CMLL Minis cage match, lineups

Today’s CMLL show in Arena Mexico is headlined by Diamante Azul & Tama Tonga in a trios match, a few days before their singles match.

The big show is out in Guadalajara, where 12 minis are in a cage apuesta match. It was only set up last week, a total surprise after a Pequeno Reyes del Aire match, and there’s no real obvious feud. The match includes masked and unmasked minis, which usually means an unmasked guy is going to lose.

Easily Safe

  • Último Dragoncito
  • Pequeño Halcón
  • Astral
  • Fantasy
  • Pierrothito
  • Pequeño Olímpico

Probably Safe

  • Demus 3:16 – it’s been long enough since he last long they could get a singles match of it.
  • Aereo – losing his mask and his hair as a tecnico would mean CMLL was done with him already, which seems unlikely for a young guy
  • Mercurio – slightly more possible for a rudo, but still a long shot.

Most Likely

  • Shockercito – has never lost his hair, but was involved in the finish last week and at the right point of his career for his first hair match last.
  • Pequeño Violencia – has lost his hair 3 times, around enough that it would be a win for someone but not a big loss for him.
  • Pequeno Warrior – has lost 2 masks and 2 hair (as Mini Psicosis), including losses the last two year. Won last week, which often means a big loss the next week.

Pequeno Warrior looks like the the obvious pick. There are options to avoid it, but today seems like a day to bet on favorites. The show starts at 8:30, so I’d guess the cage match gets in the ring about 10:15 CT local. You should be able to listen to a radio broadcast on http://canal58.listen2myradio.com/ and I’ll try for results on Twitter.

Lineups

A few changes with CMLL announced lineups. Silueta replaces Dalis on Tuesday. On Sunday, Princesa Sugheit replaces Amapola, and Delta replaces Starman again. Let’s all speculate on what Starman is doing instead of wrestling, since Los Colisenos insisted he’s not hurt. Discussing bus boycotts with Tony Rivera? Traveling to Mars? Hanging out with Mini Starman???

  1. I think this will be CMLL’s yearly donation to Pequeno Warrior’s family situation.

(I’m not trying to be sarcastic, I think it’s nice CMLL gives him a little extra payoff every year and would rather something random like this than a 4-5 week feud where we all know what the end result will be.)
