Fantasy, Shockercito, Último Dragoncito vs Demus 3:16, Mercurio, Pierrothito: [GOOD] Fun minis match. They didn’t get a lot of time but packed a lot of energy and activity into what they had. This was Shockercito (and Demus’) best ever triple headscissors spot. It didn’t go quite as well for him on the powerbomb and Demus Driver at the end. Mercurio continues to look better all the time and was really good here. The veterans were solid as usual.
Lluvia, Marcela, Silueta vs Amapola, Dalys, La Seductora: [GOOD] Better than expected too, though the story seemed to be that the técnicas were doomed without Marcela. Probably true! It seemed like it’d be the other side that would just be a one person team, but Dalys and Seductora were adequete. There are plenty of people here prone to having slip ups but no one really did and the match went off smoothly with a couple nice spots.
Dragon Lee vs Virus: [GOOD] Another good Virus singles match, of course. This one felt like he was just slowly but continually escalating the difficulty level against Dragon Lee. The young guy would try something, it’d work, and Virus would make sure it wouldn’t work again. Eventually, Virus looked at the clock and figured he might as well win (and might as well cheat while he’s at it), but he knew he was going to win all along. Dragon Lee did well keeping up and the time flew by. I wouldn’t have had any problem with a time limit draw because it felt like they were just getting started, and hopefully they’ll get around to the title match they keep teasing here.
Ángel de Oro, Diamante Azul, Tritón vs Boby Zavala, Misterioso Jr., Tiger: [OK] Hooray for Tiger beating Diamante Azul in a fall for once. I believe that makes him 1-439 in direct decisions. And Diamante Azul decided he was done selling and that was the end of the second fall. (Credit to Tiger for absolutely refusing to take the German suplex in the third.) Triton has gone from depressing because things just keep going wrong for him to depressing because he’s gotten very good but is going nowhere. Nothing but optimism here! Diamante Azul and Angel de Oro had the exact same match as they always do; just team with La Mascara and they could air the same match perpetually without anyone noticing. Misterioso is working harder at finding new ways to lose than at anything else he has ever done in his career. It.’s amazing.
Marco Corleone, Máscara Dorada, Titán vs Ephesto, Hechicero, Shocker: [GOOD] Hechicero had a neat sequence with Mascara Dorada to start, but then generally blended in here. That’s his role, but I keep wanting to see him overpowering a match more like En Busca de Un Idolo. It’s really a shame there was no opening in the Hijos del Averno with how well Ephesto and Hechicero work together. Maybe in the next lifetime. No one involved, especially the camera people, seemed especially confident about who was the técnico captain. The random comedy helped make this match a bit more memorable.
