CMLL
It’s just a normal CMLL card on paper tonight. The main event has Soberano Jr., Stuka Jr., and Volador Jr. against Atlantis Jr., Cavernario, and Gran Guerrero. Could be good, probably will be Stuka/Atlantis focused. Los Inferanles face the slightly renamed OneAtos Team (Esfinge, Fugaz, Star Black.) Dulce Atrapasuenos face Ola Negra; hopefully, Rey Cometa makes it out with all his teeth in his mouth.
This is a TicketmasterLive show for $5. I never got a refund for last week’s show. I really should stop paying for these. I’ll probably keep paying for them. I probably should also be angrier about them just taking the $5 last week and not getting it back.
Parts of last week’s CMLL unaired show should air on Televisa Saturday. I do try to record Televisa’s show, but it doesn’t always work, and I’ll put up Saturday if it works this time. It’ll turn up on YouTube next week either way.
Dark Silueta joined Los Depredadores on CMLL Informa. Silueta’s been pushed as a Satanico protege, so her being part of a non-Los Inferanles group is a bit of fan controversy. In practice, it doesn’t matter – she’ll use the face mask imagery but isn’t going to be teaming with men in CMLL. This seems more like Volador endorsing the people he believes works the hardest in various divisions – he’s talking about having women, mini and micro Depredadores in the past and is two-thirds the way there.
CMLL is doing a lot of family interviews to promote Copa Dinsaita. ESTO has one with the Atlantis family. Atlantis Jr. said he’d been working 10 years to get that name, which is much longer than he’s said in the past (perhaps a gentle exaggeration.) Euforia, talking about his team with Soberano in La Presna, noted he got to team with his father when he was young and enjoyed being able to do the same with the son. He also off-handily mentions once considering leaving CMLL for lack of chances but deciding to stick around rather than leave his son alone. No context to that. Euforia does not want Soberano to join Los Infernales but does enjoy teaming with him.

Nothing stands out too much here. This building will have its anniversary show on June 21st, so maybe something gets set up for that main event.
Titan finished up his NJPW tour with his team winning a preliminary atomicos early Friday morning. CMLL will book wrestlers from the moment they’re back in Mexico but Titan isn’t listed yet; maybe he’s taking a few well-deserved days off.
NJPW Strong announced Negro Casas for their June 19th Los Angeles taping. He’ll team with Adrian Quest and Lucas Riley against Mascara Dorada, Ren Narita, and David Finlay. These shows are taped as TV episodes and the match will air several weeks down the line.
AAA
AAA on Space (6:30 pm CT) should have the rest of May 21st Showcenter event. (The show description had it as “Puebla 1” at one point, but it’s now “Showcenter II”.) Jose Manuel Guillen previously called the Dragon Lee & Dralistico vs Bestia 666 & Toxin vs Antifaz & Flamita match the best this year in AAA, and we should get to see it. I’ll stream on Twitch.
Jeff Hardy is believed to suffer in his match on Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing show, according to his brother on a podcast. Jeff and Matt are currently scheduled to wrestle Dragon Lee & Dralistico as the main event on June 18th’s TripleMania show in Tijuana. If it was a concussion, those sometimes heal quickly and sometimes take a while. Jeff also has had plenty of other injuries and appeared banged up from a ladder match prior. There’s no knowing for sure if Jeff will be ok to go two weeks out and also there’s no sense in taking him off the show early. AAA would probably do well to work out a backup plan but otherwise can just cross their fingers and wait to see if it works out for them.
Octagon told the press that he’s continued to win court cases against AAA, AAA has refused to pay, and so the court is going to seize AAA’s offices next month and sell them to pay Octagon what he’s owed. Anything that follows “Octagon told the press” should be read with a bit of caution. Octagon has claimed to win many court cases without any obvious difference or effect on AAA. I have a lot of trouble believing this story and I’m mostly just putting it here on the rare chance it matters later.

This was a Mas Lucha Premium show. They often stream a match or two for free as a preview, this time they streamed all the way through the third match. That’s worth taking a look; it’s really the best Big Lucha match possible involving people who are primarily Big Lucha people. The Black Generation team of Bendito, Elemental and Yutani are really good and the Sky Team opposition holds together better than their most recent shows; better than the Wednesday big Lucha World.
The Villanos/Brazos match looks as bloody as you’d expect. There have been so many fake Pierroths and none have been interesting, so running an angle with another one is just noise to me. KAOZ did mention they’ve got the permission of famous Pierroth (Noberto Salgado)’s family, so at least he may be getting something out of it. Reina Dorada picked up a title win about two weeks before she’s the most likely to lose her mask at TripleMania.

MLW aired Bandido vs Flamita and Los Parks vs Gangrel & Pagano yesterday. That’s the last LA Park match in MLW for now.
Ultimo Dragon, on this morning’s Dragongate show, announced Hijo del Santo would appear on his July 30th “35th Anniversary show” in Kobe. Santo and Ultimo Dragon have worked together through the years. Hijo del Santo seems to prefer/insist he has video rights to his matches of late, and I’m not sure how that would work with Dragongate.
El Hijo del Santo also appears in an ad campaign for Netflix’s Stranger Things and Cheetos; there’s a teaser video up now and there are posters of Santo wrestling one of the demon’s from the horror show. The notable part is the wrestling scenes were clearly filmed at Arena Coliseo, which might be the first time Santo has stepped foot in that particular CMLL building in 16 years. CMLL rents Arena Coliseo out for commercials and film work from time to time and may not have even known Santo was part of the commercial until it aired
