Psycho Clown & LA Park coming to Naucalpan, CMLL early week results, packed Friday night lineup

CMLL

CMLL (MON) 12/06/2021 Arena Puebla [El Sol de Puebla]
4) Gemelo Diablo I, Gemelo Diablo I, Sagrado b Soberano Jr., Star Jr., Titán
Star Jr. bled from his nose after a dive gone bad, tried to continue, and was told to stop by referee Edgar. Rudos took advantage of the numbers.
5) Místico b Averno
Mistico took 2/3 to win, beating Averno with la Mistica

This is the first time this publication has written about an Arena Puebla show in two months (when Polvora & Felino Jr. won the tag titles.) They mention attendance was strong, which matches what I’ve seen. Averno coming back to face Mistico is a draw, at least for the first time.

I’m not totally sure about the semi-main result.

CMLL (TUE) 12/07/2021 Arena México [Box y Lucha, CMLLEstrellas del RingKaiser Sports]
1) Angelito, Fantasy, Último Dragóncito b Acero, Aéreo, Shockercito CMLL | Último Dragoncito, Fantasy y Angelito VS Shockercito, Aéreo y Acero. (posted by Más Lucha)
2) Eléctrico, Retro, Robin b Cholo, Grako, Inquisidor CMLL | Robin, Retro y Eléctrico VS Inquisidor, Drako y El Cholo (posted by mluchatv)
Tecnicos took 1/3
3) La Jarochita, La Vaquerita, Marcela DQ Dalys, Reyna Isis, Stephanie Vaquer CMLL | Dalys, Reyna Isis y Stephanie Vaquer VS Marcela, La Jarochita y La Vaquerita (posted by mluchatv)
Tecnicas took 1/3. Dalys unmasked Jarochita for the DQ
4) Esfinge, Kráneo, Volcano b El Hijo del Villano III, Luciferno, Rey Bucanero CMLL | ¡Aplastantes! Kraneo, Volcano y Esfinge se llevan el triunfo (posted by mluchatv)
Tecnicos took 2/3
5) Atlantis, Titán, Volador Jr. b Felino, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero CMLL | Atlantis, Titán y Volador Jr. VS Último Guerrero, Negro Casas y Felino (posted by mluchatv)
Tecnicos took 2/3

An all tecnico night. CMLL seems to have switched back to the main events being three falls.

CMLL advertised this show as a stream on Marca Claro. The show didn’t stream. Neither CMLL or Marca explained why; they just left up the social media posts promoting it. No idea if it was just a short run or if they’ll be back next week.

CMLL (TUE) 12/07/2021 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, Arena Coliseo Guadalajara (video), Fuego en el Ring]
1) Atilius & Rey Urano b Aurelius & Maxiums
debuts for everyone
2) Adrenalina, Estrella Oriental, Minotauro b Destructor, Persa, Quka
3) Cris Skin, Joker, Omar Brunetti, Vaquero Jr. b Bestia Negra, Carlo Roggi, Difunto, Fúnebre
Vaquero snuck in a foul on Difunto. Challenges continued for a cage match, which will happen next week. Money thrown in.
4) Dark Silueta © DQ Lluvia [MEX WOMEN]
Straight falls. First defense. Lluvia DQed for excessive violence.
5) Atlantis Jr., Místico, Soberano Jr. b Averno, Mephisto, Principe Daniel

The excessive violence DQ was Lluvia putting on a hold and not letting go of it quick enough. The referee never signaled the match was over, didn’t make a five count, just waved his arms like there Silueta had not quit, pulled Lluvia off, and gave Silueta the win. It came off like an evil or dumb referee decision. Lluvia argued the call for about ten seconds, then shook Silueta’s hand, raised her arm, and shrugged her should. The crowd looked appropriately baffled. This seems like one of those finishes where they’re trying to protect someone and everyone comes off worse.

The Arena Coliseo Guadalajara show was broadcast with one camera and the picture quality seemed off, so something must’ve happened. Could’ve been just someone’s phone instead of the usual production equipment.

