) and it just doesn’t translate well to me.
I’ve got two reports – a show recap on Box Y Lucha, and the usual O’Campo superplex.mx recap – saying Wagner vs Canek for the masks was accepted, so I guess they’re holding it over till 2005. I don’t think you need the time to build it up, since they’ve been teasing it since last spring, but I imagine that was the feeling here. Maybe they’ll do the UWA title match during the Coliseo season to keep the feud going?
Getting back to the Year End Show, I’m hoping they repeat the same here as the Anniversary, and the top two matches are non-TV, because the undercard is perfectly acceptable.
Semi-surprising the Mexican Trios Championship has been such a staple. Not that I mind – it may not be a marquee roll for the belts, but it’s a consistent role, and not many of the belts have a role.
There’s a really neat undercard match scheduled for next week’s Arena Mexico show – the return of one of 2003’s favorites. More on that later.
Local: after getting a clue, I’m heading to the lucha show in Aurora, IL tomorrow – anyone else there? If I have a chance, I’ll be taking pictures so bad they’ll never be show on this website and/or writing recap in my mind. Good times.
