11/27: Todos X Todos, Tijuana, Monterrey, lineups

A lineup, posted from Luchas 2000 across message boards, has these teams for Todos X Todos‘ mask tournament:

– Hijo del Santo, Blue Demon Jr.
– Mascara Sagrada, Fishman Jr. (who’s still not supposed to be able to use that gimmick)
– Super Muneco, Pentagon Black
– Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Hijo de Cien Caras
– Dos Caras, Tinieblas
– Mil Mascaras, El Fantasma
– Lizmark, Solar
– Hijo del Solitario, Hijo de Anibal

The losing team faces each other in a mask match. The best bet is Muneco taking Pentagon Black’s mask, but you could also see someone lose from the Lizmark/Solar pair, I think. The current belief on the Blue Demon situation is they’re more likely to change the man under the mask and not acknoweldge it than to have him lose it, if they do anything at all, so I wouldn’t expect that to factor into the outcome.

Today’s Arturo Rivera column shoots down last week’s La Parka Jr. rumor as completely fabricated by the accusor.

Box Y Lucha posted a video chat with Rayo de Jalisco Jr.

Acapulco wrestler El Apostol, Agustin Castro Santos, passed away Monday. He had been having healthy problems for several months.

Ovaciones hypes up Sombra’s shot at Ohara’s NWA World Welterweight Championship tonight. Ohara is hyped as a holding the belt for two years, which means they don’t know Super Delfin won it for a couple weeks earlier this year.

This Saturday is Gomez Palacio’s Luchadore 5K. Local luchadors participate in their own categories, and La Sombra won the category for luchadors between 80-100 kg. That reminds me, Sombra’s gotta be over the 79 kg weight limit for the welterweight title! He’s gonna be weight cutting today, for sure.

Magazines
Super Luchas #240 has a recap of Survivor Series.
Box Y Lucha #2846 highlights CMLL’s End Of Year show a week early. Maybe they figure on having a GdT results cover next week.
Guerreros del Ring #115 has Rayo de Jalisco Jr. on the cover. Link also includes covers of some Guerreros del Ring 2008 calenders – note Sangre Azteca is part of the Guerreros del Atlantida cover (is that as close as we’ll get for confirmation that he was permanently called up from the B-squad) and Eclipse is nowhere to be seen.

  1. 5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Negro Casas, Silver King vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Hijo del Cien Caras, Villano III

    Hmmmm…

  2. Good for him, he deserves it. He now is the youngest person to ever hold a National *and* NWA Title. You think he’s gonna be a future star?:)

  3. It seems the story of SKY aring the Tuesday’s shows is true since the reports arrived much earlier than Friday’s show.

  4. The angle is “we ran out of people who made sense to seem for this show, so we’ll just let them turn on each other”
