09/06 news

Arena Mexico Results:
– Mr. Power/Los Rayos Tapatios b Jeque/Super Coamdno/Vaquero
– Mascarita Sagrada/Tsuki/Shockercito b Mini Pierroth/Fire/Espectrito
– Mephisto/Olimpico/Super Crazy b Alan/Volador/Zumbido
– Apolo/Tiger/Universo b Okumura/Pierroth/Vampiro
– Negro Casas, Atlantis, Santo, Mistico defeated Ultimo Guerrero, Tarzan Boy, Rey Bucanero and Averno

Vampiro walked on his team in his match, but the other team won more because Pierroth’s backup run in on the match.

This week’s card centers around the third Leyenda de Azul Cibernetico. I didn’t realize there was one prior to Tarzan’s victory last year, and I figured it was only happening as a subsitute for the Leyend de Plata. Guess not. It’s a more “name” lineup rather than the “work” lineup of Plata, but it’s not horrible. The hype does mention the aim for a more star lineup, and pushing existing rivalaries.

– Rayo de Jalisco
– Brazo de Plata
– Canek
– Mr. Niebla
– Dr. Wagner
– Pierroth
– Hector Garza
– Universo 2000
– Black Warrior
– Mascara Sagrada
– Satanico
– Apolo Dantes
– Vampiro
– Cien Caras
– Terrible
– Black Tiger

This is a normal, winner takes all, cibernetico. Tarzan’s busy elsewhere, so he won’t be defending his title. Blue Panther, the previous champion – and if any one could tell me when, that’d be great – isn’t booked for the show. Doesn’t sound like Blue Demon Jr. will be making an appearance.

The full card

– StarMAN/Sombra de Plta vs Ramstein/Super Coamdno
– Tony Rivera/Texano Jr/Chris Stoen vs Violencia/Dr. X/Arkangel
– Leyenda de Azul
– Shocker/Negro/Mistico vs GdI

Mistico must’ve impressed to get say on top.

In other news
– Shocker beat Bestia Salvaje in a hair match on 9/25 – CMLL.com earns points by noting Shocker’s now beat each memebr of the Taliban for their hair.
– CMLL.com loses those points by trying the “people seem to like Universo 2000 even more after he’s lost his mask!” routine.

In usual fashion, I’m telling you now that there was a NWA Middletitle defense in Puebla Monday night, with Volador getting a shot at Averno’s newly won title. No word on winner yet, but I’d assume it’s too soon for a chance.

Tommorow: I try and compress 2:45 worth of unrecapped TV into one day? Can I do it? Will I get easily distracted by baseball? (Yes.) At least I haven’t been recapping the same show since May (hahaha)
