AAA TV (SUN) 07/31/2011 Plaza de Toros Nuevo Progresso de Guadalajara [R de Rudo]
***Verano de Escandalo, 2011***
1) Mini Monster Clown, Mini Murder Clown, Mini Psycho Clown b Mascarita Divina, Mini Charly Manson, Octagoncito
Triple plancha by the Mini Clowns, who are 2-0.
2) Pimpinela Escarlata b Mari Apache and Fabi Apache and Lolita and Jennifer Blake and Mickie James and Cinthia Moreno and Sexy Star [Reina De Reinas]
Mystery woman was Pimpi. Konnan got involved, but Pimpi still kissed Mickie and pinned her for the title win.
3) Drago, Electroshock, Heavy Metal b Samoa Joe, Silver Kain, Último Gladiador
Jennifer Blake appears to be a Maniaca, or was just here to counter Nanyzh Rock. Electroshock got Silver with a cutter for the win.
4) Billy el Malo, Cibernético, Escoria, Tabú DQ Cuervo, Espíritu, La Parka Jr., Ozz
Excessive violence DQ. Bloody match, Parka doing much of the bleeding but beating Taboo enough to get the finish over turned (though he had earlier passed on dropping him with a martinete.) That actually might be the end of Tabu. Bizarros taped the other tecnicos to the ropes, then tied Parka to a wooden cross and beat him. General crucifition.
5) Chessman b Extreme Tiger and Joe Lider and Abyss [Monsters Ball]
Not for the Cruiserweight title, though there still seemed to be confusion on that point. Lider was about to beat Chessman when Nicho ran in and attacked Lider. Nicho put Lider thru a flaming table, and Chessman got the win.
6) Jeff Jarrett b Dr. Wagner Jr., LA Park [AAA HEAVY]
Elimination rules. Jarrett fouled Wagner and beat him with the Stroke. Jarrett tried to convince Park to take a dive. This did not work. Masked Zorro (probably not Charly Manson) ran in, hitting Park with a guitar, and Jarrett got the win. Park was not happy with his partners. Post match, La Socidead appeared. Dorian told Marisela he could not be fired and TNA was taking over. Sociedad celebrated the title win with Park angrily watching from afar, then threatened to beat up Wagner. Mesias ran down to run them off. Park made it clear he didn’t like Wagner, didn’t like Mesias and wasn’t too fond of Jarrett or Konnan either.
7) X-Fly L Psycho Clown , Damián 666, Murder Clown, Monster Clown, Halloween [cage of death]
Another very bloody match, the third of the last four. Halloween was first out, followed by Monster and Murder. Damian told X-Fly to hold Psycho for a top rope move, and Damian climbed, and climbed, and climbed right to safety. That left the heavyweight champion of Mexico and Psycho Clown, and X-Fly was the big loser on this night.
2011 AAA TV Chart
Mexico: 08/14, 08/21
Orizaba was turned into a double taping, so this is one week later than earlier figured.
(Rob points out this is the third major show this year to include a Brazo in the main event. Maybe Robin is main eventing the anniversary show?)
Noticeably, no Perro Aguayo Jr. Perro, at least check, lived in Guadalajara and was surely available to make an appearance. AAA appears to have chosen not to give him another chance.
Without Perro, this feud is over (and not at all the way it was supposed to end.) The talk I had heard going into the match was this had been considered the end point for the Perros del Mal concept in AAA. Some of the surviving members might continue to exist in a different group, but the Perros del Mal name no longer had any value without it’s leader. The trios titles are a slight problem, but only that much because they really don’t matter to AAA.
I presume Los Perros heard the same thing, and are now looking for options. Earlier this week, a first time poster in the Box Y Lucha forum said Los Perros were negotiating with CMLL. This seemed not even credible enough to link to (there are such things!), but La Catedral adds it’s info:
- Damian did talk to CMLL on behalf of his group about returning
- then someone in Perros del Mal posted about the story to drum up fan support for the idea
Thread’s only gotten 3 pages, which is not a lot of support. Anyway, CMLL was interested in enough in the idea to the point where the Garza storyline was not leading to him becoming a tecnico, but bringing in Los Perros as his new back up versus the Invasors (and Volador). Garza would be leader of the group, and Perro Jr. would be off taking care of himself for a while. CMLL would get the national heavyweight championship in the bargain (X-Fly for the Universal title!), if this were all to happen.
La Catedral says “negotiations are at a standstill”, CMLL unhappy about the Perros leaking this story. La Catedral bringing more attention to the negotiation probably also doesn’t help it get done, and they admit that they’re not in favor of the move. (I expect denials all around within 48 hours.)
As a short term attention getter, I think it could work, but I think these guys are past their expiration as top draws and would be disappointed if CMLL advanced them over some of the current wrestlers. CMLL wants a spark, and there definitely was a time when these guys provided it. It’s no longer that time.
