Rare sponsored show in Guadalajara. Sponsor appeared to be a local hardware store.

CMLL (SUN) 10/13/2013 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Molotov & Sensei b Espanto Jr. & Ramstein
Sensei had a white gi. Tecnicos took 1/3.
2) Metálico, Stigma, Súper Halcón Jr. vs Camorra, Canelo Casas, Disturbio
Camorra and Stigma continue to feud. Camorra beat Stigma in the first and third (cleanly), only losing the second by excessive violence DQ.
3) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Hijo del Fantasma b Misterioso Jr., Namajague, Shigeo Okumura
Tecnicos took falls 2/3 in a good match. Delta & Maya beat Okumura & Namajague in the third, then challenged for the Arena Coliseo Tag Team Titles. Fiebre Amarilla did not really answer.
4) Vangellys b Tritón [lightning]
Originally scheduled to be Sangre Azteca, but Vangelis replaced him (and the match was elevated a spot) on Monday. Vangellys caught Triton trying a handspring and German suplexed him for a win. Vangellys had his shoulders on the mat for the three count, but the referee did not call it (or notice.)
5) Mistico, Thunder, Valiente DQ Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero
UG pulled Valiente’s mask for the DQ after ripping it up during the match. The two talked about a singles match next week.
6) Ephesto, Mephisto, Volador Jr. b Atlantis, La Máscara, Máximo
Originally announced as Dragon Rojo, but changed to Ephesto on Monday. Maximo subbed for Titan the day of the show (mentioned at the start.) Rudos took 1/3.

CMLL (SUN) 10/13/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) William Rock b Furia Nazi
Bonus match. Furia Nazi (or at least A Furia Nazi) hasn’t appeared here since 2006.
2) El Piraña & El Yaki b Brillante & Metalik
Yaki replaced Samael. Tecnicos took 1/3.
3) El Divino & Halcón de Plata b Ángel del Mal & Demonio Rojo
Angel del Mal’s first match since January 2012. Tecnicos took 2/3.
4) Black Metal, Leo, Smaker b Demonio Maya, Espectrum, Magnum
Tecnicos took 2/3.
5) Fuego, Gallo, Rey Cometa DQ Bárbaro Cavernario, Exterminador, Maléfico
Tecniso took 2/3. Barbaro and Fuego feuded, and Barbaro was caught fouling Fuego in the third.
6) Rey Bucanero & Tama Tonga b Rush & Titán
Titan replaced Maximo (who swapped places with him in Coliseo.) Tag champs took 1/3, Tonga sneaking a foul on Rush thanks to a Bucanero distraction.

Tama and Rush continue to have controversial finishes. They may be good against each other, but Rush occupied with Tama Tonga means Rush isn’t going to be resolving things with Negro Casas or Shocker any time soon. Luchadors who return in Arena Coliseo a long absence usually find themselves quickly into mask feuds, but there’s no set up of that sort with Angel del Mal. Furia Nazi must be either a trainer working one of his students or a new guy under an old name.

No full results from Naucalpan tonight, but they did set up a Guerrero Maya vs Canis Lupus match for the IWRG IC Welterweight Championship on the next Furor show. That’ll be on 11/17.

Tercera Caida aired matches from the third ChilangaMask show, including Black Terry vs Guerrero Maya and and Valiente & Virus vs Los Traumas.

AAA announced a couple post Heroes Inmortales TV tapings this weekend. They’ll be in Tonala, Jalisco on 11/03 and back in Queretaro on 11/15. That gap says Tonala will be a double taping. Queretaro should start airing the weekend of 11/23 as everything is currently laid out. On the other side, the WON reported Guerra de Titanes is tentatively planned for 12/07. That would mean only one or two tapings after Queretaro before the next major show.

weeks of build up (or weeks since last major show)
Rey de Reyes 2013: 9 weeks
TripleMania 2013: 12 weeks
Heroes Inmortales 2013: 15 weeks (though pre-empted 1 week)
Guerra de Titanes: 5 weeks

Guerra de Titanes could end up a week or two later, but it’s still going to be the shortest build by far.

Battle Campal was giving away tickets to the WWE Queretaro show. 25 sets of 2, which seems like a lot. They’re not the only ones giving tickets away. Ticketmaster is selling the Guadalajara show, and it looks like 4 tickets in the second row are still available. They’ve got a buy 3 get 1 free deal there. It seems better in Mexico City, where there are no blocks of 4 on the floor, but up in the first section of the bleachers. This is a weak show WWE is sending to Mexico, as discussed on the podcast, and it feels like the fans have reacted more to the lineup than the long time before a return. The usual caveats apply – most tickets will be sold day of the show and there’s still plenty of time – but it seems very possible WWE might get some weak turnouts for these shows, which might affect plans going forward.

There’s still no clarification about Rey Misterio’s status – these are going to be his first matches anywhere back, if he really going to be back. I wonder what the fans would chant if Rey didn’t wrestle.

CMLL lists two changes for Tuesday’s card. Acero makes his first Mexico City appearance since May to replace Bam Bam, while Metalico replaces Sensei in the opener. Sensei was obviously fine enough to wrestle on Sunday, so it may just be scheduling issues.

SuperLuchas #511 has Heroes Inmortales, WWE (ticket giveway) and Dr. Wagner on the cover.

DJ Spectro looks back at the 1978 year end show, which (like the 80th anniversary show) had one title match, one hair match and one mask match. In related news, they were worried about El Toreo competition.