CMLL (FRI) 12/10/2021 Arena México
1) Dulce Gardenia, El Audaz, Espíritu Negro vs Disturbio, Nitro, Pólvora
2) Magia Blanca & Volador Jr. vs Akuma & Gran Guerrero and Blue Panther & Cachorro and El Coyote & Euforia and Sonic & Stuka Jr. and Enfermero Jr. & Mephisto and Panterita del Ring & Panterita del Ring Jr. and Cavernario & Rugido [Gran Alternativa, semifinal]
3) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, 8f]
4) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, 8f]
5) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, 8f]
6) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, 8f]
7) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, quarterfinal]
8) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, quarterfinal]
9) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, semifinal]
10) Soberano Jr. vs Templario [CMLL MIDDLE, final]
11) Fugaz, Místico, Star Jr. vs Ángel de Oro, Averno, Terrible [Relevos Increíbles]

A strange thing to say for a CMLL show: this is maybe a too-busy card. Soberano/Templario should get a lot of time for quality, the main event should get a lot of time to make Averno’s return feel like a big deal, and there’s a tournament block that’ll eat up a lot of time. It can work but it’ll be tricky. It also is a better $4 PPV than some of the $12 one they’ve done in the past. If they’d just bother to figure out VOD, this would be easy to recommend.

Rugido appears to be a rudo even though he’s in the Depredadores. There are no obvious candidates to advance; there are interesting picks like Panterita Jr. & Sonic but this is a crew without much momentum. I guess Volador/Magia Blanca are the favorites because it’s Volador.

CMLL (SAT) 12/11/2021 Arena Coliseo
1) Leono & Retro vs Apocalipsis & Príncipe Odín Jr.
2) Marcela, Princesa Sugehit, Skadi vs Amapola, La Comandante, Metálica
3) Eléctrico © vs Panterita del Ring Jr. [MEX LIGHT]
8th defense
4) Dark Panther, Hombre Bala Jr., Stuka Jr. vs Gemelo Diablo I, Gemelo Diablo II, Sagrado
5) Místico, Soberano Jr., Volador Jr. vs Cavernario, Hechicero, Templario

I would like a CMLL subscription service to exist so I could watch a single cam version of that title match. The main event could be good, could be fine with them hurrying onto other things quickly.

CMLL (MON) 12/13/2021 Arena Puebla
1) Meyer vs Fénix So
2) Micro Gemelo Diablo I & Micro Gemelo Diablo II vs Chamuel & Micro Ángel
3) El Audaz & Esfinge vs Felino Jr. & Pólvora
4) Soberano Jr., Star Jr., Titán vs Gemelo Diablo I, Gemelo Diablo II, Sagrado
5) Atlantis Jr., Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero vs Ángel de Oro, Niebla Roja, Terrible [Relevos Increíbles]

This would be Niebla Roja’s first match since July; he’s been gone long enough that his last match was against NGD. Semi-main was a rematch. Felino Jr. & Polvora wrestle a lot of tag matches on this show.

No Sunday lineup yet. I wonder if they’re just getting the Puebla lineups quicker now.

Okumura is back in Japan at the moment. CMLL says he’s been appointed a sports goodwill ambassador by the city of Ikeda. He’s due back in Mexico for the 12/18 Lucha Memes show.

AAA

AAA’s Facebook and YouTube still remain region restricted. There is still no listed update to the lawsuit in the court filings – no settlement but also no angry note from FMV about AAA continuing to violate their agreement. Three theories:

  1. AAA & FMV reached a small agreement regarding the TripleMania Regia FITE while they negotiate over the rest of the issues, but they haven’t reached a settlement so everything else. The status quo remains but at least they’re talking.
  2. Or AAA & FMV have essentially settled but there are a few details left remaining before it gets filed and everything beyond the PPV is just waiting for it to be finished (or there are some technical hurdles to get everything back working worldwide)
  3. Or AAA & FMV haven’t reached a settlement, AAA just ran a PPV anyway and FMV didn’t notice as they are never paying close attention to what AAA actually does

The third option is funniest though least likely. TripleMania Regia isn’t important enough for FITE to get dragged into a lawsuit. AAA ran a ladder match without telling anyone they were running a ladder match, so maybe two is a little bit more likely than one but I don’t know definitely which one. Honestly, I don’t care which answer it is as long as we quickly get to the stage where I don’t have to use a VPN to see stuff that’s being posted for free.

