Rob looks back at the last decade of CMLL DF apuesta matches and picks up some surprising patterns. The research is worth checking yourself, but an important conclusion is CMLL typically does more apuesta matches when times are slow, except they haven’t been doing them this year.
Go Fight Live lists the IWL iPPV, up for on demand on Sunday, as their Saturday show. This includes the AAA wrestlers, who they previously said could not appear on iPPV. I dunno, but I’m probably not paying for an Electrocshock/Karoui match. Just can’t do it.
Konnan told a sports news program that the main event of Heroes Inmoratles will be the Perros vs the Psycho Clowns in a cage, for the third time in the last five major AAA shows.
Jushin Lyger wants to challenge for the trios title, and either one of the world light heavyweight titles (Lyger vs RUSH.)

For the Atlantis vs Ultimo Guerrero match I think I heard superlibre (may be wrong), what are the chances of that happening?
@conjuarez: It could happen but with Arena Mexico being blood-free I doubt it will. but I’ve been wrong before.
@conjuarez: I think it’s a good chance of happening, with all the fouls they’ve had in that feud.
CMLL.com confirms super libre is the plan.
Kinda curious how a super libre match would work in Arena Mexico. We got a bit of blood in Mascara/Averno, and didn’t Pierothito juice too?
I have a feeling it is going to be more along the lines of a Park/Wagner brawl, but probably not as deep into the crowd.
@Nikita: Didn’t Mistico and UG do a super libre that main evented kids day a few years ago?
The last Super Libre match I can find in Arena Mexico was 06/26/*1998* between Rayo Jr. & Steel, a week after their mask match. That doesn’t sound right, I must have something labeled wrong, but there have not been many.
Well, wasn’t Park/Wagner at the ’08? Anniversario basically an *unauthorized* Super Libre match, which directly led to them parting ways with CMLL?
@nikita: Yes! Panico even came out before assuring the press that they would have a good in-ring battle and not turn into a crowd brawl, and and he was so wrong. That was so great.
Super Libre generally means no referee in the ring to control the action. He just stands at ringside and counts pinfalls/prevents outside interference. In the old days they’d be bloody matches but these days I think we’ll just see some mask ripping at most. In fact Super Libre may now mean just one fall under Ultimo Guerrero’s booking. I assume we’ll find out next Friday since I doubt CMLL has any plans of letting people know what’s up beforehand.
