ups and downs for Esfinge

recap

taped 2015-03-03 @ Arena Coliseo Guadalajara

Triton walk up legdrop

Esfinge, Fuego, Tritón vs Hechicero, Kamaitachi, Sangre Azteca: [ok] kind of boring toned down match with no one doing a lot until the tail end of the third fall. It was longer than usual but they didn’t much with the extra time. Those last 2 or 3 minutes were fun, but the rest was forgettable. Hechicero faked me into believing the referee had screwed up; I’m just so used to that here. Tirantes lost his mind about Sangre having his foot under the ropes on the second fall, but that didn’t seem as upsetting to me.

Angel de Oro tope

Ángel de Oro vs Felino in a super libre match: [below average] exactly the brief, minimalist and mostly useless singles match everyone knew they were getting as soon as they announced this match. Everyone was at their normal level, which is not as good level. Even the Zacarias parts weren’t as good as usual, and they’ve done those a hundred times. (Felino whiffs on the dropkick here.) They did try harder in the last minute, like the last match, but it also didn’t make up for the rest. There’s no reason this needed to be three falls. Crowd made noise towards each other, not the match.

Zacarias learning to evade?
tecnico victory

La Máscara, Marco Corleone, Rush vs Euforia, Negro Casas, Shocker: [ok] average match, didn’t last as long as usual. The (female majority) crowd actually took to the Ingobernables as técnicos, and so they ended up working the match as rudos. I give up. This is in fact another Ingobernables vs Shocker/Casas/third wheel, with just far more punches than you get out of Sombra. Crowd was way into Marco, so it didn’t feel as recycled.
