CMLL FSE #77

Opener wasn’t actively bad, but it wasn’t more than below average. The tecnicos making Super Nova’s cameo as a rudo very tough was amusing, but I don’t Super Nova’s as ready as I thought he was the first time I saw him. I’m not just judging him on this match, which would be totally unfair, but he’s not been in the right place at the right time a few times recently.

re Henrik: Neutron was barely in this match.

Main event was what I should’ve expected it to be, but not what I hoped it’d be. The moonsault side slam tricked me into thinking they might have worked at a faster pace, but this was usual Perro move stare move. I often feel like I’m holding Perro (and Los Perros) to unfair requirements, because what they’re doing (and not doing) gets them over with the live crowd. Getting over to me is not the point, and this match didn’t either.

This is also one of those matches where I can not comprehend why anyone would suggest Perro go to WWE. He’s a charismatic dude, but he’s seemed to always work in front of crowd who know him and know his family and he’s able to work off of that. It’s a smart way to do it, but it wouldn’t be that way in the WWE. He’s d have to get over as a (mostly) unknown, and work very hard for the fans (and the company) to care about him. That’s a much rougher deal.

  1. Perro would not be a star in WWE. I agree with you. You should see Perro on Cinco Magnificos with the kids in his group. He’s barely two or three inches taller than some 12 year-olds. And he can’t fly high, so that hurts his marketability. Americans like stereotypes, and the Lucha stereotype is that they all fly.

  2. I too was hoping that this match would be good when I saw it on TV last week. Unfortunately, Perrito is very lazy in singles matches as well nowadays. And seeing this match without all the friggin segments in between didn’t make it any better. Here’s hoping Mistico might get him motivated should they ever have a singles match in Arena Mexico this year, but likely not.

I think Hector Garza would have a better chance at making it in the WWE instead of Perrito since he at least he was in WCW and TNA. I remember those WCW saturday night matches with
Hector in them were pretty good, so were the tags he appeared in the main shows.

  3. I wonder how many Barack Hussein Obama supporters post here? Daniel has to be an Obamamaniac.

  4. Since we getting off topic for a bit, Konnan and Nash squash their beef according to Konnan. So, I guess Nash might show up at an AAA event(I doubt it).

  5. Good. Then you can watch AAA on Galavision. but just don’t vote for this Obama guy. He’s bad news. I’m sure cubs, as an Illinois resident can attest to that.

  6. I see what you’re doing here, you’re making me wish the Latin Lover debate was back. That’s cruel.

Obama is to most people in Illinois as Dr. Wagner is to most people in Arena Mexico.

  7. The Latin Lover debate will pop up with Daniel every now and then.

I didn’t know Obama was that popular in Illinois. I’m just nervous about the prospect of him winning the presidency.

  8. Hey being a black man, a peaceful one at that, I sure hope we are not racist up in here.

Are we afraid of Barack running the country or him getting killed in office?

He is not a muslim, he is against terrorism, and anyway what did this have to do with Lucha Libre, if he’s not gonna wrestle? LOL!
