Leono/Exterminador, Solidaridad, Seuxis

CMLL (SUN) 08/21/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Javier Cruz Jr. b In Memoriam
2) Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno b Drago & Infierno
3) Lluvia & Marcela b Kiara & Zeuxis
Kiara is a young masked woman, debuting here.
4) Guerrero Maya Jr., Leono, Stuka Jr. DQ Arkángel de la Muerte, Exterminador, Skándalo
Exterminador and Leono are feuding; DQ is not specified but probably involved them, since they agreed to a hair match for next week.
5) Brazo de Plata, Máscara Dorada, Máximo b Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Bucanero
Rey Bucanero replaced Ultimo Guerrero, who was booked here in and Arena Mexico. (That darn programming department sabotaging UG again.) Atlantis did not get along with his partners, fighting with Dragon Rojo leading to a first fall loss. Rudos somehow won the second, with Mr. Aguila randomly showing up to help. The fall ended strangley, with the commission disqualifying the rudos – not sure if it was for Aguila or for the rudos attacking Atlantis. Atlantis challenged Dragon Rojo and UG to a tag title shot.

indy (SUN) 08/21/2011 Arena Solidaridad [FPC @ LMDLL, LuchaMania]
***20th Anniversary Show***
1) Dama de Hierro L Justiciera, La Chacala, Nahomi, Dark Fanasy, Poly Star [hair, mask]
Dama de Hierro lost her mask to Dark Fantasy. Her name is Rocio Valdez, from Monterrey, five years a wrestler. I hope this means she’s changing her name too.
2) Ángel Espacial & El Fuerte b Koko Viper & Memo Valles and Galactar & Rey Apostol and Dark War & Halcon Maltes [losers advance, mask]
Actually a three match tournament with the losing team losing their masks. El Fuerte was Hugo Gamez, 20 years old, 2 years a wrestler, from Monterrey. He also had just lost his mask four months ago at a lucha expo.
3) Difunto I & Difunto II b Potro Jr. & Vaquero Romo [money in a bag]
Vaquero Romo and Potro Jr. are La 818, and would have preferred to have a title match because “they have plenty of money”. First decent match on the show, bloody brawl with bottles used. Difunto won with helep from El Millonario. Bengali ran out to help out the Difuntos, and Voltaje Negro also helped the rudos.
4) Pimpinela Escarlata b Orquídea Negra [hair]
Pimpi won, of course. Two short falls, one long fall. Orquidea fouled Pimpi and got a visual pin, but the ref would not count. Pimpi did the same and got the pin.
5) Tigre Universitario L Caifan Rockero I and Diluvio Negro II and Silver Star and Voltaje Negro and May Flowers and Diluvio Negro I [hair, mask]
Advertised as War Games, but really everyone for themselves with someone new entering every 3 minutes. Tigre Universitario was stretchered out without actually losing the match, then of course came back and lost his hair to Diluvio Negro I (or Silver Star, depending on the recap)
6) Casandro, LA Park, Super Crazy b Carlito, Chavo Guerrero, Magno
Casandro was quite good. Chavo did his usual stuff but did not impress. Super Crazy submitted Carlito and LA Park beat Magno for the win.

Other News

CMLL’s Twitter says Seuxis has left to Japan to take part in the CMLL/Reina tournament. I had thought it was just going to be for one show, but the twitter says it’s another three month stint. That makes four CMLL women there now (Comandante, Dama de Hierro, La Afrodita, not sure if Shimoda is still there) out of a not so big regular roster. I think this is a really good deal for CMLL – the young women need more work than they’re going to get in CMLL, and need to be hidden away from the fans until they’re ready to make a good impression. It’d probably be nicer for everyone if the women didn’t have travel thousands of miles away to find people to work with, but it’s better that what they have been doing. CMLL only needs to do the same with the guys, to save us from more Gen11 not-ready debuts.

El Siglo de Torreon does fine work, and untwists the Brillante family tree in hyping a show hyping the Gemas del Ring reuniting on a show in a couple weekends. There’s a mention of a new Espanto Jr., who was hyped in Box Y Lucha (and I think Luchas 2000) a few weeks ago as an upcoming CMLL debut. Actually thought he would’ve debuted by now.

Rush defends the CMLL LH title against Mr. Aguilia tonight in Arena Mexico. I’d be surprised if he lost. Maybe we can figure out which titles are actually important by checking to see if they’re defended in main events; this one, Garza’s, and the CMLL trios all have been recently, most others have not. Dragon Lee replaces Fuego in the random tag match; Fuego presumably has important mambo lessons.

Rob has highlights of AAA March 4, 2011 – the start of the Carlito run you’ve already forgotten.

Lineups

2) Demus 3:16, Eléctrico, Mascarita Dorada vs Astral, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior [Relevos Increíbles]
3) Fuego, Rey Cometa, Sagrado vs Hijo del Signo, Hooligan, Loco Max
4) Black Warrior, Super Porky, Valiente vs Euforia, Vangelis, Yoshihashi
5) Blue Panther, La Máscara, Toscano vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

That sure is a weird segunda.

1) El Divino vs Relampago

5) La Sombra, Máximo, Shocker vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

We were Leono hair match free for 3 years, 7 months, and 28 days. I wonder if this means whoever was booking those hair matches is now booking here, or if Leono’s name just got pulled out of the hat.

I’m not sure I like this idea of separating Super Comando & Artillero. Can CMLL afford a two front war???

CMLL (MON) 08/29/2011 Arena Puebla
1) Blue Center & Centella de Oro vs Ares & Centauro de Fuego
2) Starman, Stigma, Super Halcon Jr. vs Hooligan, King Jaguar, Tiger

4) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Hijo del Fantasma vs Histeria, Olímpico, Psicosis
5) Atlantis, Héctor Garza, La Sombra vs Averno, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Último Guerrero

Tanahashi’s return match. IWGP champ vs CMLL champ in that trios, though I hope we get the match with Sombra.

10 thoughts to “Leono/Exterminador, Solidaridad, Seuxis”

  1. @Ricardo: Leono has never lost his hair, won six, and hasn’t gotten over much. It is probably time. But it’s probably not going to be Exterminador who beats him.

  2. You didn’t mention the possibility of Sting coming to AAA. That would be good if he’s used properly.

  3. @Arakas: There’s a lot of things other sites have posted in the last day that I haven’t posted. I’m not required to post everything that everyone else posted, I try to keep it to the things that seem worthwhile. The Sting thing was the same as Ric Flair thing from a few days ago, people just trying to attach names to a rumor with no name.

  4. “4) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Hijo del Fantasma vs Histeria, Olímpico, Psicosis
    5) Atlantis, Héctor Garza, La Sombra vs Averno, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Último Guerrero”

Typical CMLL. Basically makes the point Cesar did a few weeks back. Would it really have been too hard to take Atlantis out and put him where Fantasma is to keep the new trio together?

  5. If CMLL is so gung ho about sending the young women to Japan, why don’t the send Goya Kong for a year?

  6. @Tim: I don’t if this is why, but you have to want to go. Silueta mentioned she went because other people (Estrellita Magica, seemingly) decline the invite.

Sending people who haven’t debuted probably means everyone who has debuted either has passed on it or, for whatever reason, haven’t been wanted.

  7. Yeah I doubt Goya Kong would have turned it down if offered. The Brazos were super over in Japan so she would instantly be treated well there and not like the typical rookies that CMLL sends over.