Other Notes

ROH added Dragon Lee versus Rey Horus to their Final Battle PPV on Saturday, which should be great. Bandido/Gresham is the main event. I believe Demonic Flamita is booked, so he’s likely in a 10 man “wild card” tag match to open the show with others who don’t have a space on the show airing in the free hour. The full PPV seems easily worth the $10, even if it didn’t have the “maybe last ever ROH show” bit hanging over the top of it.

IWRG (THU) 12/16/2021 Arena Naucalpan
Moreno Family 59th Anniversary show
1) Hell Boy & Rey Halcón vs Limbo & Shalom
2) Benga Lee, Diosa Quetzal, Noisy Boy vs Fly Warrior, Lolita, Satania
3) Aster Boy, Rasputín, Sick Boy vs Gran Pandemónium, Hijo Del Pandemónium, Pandemónium
4) Arez, Látigo, Toxin vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
5) Big Mami, Hijo del Alebrije, Niño Hamburguesa vs Big Boy, Big Chico Che, Big Mike
6) Hijo del Espectro Jr., Jessy Ventura, Psycho Clown vs Hijo de LA Park, LA Park, LA Park Jr.

This is a Mas Lucha Premium show, one of two IWRG shows they’ll have this month. I expected an apuesta match for this show, but they don’t really need it if they’re bringing in Psycho Clown and LA Park. That’ll be the biggest crowd IWRG has all year.

Mas Lucha’s En+Carados included a conversation with Diamante, talking about his success in Dragon Gate. It sounds like he’s going to be back in Mexico in December. When asked if there’s a Mexico promotion he’d like to join, he switched the conversation back to talking about winning the titles he said his primary goal is to win more titles in Dragon Gate.

Mas Lucha posted a schedule for the upcoming week, listing which shows will be airing. It’s very useful and I wish they would do this every week.

MLW announced they would be launching an “MLW Azteca” series in January. The actual story here is next Wednesday’s show will be MLW’s final new episode for 2021, and the matches they taped in Tijuana, will air starting January 6th. I’m not as sure if the outdoor matches are going to all air; the next taping is January 21st, they taped 9 matches inside, they probably don’t need much else. MLW is bringing them “MLW Azteca” to get a little more attention and to explain why the roster will be different than usual, but this is a concept that’ll probably only exist whenever they tape in Tijuana.

Jack Evans posted on Twitter that he was being extorted by the Del Valle Police Department, was going to stop paying the police, and believes he may be arrested for planted drugs soon.

Konnan Big is listed on a show on Sunday, so his retirement lasted less than three weeks.

RIOT announced Blake Christian as the first participant in their La Rina tournament, February 11 & 12.

Box y Lucha 3946 has Mistico & Averno on the cover and an obit for El Vikingo inside.

LuchaWorld has this week’s Lucha Report.

Demus is hosting a tattoo family.

5 thoughts to “Psycho Clown & LA Park coming to Naucalpan, CMLL early week results, packed Friday night lineup”

  1. Ugh, that finish to Lluvia vs Dark Silueta
    >This seems like one of those finishes where they’re trying to protect someone and everyone comes off worse.
Exactly this. It’s such a waste of the build-up, too.
One of the commentators said something about Lluvia being mad at the ref but not Silueta. That still doesn’t make much sense, but there you go.

  2. Adding on to the CMLL Guadalajara show – They usually upload a decently sized album of pictures of the show on Facebook. You know, on the Arena Coliseo Guadalajara page. No such album for this week’s episode! Just a few pics loosely posted here and there.
