Sanson fouled Caristico to set up a singles match next week
CMLL promos: Caristico, Soberano and Atlantis Jr, NGD, Templario. Templario talked about being 3-0 against Audaz.
Box Y Lucha interviews: Nitro & Ayden, Sanson, Shocker & Rey Bucanero (who want to be called the Super Guapos), and Caristico.
Caristico gets singles matches on back to back days. Audaz/Templario seems like the one match to watch. Templario is probably one of the best five guys in CMLL right now, as long as you don’t make me actually put together a list.
CMLL (TUE) 02/04/2020 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Guerrero de la Muerte & Ráfaga b Luminoso & Metatrón

5) Ángel de Oro, Diamante Azul, Niebla Roja DQ Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero
Rudos took fall 1/3, the last when Gran Guerrero tossed his mask to Diamante Azul for the DQ. That set up a singles match for next week.
There’s no other way to build up a feud in CMLL than a DQ (or should’ve been a DQ) finish. No one can actually just pin someone else to setup a match, there has to be something more to it. When a DQ is done in every feud, it has lost the meaning and everything feels the same.
CMLL Informa will have Felino, Universo 2000 Jr., Okumura, and Tsukushi. And probably more.
02/14 parajes increíble tournament (block a)
- Bandido & Ultimo Guerrero
- Diamante Azul & Gilbert el Boricua
- Caristico & Forastero
- Cavernario & Felino
- Dulce Gardenia & a person from Japan
CMLL had Okumura and Dulce Gardenia talk on Facebook about being a team in this tournament. Today, Ovaciones has it as Kawato San and Dulce Gardenia. I’d normally assume CMLL was correct but Ovaciones has been ahead of the game of late. They also throw in the Cavernario/Felino team as if it’s already been announced. It was news to me.
Laredo Kid told Diario Basta that Exatlaon helped him grow both professionally and personally. Laredo feels he has a lot more fans now, especially children, who watched him on the show, and he’s graduated to a new level of popularity. Personally, he’s been struggling since the death of his brother in 2018. His brother passed away in an accident and he’s been afraid something would happen again while he was in a different city or a different country. Laredo went four months without seeing his family, they’re fine, and it helped him get over those fears. Laredo said he had thoughts this wasn’t for him and getting back to wrestling after three weeks, but his teammates (Heliud & El Parejita) convinced him to stay, that he wouldn’t want to tell his family that he gave up. Laredo has said nothing can stop him in wrestling, and he couldn’t go back on that in reality show competition.
Laredo Kid says he’s going to take his time returning to avoid injuries, but he wants to get back to the success he was having and become the first double (Cruiserweight/Mega) champion in AAA. He’d also like to team with Penta & Fenix against Los Ingobernables.
Today’s the 36th Anniversary of El Santo’s death. El Hijo del Santo visited the statue of his father as he does every year and had a mini-press conference. It used to be a place to talk about big plans for the year, but it’s been more just a simple meeting in recent years as Hijo del Santo has wrestled as much. I haven’t watched the interviews, but those will turn up more tomorrow.
Vampiro’s social media indicates he’s back in Mexico. I thought perhaps that meant he was showing up on Saturday’s AAA TV taping, but he appears to have an autograph signing back in the US.
03/07 MexaWrestling in Monterrey’s Arena Femenil
- Golden Boy & Simbolo vs el Divo & Corazon de Barrio
- Metaleon vs Hijo del Espectro Jr.
- Charro Negro vs Principe de Aereo vs Baby Fox vs Puma de Oro vs Dulce Kanela – new
MLW announced the 03/13 show in Tijuana with EMW/AAA. No matches or AAA wrestlers are announced. It’s a safe bet there’s no AAA TV taping that weekend.
WWE officially announced Killer Kross has signed, which ends Kross’ time in AAA. That had been expected for a while, as soon as he left Impact. It’s hard to believe Kross was unaware he’d be going to WWE back in December, when he was part of the Faccion Ingobernables introduction.
LuchaWorld has the latest Lucha Report.
RIOT has a podcast talking about Saturday’s show.
SuperLuchas bemoans Arena Lopez Mateos & Arena Naucalpan not working to create young stars as they did in decades past. I think it’s also that if you’ve got the promise to be a young star. it’s now much more in your advantage to try to work everywhere to get noticed and those buildings want the people they’re going to push to prioritize working for them.
