Friday previews, magazines, Caralucha

Tonight sees the Sky Team, in their first big match after taking a team name, facing Guerreros Laguneros for the CMLL Trios championship. This seems like a setup for Bucanero & Terrible to cost Volador the match to build up their own H2L one, but I’d also guess Mistico will end up winning these trios titles at some point.

Something like Maximo & Terrible and Rey Bucanero & Volador as teams for the incredible teams tournament seems likely. The first half of that bracket should be announced late tonight.

Bucanero & Terrible will be around because they team with Thunder to take on Atlantis, Marco and Maximo in the semimain. The other H2L match, Kamatiachi vs Dragon Lee, take part in the tercera trios match. The lightning match is La Mascara vs Negro Casas; that feud continuing into an Ingobernables vs Shocker/Casas/? match at the 03/15 show also fits with what CMLL has been doing.

CMLL Guadalajara has Angel de Oro, Dragon Rojo & Fuego versus Kraneo, Mr. Aguila & Olimpico, plus what appears to be the semifinal of the #1 tag team tournament with Malefico & Exterminador against El Gallo & Esfinge. The rudos are using the name Compadres del Infierno and have promo here.

No AAA TV taping this weekend (or next.)

Box y Lucha’s forum disappeared a few weeks ago; that used to be the most active lucha libre discussion place on the internet, but it’s slowed down much in recent years and has gone thru disappearances before. At the same time, there’s also been no issues of the magazine released lately, which has logically caused people to assume it’s finished. Box y Lucha posted a message on Facebook saying they haven’t ceased publishing, and they’ll eventually release info on their next issue there. They don’t actually explain what’s going on, but I believe the strategy is they’re only going to release issues around big events and there just hasn’t been big events of late. (They don’t seem to address the website situation, but my guess it isn’t not coming back.)

Quietly, it seems like SuperLuchas is in the same “not canceled but not putting out issues” situation. They stopped publishing before the end of the year for their usual holiday break, but it’s February and there’s still no issues. I’m not sure if they’ve announced something and missed it, but it does seem like some results content which might have been in the magazine is now being posted on their website. I did see elsewhere a reference to a Luchas 2000 issue, so I think they’re the one still being released, but I’m not 100% sure.

Myzteziz wants to face Hijo del Perro Aguayo at TripleMania in a hair match.

Brian Cage wants to slap Alberto. That’s a more achievable goal.

Amo La Lucha Libre has video of last July’s AULL vs IWRG Copa Higher Power, which never aired on TV.

RobViper has a music video of 10/12/14 AAA Heroes Inmortales.

LuchaWorld has a recap of this week’s CMLL Informa featuring Rush being awesome and KrisZ’s news update.

Segunda Caida reviews Black Terry vs Aeroboy and Hector Garza joining the Invasors.

SuperLuchas reposts an interview Reyna Gallegos and Fabuloso Blondy vs El Brazo from a past February 12.

Voices of Wrestling has a review of this week’s Lucha Underground.

IWRG wrestlers are in Poza Rica this Sunday; a rare Alan Xtreme appearance.

Lineups

AAA (THU) 02/26/2015 Arena Naucalpan
1) Ludxor & Venum vs Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Kronoz
2) Argenis, Niño Hamburguesa, Octagoncito vs Carta Brava Jr., Daga, Mini Psycho Clown
3) Australian Suicide & Faby Apache vs Dark Scoria & Taya Valkyrie
4) Drago, Fénix, Jack Evans vs Hijo del Fantasma, Parka Negra, Pentagón Jr.
5) Blue Demon Jr. & El Patrón Alberto vs Chessman & Texano Jr.

Probably not making AYM TV but one never knows. Alberto’s in for the Friday TV in Queretaro, so they’ve got him headlining this show on Thursday and Saturday in Arena Neza.

CARALUCHAS (SAT) 03/07/2015 Arena San Juan Pantitlan, Ciudad de México, Distrito Federal
1) Lasser & Tanque Infernal vs Amadeus & Magnetico
2) Rayo Star, Sky Man, Tribal vs Fly Star, Fly Warrior, Toxin Boy
3) Leo (IWRG), Mike, Rafy, Teelo vs Rey Lobo Jr., Shadow, Shadow, Yoruba
4) Andy Boy, Danger, Guerrero Mixtico vs Arez, Belial, Impulso
5) La Sombra, Rush, Último Guerrero vs Eterno, Trauma I, Trauma II

Either the Ingobernables and the Traumas are going to be the best of friends due to their shared interests (themselves) or they’re going to attempt to murder each other. I don’t think they’re going to be friends. Eterno – who appears to be good and gone from AAA – needs to balance impressing bossman UG and not being destroyed as innocent bystander.

The rest of the show is very much indy strong style, with the Kriminal Boys vs the Sky Stars in the 2nd (and a new Tribal?) and the Neza Boys taking on the Indystrongibles in the semimain. Even if Eterno’s not in AAA anymore, it sure seems like a couple of those guys are. Ninja Turtles will steal the show as usual, and it’s notable all four are listed since Rafy has been MIA of late.
