Magazine Notes

El Halcon #77 is up
– Interview with Shocker. Shocker says some fanc want him to be tecnico, some want him to be rudo, so right now he’s being a tecnico while teaming with Bucanero but will likely did a little of both. He explains that after he joined the Perros, he figured out he wasn’t happy not being the leader of a group he was in, and now that he’s split, he’s hoping to have some hair matches with them. He’s friends with the guys who are now the Guapos in AAA, and thinks they’re fine wrestlers, but figures the Guapos faction can only really exist in the promotion he’s in. Having been to Japan and US indies, he’d like to be in WWE next, but that’s very uncertain. Shocker didn’t like his stint in TNA – outside of the X Division match with Daniels, he felt like he worked hard and didn’t get much out of it. He thought the last iteration of Team Mexico – his teammates weren’t ready for that stage.
– Report from the Bulldog Quintero show in Queretaro.
– Q&A with Stuka Jr. The first Stuka is his brother – there are 10 boys (and 1 girl) in the family. Stuka’s favorite drink? “Beer.”
– the interview with Joaquin Roadin
– Bio of Tartu el Brujo.

Box Y Lucha’s put up a bunch of articles from it’s Huracan Ramirez issue
– There’s a lot about Ramirez Daniel Garcia’s career before he became Huracan, the movie star, a story from someone who was at the funeral, and Rambo’s column is about meeting Huracan.
– To mix it up a bit, there’s career histories of deceased wrestlers Pancho Valentino and Kokina Maximus (Yokozuna).
Rambo has another column, talking about ghosts and undead. Once, a promoter had a great idea to bury La Momia next to the ring, and then unearth him when it came time for his match. They set up a breathing tube – which promptly got trampled by the fans. Someone realized what was up and they dug him out, with the fans never realizing something was up.

Does anyone under the age of 35 purchase Box Y Lucha when Mistico’s not on the cover? Old school fans must love it.
