AAA #626

aired in US 05/26, taped 04/27

This felt like a big step towards a US setup, what with the backstage set for promos and tons of them, and people running into other people backstage. I didn’t mention this in the recap, but there was a lot of teasing what’s to come – but they don’t do the big graphics for matchup.

I had no use for the incredibles match, assuming it even was one, or the ladders match. The cage match was booked out well, but it wasn’t much action at times, it seemed. Maybe I’m overly harsh there. The opening gauntlet match was the best thing, but I was so annoyed with Antifaz by the end of that fall.

  1. Loved your recap of this episode.

The ladders match was comedy to me, even though it’s supposed to be taken seriously. I’ve been talking about it all week with local Mexicans.

I also liked the backstage set, and the movie film footage in the opener. AAA is making progress, and the backstage set is something Konnan deserves credit for. If Konnan just slows down on the run-ins, things will be just fine.
