Mascara & Averno, Soberano, Expo lineups

Averno’s promo is here.

CMLL in Japan

NJPW 06/07: Mascara Dorada [8] b Gedo [2] (7:37)

Dorada did get the 8 points, because since Great Sasuke lost to Kota Ibushi with all the other expected results, he’s only in third behind both Ibushi and Sasuke. Dorada lost to both guys, so that seems to mean he’s eliminated. He’s got one final league match vs KUSHIDA tomorrow, who’s still in the running.

Other News

Averno‘s “I’m not going to WWE!” interview tour rolled thru Guadalajara Sunday. He doesn’t really explain why his father said so, but just insists on his personal professionalism.

Guerrero Maya Jr. feels winning today will be a double challenge – fighting for a title and fighting against a Maestro. Virus is the favorite to win the CMLL Super Light championship tonight, but Maya says he plans to out last Virus.

The Soberano wrestling in today’s opener turns out to be Euforia’s young son (scroll down to the last bit.) He’s just 17, but he’s been wrestling around La Laguna the last few years.

LuchaWorld has Alfredo on 06/04 CMLL LATV.

Rob has highlights of AAA TV 10/20/10

2) Ayumi, Luna Mágica, Marcela vs Amapola, La Comandante, La Seductora
3) Black Warrior, Metro, Sangre Azteca vs Euforia, Misterioso Jr., Vangelis
4) Blue Panther, Hijo del Fantasma, La Sombra vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Shinsuke Nakamura, Volador Jr.
5) Último Guerrero vs Rush [CMLL HEAVY]

As far as we can determine, Rush is fighting to become the first Mexican to hold Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight titles at the same time.

Dragon Rojo exists!

Two straight weeks of no Tapatios vs Gen 11. Though the Tapatios are still around…

CMLL (SUN) 06/12/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Thunder Boy vs Black Metal
2) Magnum & Metatrón vs Drago & Evola
3) Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II vs Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno
4) Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro, Stuka Jr. vs Puma King, Rey Escorpion, Tiger Kid
5) Ángel de Oro, Sagrado, Super Porky vs Histeria, Olímpico, Psicosis

Back in the long ago days where the Tapatios were tecnicos (February), they won the tag match.

Peculiar how Histeria is suddenly getting booked by CMLL again, especially after his brother Durango was let go.

CMLL (MON) 06/13/2011 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano & Centella de Oro vs King Jaguar & Siki Osama
2) Lestat, Stigma, Tigre Rojo Jr. vs Dr. X, Hooligan, Loco Max
3) Ayumi, Luna Mágica, Marcela vs Amapola, Mima Shimoda, Princesa Sugheit
4) Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro, Valiente vs Ephesto, Misterioso Jr., Virus
5) Rush, Strong Man, Super Porky vs Atlantis, Shinsuke Nakamura, Último Guerrero

Loco Max & the Tuareg vs Puebla tecnicos! In related news, the anniversary show is coming up here.

That semifinal looks great.

Juniors (SAT) 07/23/2011 Centro Banamex
1) Guerrero Mistico Jr. & Tartu el Brujo Jr. vs Calaca Rumbera Jr. & Rolling Boy
2) Hermano Muerte Jr., Sepulcro Jr., Ultratumba Jr. vs Tortuguilla Karateka I, Tortuguilla Karateka II, Zodiacal Jr.
3) Estrella Blanca Jr. I, Estrella Blanca Jr. II, Hijo de Clímax vs Arlequin Jr., Masakre Jr., Talisman Jr.
4) Babe Torress vs Arturo Ganoa Jr., Andy Barrow Jr. [hair]
5) Espanto II Jr., Fishman Jr., Killer Jr. vs Falcon Jr., Huracan Ramirez Jr., Kung Fu Jr.
6) Cuchillo Jr., Hijo de Rambo, Principe Odin vs Gallo Tapado Jr., Halcon 78 Jr., Hijo de Mascara Sagrada [Juniors TRIOS]

The usual sort of card they’ve been doing, plus the hair match.

