10/28: Mexico, GdR

CMLL (FRI) 10/27 Arena Mexico Results [El Alburero]
1) Mini Damian 666, Mini Halloween b Mini Fantasy, Shockercito
2) Hombre sin Nombre, Okumura, Sangre Azteca b Fabian el Gitano, Leono, Texano Jr.
3) Blue Panther, Dr. Wagner Jr., La Mascara b Damian 666, Halloween, Misterioso II
Misterioso replaced an injured Mr. Aguila.
4) Felino, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas b Averno, Hirooki Goto, Mephisto
5) Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Universo 2000 DQ Hijo de Lizmark, Kenzo Suzuki, Marco Corelone [ri]
Rey’s team won fall 1 with Shocker and him pinning Corelone. Corelone gave Universo a martinete in the second fall to end the match.

I think Marco vs Universo > Kenzo vs Universo, but only if Marco actually beats Universo on the road to losing to Dos. Not sure that’s where they’re going here (or if they’re going at all.) They at least fufilled the idea of the match by having an intriguing ending.

Guerreros del Ring is airing:
10/20 Mexico: Hombre Sin Nombre, Loco Max, Sangre Azteca b Mascara Purpura, Maximo, Virus
10/22 Coliseo: Alex Koslov, Hirooki Goto, Pierroth DQ Damian 666, Halloween, Mr. Aguila
Interview is with a guy in a Halloween mask, wearing Halloween’s shirt. I wonder who it could be?

Your Sunday hair match preview: The match will take place at Arena Coliseo, which is good, because Emilio Charles Jr. hasn’t won in Arena Mexico since 2003. (He’s on a 14 match losing streak in the building, if I’ve counted right.) Maximo’s taking this one for sure.

AAA’s airing the scheduled episode
Mascarita Divina, Mascartia Sagrada, Octagoncito b Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Charly Manson, Mini Psicosis
Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Psicosis II b Alan, Billy Boy, Decnnis
Abismo Negro, Antifaz del Norte, Charly Manson, Histeria b Cuervo, Espiritu, Ozz, Scoria
Elegido, Intocable, Oriental, Zorro b Alan Stone, Hator, Scorpio Jr., Zumbido
Brazo de Plata, La Parka Jr., Octagon b Chessman, Konnan, Muerte Cibernetica

  1. “10/20 Mexico: Hombre Sin Nombre, Loco Max, Sangre Azteca b Mascara Purpura, Maximo, Virus”

Nice! Last weeks sunday Coliseo card sucked anyway. :)

Whilst not disliking any of them, i wouldn’t exactly be too excited about any 1 vs 1 hair match headlining the big December show. I’m not too keen on cage matches either, so i’d rather have a fourway hair/mask match w/ any four of those guys in last nights main, depending on what direction they go feud-wise (substituting Hijo Del Shitmark for Dos jnr)

  2. I hope the hair match ends up airing on GDR. I will be great to hear Bryan and Vince talk about it.

  3. I am almost speechless when it comes to how awful the cards are for next week.

Let’s highlight the top 5 shitty moments to come:

1.OGUN makes his debut and gets to work a semi-main event.
2.Universo gets a martinente and is back in the main event w/o an injury angle.
3.Mictlan(?) makes his unannounced debut and for some reason I already fear whoever/whatever this is.
4.More women instead of a good Sunday undercard match.
5.Friday show is 4 matches: the main which will be awful, the tournament which will have nothing longer than 3 minutes and the two preliminary matches that will be the best on the show and we will never see.

I predict one of the Coliseo shows outdraws the Mexico show next week.

  4. Wow, i was coming over here to pretty much say the same thing. And i thought this weeks lineups were bad!

Those cards really are dreadful :(

  5. I read the news afterwards and I think Mictlan is another Gronda/Ogun type guy. Or maybe I read wrong. Either way… as Chui said yesterday – bye bye lucha boom.

If Tony Salazar and Panico are still booking, they need to be replaced NOW since they are obviously out of their only idea(i.e. push Mistico) and are now in 100% desperation mode.

  6. The sad thing is that next show might draw better and then the guys are going to think that there’s no point in pushing guys like Volador Jr, Averno & Mephisto if the ‘Stars’ are the draw… It seems they blamed Misterioso II on the slight attendance drop from a few months back… he’s back on Segundas…

Ogun??!?! Shit, he was stinking some VERY small lucha shows in Torreon… in Arena Mexico’s Semi Main?

To be fair, the place didn’t look that empty, or empty at all, but I wonder if they are only airing the top two matches so that they can move some guys from the upper levels to the bottom…
And Magadan was the guy absent this time… Ria

  7. What aired in USA Gala? I heard that there was a preview of the show that had Mexican Powers vs Barrio Boy’s, did they skip the Pe

  9. I had a lapsus idiotus…

They called the Fox Sports show “Guerreros del Ring”… They have:

CMLL (SUN) 10/22 Arena Coliseo Results
    3) Mascara Purpura, Maximo, Sagrado b Emilio Charles Jr., Mascara Ano 2000, Sangre Azteca
    5) Atlantis, Groon XXX, Shocker b Heavy Metal, Marco Corleone, Universo 2000 [pi]

  10. The good thing is that MTY is a few hours away… and everything will look A LOT better after that…

The positive thing about CMLL this week is that it looks as if the fans have forgiven Shocker, he’s not insanely over, but at least is not getting booed and there are some faint Shocker chants… it would be better if they find a way to turn Atlantis back to the tecnicos and Rey Bucanero can join Guerrero again…

I was thinking that the FS/GdR main event would lead into last night’s relevos increibles, but that was not the case… a bit better than what I expected, though.
