07/12: Lucha on TV, Aficion, lineup changes, Intocable

Any SOLID word on a new TV show I’m not aware of?

Well, apparently, yes.

AULL on US TV.

If you have access to one of these stations, you get AULL’s Lucha Libre show on Saturday
KTNC-TV in San Francisco / Sacramento, California – 4 PM
KAZH in Houston, Texas – 3 PM
KAZR-CA in Reno, Nevada – 4 PM
KAZO-LP in Omaha, Nebraska – SUNDAY 3 AM

Show is listed as two hours long.

These are all small, low power, former Azteca America stations, so you may need to hunt around to find the right channel number on your system. It looks like they started showing AULL last Saturday, when they dropped the Azteca affiliation.

(No, I can not believe Omaha is getting lucha libre and you’re not.)

Those are former Azteca America channels. If you check out the sports section of the Azteca America site (and have WMP installed), you can see video of last Tuesday’s Coliseos how. What does this mean? I have no idea, but they caption it as being on DeporTV America, which is available on Azteca America stations. May just be a 3 minute clip piece talking about lucha libre, but I’m going to check the show on this week just to see. It’s on Sunday afternoon.

Same VIP promotion as the DF one. These people believe in Super Muneco as a draw, I guess.

There’s a ByL forum post saying Intocable has resigned with AAA.

Over on PWInsider (hope you’ve got ad block working), Adam Gerstein writes about his experience going to Mexico City for the two weekend CMLL shows and WWE’s Saturday show. It’s pretty good.

This Hoy Internet article talking about the lucha show in LA this weekend is great. This is Cien Caras’ last match ever! He’s getting close to triple digits Last Match Evers.

  1. The Pappas Houston station in not low-powered, which means it’s “must carry” on Comcast, Dish, and Direct in that market. Houston fans won’t struggle to find the show.

KTNC is also full-power, so must-carry applies, meaning Comcast, Dish, and DirecTV must carry the station. I’m not sure if KTNC is must-carry in San Francisco or Sacramento, because it tecnically covers both DMA’s.

As for the other stations, if the wind blows the wrong way, you lose the signal.

  2. Hey Chui, I know this is off-topic, but how is the publicity down in Torreon for the big boxing PPV this weekend?

  3. Are these AULL shows repeats or new shows? The trailer was certainly repeats, but i don’t know how much to read into that – after all, they can hardly advertise shows by airing footage from the future!

If it’s new stuff and starts this week we have Flash and SuperNova teaming up with JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY NEUTRON!~

  4. Re: luchalibreenvivo!

They don’t really need to do too much publicity since Mijares became an overnight hero over here, it is more like the sponsors jumping aboard and running ads, but the place should be easily sold out, I heard they only have a few tickets left for the lowest prices.

Besides the show, it’s the first time the Auditorio de Gomez Palacio is going to be open to the public so I’m considering attending, but I think they’ll run a lucha show soon, so I’m not in a hurry.

It won’t be aired over here, not on SKY, cable, closed circuit… I wonder if the pirate dish might have it… will air on Televisa the following day, but I think they might block it down here, although if it does a sell out, I wouldn’t see the case to that, it is not as if they’re planning on turning Gomez Palacio in a Las Vegas and running world championship bouts every other week…

  5. Here in the US, the Mijares PPV airs on Dish Network as an exclusive(no cable or DirecTV customers can order it), and probably Fox Sports en Espanol in a week or two.