CMLL (SAT) 07/23/2011 Centro Banamex
1) Cancerbero, Pólvora, Raziel vs Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata, Höruz
2) Dark Angel, Goya Kong, Lluvia vs Amapola, Princesa Sugheit, Zeuxis
3) Mr. Águila, Olímpico, Psicosis vs Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Mephisto
4) Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero vs Hijo del Fantasma, Máscara Dorada, Máximo
5) Atlantis, La Sombra, Volador Jr. vs La Máscara, Shocker, Último Guerrero [Relevos Increíbles]

Averno in the tercera, in late July. That’s precious. Angel de Oro being in the opener and Bucanero in Pesta Negra seems to indicate this card was made out a while ago. Interesting to see Ultimo Guerrero & Atlantis on opposite sides.

Seuxis (and Silueta) went to Japan in mid April and were supposed to be there for three months, so this seems about right for when she should be back. I would’ve guessed Lluvia or Goya would’ve been headed over their next, but it doesn’t appear so.

IWRG (SAT) 07/23/2011 Arena Naucalpan
1) IWRG Gym vs Villanos Gym [Copa High Power]
2) Dinamic Black, Freelance, Golden Magic vs Carta Brava Jr., Comando Negro, Eterno
3) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro vs Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Gringo Loco [lumber jack strap]
4) Black Terry & Solar I vs Negro Navarro & Pirata Morgan
5) Hijo de LA Park, Trauma I, Ultramán Jr. vs ?, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.
6) Silver Kain vs Electroshock [IWRG HEAVY]

More likely to actually appear in their matches: Gringo Loco or Averno?

I should go fill in the draw for the fourth match already.

Mystery man in the semimain is another junior.

DTU (SUN) 07/24/2011 Centro Banamex
1) Jhonky vs Pequeno Cobra, Kaleth, Radical, Miedo Extremo, Arana de Plata Jr., ? [DTU ACADEMIA]
2) Vanely vs Chica Tormenta, La Vaquerita, Yuki Star, Shitara, Keira, Lily Fighter, Ashely, Megan [DTU WOMEN]
3) Flamita vs Yakuza, Masivo [DTU Alto Rendimento]
4) Aeroboy vs Paranoiko, Eterno, Fenix (AAA), Dark Dragon [#1 Contenders, DTU]
5) Chucho el Roto & Sadico vs Daga & Hormiga and Team IWRG 1 & Team IWRG 2
6) Samurai del Sol vs Drastik Boy, Zumbi, Violento Jack, Shiima Xion

Usual card. The Women’s title is new, the Academia championship is vacant.

PdM (SUN) 07/24/2011 Centro Banamex
1) Turbo vs Black Thunder
2) Celestial & Cósmico vs Mini Talisman & Mr. Aguilita
3) Hijo de LA Park, Tony Rivera, Zumbi vs Bestia 666, Pesadilla, Radge
4) Casandro vs X-Fly [MEX HEAVY]
5) Marco Corleone, MVP, Shelton Benjamin vs Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween

I know the guys in the opener have had that match a lot of times, but the Perros del Mal minis are quickly catching up.

If you are rooting for X-Fly in that title match, you are wrong.

Shelton’s worked for Perros previously, but MVP is making his debut.

  1. Man I hope some one tapes that Maestros tag. It has been a while since we have seen Navarro v. Terry

  2. @Phil: Right after I got this post up, the Lucha Libre Expo twitter said every card on the show is airing on one TV network or another. (IWRG supposedly on TV Azteca, which would be new/return.) Chances are good.

  3. @Phil: You could just rename the file of last year’s Expo tag with today’s date and voila.

I much prefer watching Black Terry work against the Oficiales (great brawling) or younger IWRG guys since you get to watch learning on the spot. They can save the old-timer exhibitions for those Expo shows or foreign tours.

  4. @thecubsfan: I doubt that’s happening. They’re already getting questioned about their supposed TV schedule on facebook. I think its most likely TVCDeportes gets most of the non-AAA/CMLL shows.

  5. Here’s what they have listed on their facebook page:

“¿Sabías que todas las funciones del evento se transmiten por televisión? Juniors-Fox Sports, CMLL-Canal 28, IWRG-TV Azteca, DTU-TVC Deportes, Triple A-Televisa, Perros del Mal-Televisa y TVC Deportes.”

Juniors on Fox Sports? That sounds more like a show that would run on AYM Sports, so get ready cubs, if that leads to a Javier Llanes return to your TV! :P

  6. Averno is correct in saying “Averno” the persona is not going to the WWE. But someone should ask if the person under the mask is.

  7. Cubs Not Sure If you ever got the results of those CMLL Ladies in REINA
