CMLL (TUE) 04/05/2011 Arena Mexico [Record (1-3), CMLL, Record (4-6)]
***Fan Apperciation Day, Apr (TUE)***
1) Bengala & Leono DQ Cancerbero & Mortiz
Original rudo team with Camorra & Cholo, but they’re both out with injuries. Cancerbero in the opener, incredible! Mortiz fouled Leono for DQ.
2) Dalys la Caribeña, Dark Angel, Marcela b Amapola, Mima Shimoda, Princesa Blanca
Amapola went for a Michinoku Driver on Dark Angel, but she reversed it to a rana for the win.
3) Pierrothito b Astral [MEX LIGHT]
Mortiz & Bengala were the seconds. Pierroth kept the title, winning the first and third falls.
4) Delta, Hijo del Fantasma, Metro b Euforia, Raziel, Vangelis
Phantom Lariat on Euforia for the pin.
5) Valiente b Pólvora [MEX WELTER]
Seconds were Fantasma and Inquisidor. Polvora won the first with a Super Polvora Driver, but Valiente took the last two falls to keep his title. Said to be a very good match.
6) Blue Panther, La Máscara, La Sombra b Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., Último Guerrero
Tecnicos won again, and Mascara/Sombra challenged for a title shot. UG agreed for next week.
Kcidis notes Blue Panther‘s array of devastating holds in this match.

Gallo & Metatron repalced Angel de Oro and Fuego. Invasors won easily.
5) Rush, Strong Man, Toscano b Héctor Garza, Terrible, Texano Jr.
Fuego calls this “a night of poses.”
Mi Lucha Libre has a good interview with Talisman Jr. He’s actually Pompin’s nephew. Pompin tried to get him to train in Arena Mexico, but he was too intimated and ended up in Coacalo as Niño Tiburón (and there’s another story behind that.) When he finally switched to Arena Mexico, he ended up in Talisman’s class, and jokingly said he wanted to wrestle as Talisman. Talisman didn’t think it was a joke and was surprised when he didn’t actually use the name. Pompin negotiated official permission to use the name, which Talisman Jr. has used since.
Ultimo Guerrero talked about the heavyweight title with Record. He’s got no problem with how he beat Mr. Niebla – a win is a win. He’s going to give La Mascara his title shot – as long Mascara gains enough weight to be a heavyweight, because UG had to drop weight to challenge for the light heavyweight title. (Right.) The guy Guerrero really wants to fight in a title match is Strong Man, because Ultimo Guerrero is sort of crazy and he thinks he can cheat to beat him.
Oficial AK-47 says the Oficials will win tomorrow’s triangle #1 contenders match for IWRG’s trios title. Losing the titles has motivated them more than the other teams. Their plan is to take out the Perros early, since they don’t really have any offense until they break out the light tubes and tables, then take care of the Psycho Circus, and then win back the trios titles next week so that order can be restored.
El Hijo del Santo’s interview show is airing on TVC Deportes, so it’ll be at as big as DTU. The first show is tomorrow at 9pm, with Mil Mascaras, Solar and Negro Navarro, and he’s excited to finally use his Communication Science college degree.
El Solitario passed away 25 years ago today.

***Fan Apperciation Day, Apr (SUN)***
1) Höruz, Molotov, Robin vs Artillero, Mortiz, Súper Comando
2) Goya Kong & Luna Mágica vs La Comandante & Zeuxis
3) Dragon Lee, Hijo del Signo, Hombre Bala Jr. vs Apocalipsis, Rayo Tapatío II, Semental

5) Black Warrior, Strong Man, Super Porky vs Hirooki Goto, Terrible, Texano
6) La Sombra vs Psicosis [NWA WELTER]
Sombra should continue the week of successful title defenses. That women’s tag match seems concerning, but it won’t air on TV.
CMLL (MON) 04/11/2011 Arena Puebla
1) Blue Center & Centella de Oro vs Aguila Guerrera & Ares
2) Höruz, Milenium, Robin vs Artillero, Espiritu Maligno, Súper Comando
3) Hombre Bala Jr. vs Hijo del Signo [tournament]
4) Diamante vs Puma King [tournament]
5) Sagrado, Toscano, Valiente vs Negro Casas, Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi
6) La Sombra, Máscara Dorada, Strong Man vs El Alebrije, Hirooki Goto, Psicosis
The tournament is described as “forjando un ídolo” (forging an idol), which sounds like something you might run if you’re coming up with a new Mistico. It’s not certain it’s that, it’s very unspecific. It’s kind of very odd to do a tournament of novatos just after your last tournament of novatos has ended, but that’s CMLL.
This would be Aguila Guerrera match here since late 2009.

Really hoping they make Puma King the next Mistico!
@Alan: I’m lobbying for Zacarias el Periquito for next Mistico. I think even Rob would be okay with that choice.
Dude, aren’t you going to comment on Sín Cara’s debut?
Nope. Why would I, here? There plenty of great places to discuss WWE on the internet, this is not really one of them.
I cannot wait to see Cadena Tres this coming Saturday as it seems the whole show was fun and really want to see/hear the crowd’s reaction to Valiente vs Pólvora’s match.
@Arakas: I will comment: I thought his leap over the top rope into the ring was the most amazing thing I ever saw… until I went back to see if there was a springboard there, and yup, there sure was.
@Nikita: He almost botched it too. Mistico in WWE is interesting. I don’t know how he’ll get over without fans considering him a Rey Jr. ripoff.
CMLL 2.9
Boxing Televisa 7.7
Boxing Azteca 9.2
AAA 3.2
Accion 8.2
Mas Deporte 4.9
@LLL: Oh. I think boxing on Televisa was from Arena Mexico.
I’m sorry but you said you were disappointed when you found out that he was not able to leap from the floor, over the top rope and into the ring? You were disappointed that he did not have super human powers? He he could do that he would be an olympic gold winner in high jump several times over. I thought it was an excellent debut and a cool visual that really made him look awesome, springboard or not
@Martin: People will complain about anything. He could have jumped straight to the ring from the top of the ramp and people would still bitch about it. I liked his debut, I look forward to seeing what he can do in WWE.
I thought his debut was alright. I didn’t think it was as great as some people were making it out to be and I didn’t think it was bad. Just okay. I’m more interested in the Smackdown run-in since he’s doing it during one of WWE’s top storylines so that should be interesting.
@Martin – Where exactly in my post was the word “disappointed”?
I said it was one of the most impressive things that I had ever seen, until I realized he didn’t really make that leap. It was pretty cool, but not amazing.
As far as what he actually did, it wasn’t anything I haven’t seen from him hundreds of times. Him doing it for Vince doesn’t make it better.