LuchaWorld has 20 to 11 in their top 2012 Countdown and KrisZ’s news update from Saturday.

Lucha Libre in Japan

According to the Super Libre Facebook, Valiente says he’s going to Japan from 10/13 to 11/07. That matches up with the next NJPW tour (though not the iPPV at the end, oddly.) Valiente is not the name I hinted would be going next – I think my info was correct at the time, but plans have been delayed or changed. I will explain this better at some later point, though it may take until FantasticMania (who’s dates ought to be announced soon.) It’s also possible there are just multiple CMLL people going on the same tour; it probably should be made clear after NJPW’s show in a few hours.

Funcion Estelar has an interview with Rocky Lobo, who confirms he and Flamita are going to Dragon Gate. They’ll head to Japan on 10/19 and return on 12/23. Jae figures their first show will be either part of PRIME ZONE 11 (10/25) or the 10/26 show. It appears Lobo & Flamita are going in as friends of Eita & crew, but I would presume a Flamita versus Tomahawk match for the DTU Alto Impacto championship takes place at some point some how.

Zeuxis and Vaquerita defend the REINA tag team titles on 11/02.

You know, you could probably book a decent show of all Mexico based luchadors in Japan in the next month. Super Crazy & Pesadilla versus Rocky Lobo & Flamita, Zeuxis & Vaquerita vs Chik Tormenta & Dark Angel, Valiente versus Hijo del Pantera…okay, maybe half a show. Ran out of steam there, but it’s still a dozen.

NJPW’s hung up the posters with Tanahashi from his trip to Mexico, which means they did a better job of keeping track of their souvenirs than me.

7) Crazy Boy & Joe Lider vs Hooligan Byron & Kaientai and Cíclope & Sick Boy

DTU + Monterrey = possibly craziest show. Main event is electric – like, something will be electrified. This is announced lineup/event #8 for DTU in October. OcDTUober?

CMLL (SUN) 10/20/2013 Arena Coliseo
1) Astral & Stukita vs Pequeño Nitro & Pequeño Universo 2000
2) Metatrón, Soberano Jr., Stigma vs Camorra, Espanto Jr., Guerrero Negro Jr.
3) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa vs Boby Zavala, Hooligan, Namajague
4) Atlantis, Marco Corleone, Thunder vs Misterioso Jr., Mr. Niebla, Pierroth
5) Valiente vs Último Guerrero
6) La Máscara, La Sombra, Shocker vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

Shocker keeps getting listed, hope he can make one of these. I wonder if the Arena Coliseo crowd will react differently to Sombra than the Arena Mexico one. Valiente & UG is standard three falls match. Good for CMLL to make it easy for me to figure out exactly when I should step away to make dinner. Odd no Okumura in the tercera for storyline purposes, awesome for the guys who are there instead. Camorra versus Stigma keeps going. Pequeno Universo keeps getting booked.

IWL (SAT) 12/14/2013 Gimnasio Juan De La Barrera
1) Concord, Medic 1, Medic 3, Mr. Zebra vs Babel, Brazo Jr., Gotita de Plata, Kid Jaguar, Pinocho 3000
listed as 4 on 5, probably missing a name.
2) Holocausto, Infierno, Ojo Diabólico Jr., Sepulturero I vs Arkanos, Kilvan, Shadow, Yoruba and Atm 1, Atm 2, Atm 3, Atm 4
ATM team is listed as Nueva ATM, unclear which ATM members are on teh team
3) Zumbido vs Último VampiroFresero Jr.Último GladiadorFlamitaTony RiveraEmo ExtremeDinamik BlackCentinelaExtreme TigerDecnnisQuimico Jr.Corcel Infernal [20000 pesos, TLC]
a brieface with 20000 pesos will hang above the ring. Lineup says Maldito Jr. may replace Xtreme Tiger
4) el Ángel, León, Ovett, Perico vs Aero Boy, Demente Extreme, Hormiga, Violento Jack [IWL ATOMICOS]
Los Porros hold the Trios titles, which are apparently now the Atomicos titles (or maybe they have those seperately?)
5) Súper Muñeco, Súper Pinocho, Súper Ratón vs Carta Brava Jr. (IWL), Cerebro Negro, Fantasma de la Ópera [hair, mask, WWA Trios]
whoever is champion at this point – currently Secta Negra – will put the titles on the line in addition to all the masks/hair
6) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Canek & Canek Jr. and Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Pirata Morgan and Hijo de LA Park & LA Park [IWL DINASTIA]
new championship

Lineup here. IWL seemed like the Tlalnepantla Convention Center building was way too big for them. They must believe differently, because they’re running the building TxT has had trouble half filling. However, IWL managed to get the Super Muneco/Trio Fantasia mask match TxT was clearly building towards but couldn’t get done. It’s not listed as the main event but will probably turned out to be the biggest draw. (Possible both Carta Bravas could be unmasked in the same month, which might solve that problem.)

40% chance IWL forgot they gave out trios titles and honestly believe Los Porros are Atomicos champions. 60% chance they had IWL Atomicos belts made at some point and just gave them to Angel o Demonio.

  1. Ok… coliseo was 6 matches, saw TERRA’s feed segunda and asumed it was the opening match and the show had lasted exactly 2 hours O.o

  2. @chui: CHUI!

They did have a six match Coliseo show that ran under two hours not too long ago. They might do it more often if not for all the interviews they do on Sundays.
