8:30. Straight falls, the last when Euforia unmasked Caristico to set up a singles match.

Principe Diamante & Espiritu Negro are making mask match challenges, so that match is happening. Ephesto & Lucifierno helped Kawato talk about Dulce Gardenia, which seems to also be happening though maybe a little later. Caristico & Euforia set up a match for next week. Nothing to watch this week.

CMLL (TUE) 11/26/2019 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Frenético, Mr. Trueno, Rey Trueno b El Divino, Fantástico, Mr. Samurai
2) Johnny Dinamo, Principe Daniel, Retro b Difunto, Inquisidor, Yago

rudos took 1/3.
5) Cavernario, Negro Casas, Shocker b Ángel de Oro, Niebla Roja, Volador Jr.
Shocker’s return from injury (various). Rudos took 1/3, Casas sneaking in a foul on Volador JR.

The first week of the month looks stacked with singles match again. It is sad is stuck in that format. It’s unclear Mistico & Caristico as a tag team is any special draw, but having them win the tag titles and then not follow up on it with a bare minimum title defense is a missed chance.

CMLL’s annual bodybuilding contest took place this afternoon. The winners:

Angel del Amor trains the CMLL gym, though he doesn’t get booked much. He wrestled a couple of Arena Coliseo shows and one Guadalajara match last year, and nothing this year. Not sure if that’s better or worse than Astral getting booked a lot while doing nothing.

Dalys seemed the most disappointed of the other finalists over not winning. Sangre Imperial also stood out as being bummed about not winning his group. They appeared to let the wrestlers know backstage what place they had finished in their group (except for the final), which may have prevented any Pequeno Halcon style meltdowns this year.

Still no idea why Avispa Dorada is not wrestling, but she seemed to be in better shape than most anyone reading this. Or writing this, so it doesn’t seem like an injury. Fellow MIA luchador Rider was seen in the beginner group.

The long show included a tumbling demo by Ultimo Dragoncito’s students and a swordfighting exhibition as a cross-promotion for an event going on this weekend.

AAA’s Lucha Capital has its elimination round tonight on Facebook. It took me a long time staring at the poster to understand what was going on and it was a powerful moment when I finally grasped it.

  • last week, AAA listed Poder del Norte with two points and among the six men’s teams advancing. That was incorrect, they only had one win, the same as Argenis/Arez/Iguana. AAA is handling it by putting Argenis and Carta Brava Jr. in a play-in match.
  • The rest of the tournament matches are still 1v1v1 matches, though they’re now elimination.
    • Keyra vs La Hiedra vs Lady Shani, the winning person gets their team to the finals next week.
    • two more matches threeway matches out of Psycho Clown, Pagano, Puma King, Aerostar, Taurus and the winner of Brava/Argenis.
      • Maybe the winners face off as well, maybe they save that for next week.

That’s perhaps four matches, so expect at least one bonus match thrown in. If Argenis vs Carta Brava is not good, is it my fault for pointing out the math error? Oh no.

Marty Scurll announced he and Flip Gordon would face Bandido & Flamita on the 11/13 ROH PPV Final Battle PPV.

LuchaWorld has the latest Lucha Report.

There’s an El Santo double feature in Chicago on Tuesday, Santo’s first two films restored to 2K. This is a distance from me but I may try to make it.

Hijo del Santo told +LuchaTV he’d be open to returning to CMLL, a big leap of where he was even a couple of years ago. +Lucha’s podcast went more into this, saying there were talks between Santo & Paco Alonso before Alonso passed away and it is much less likely with the new management.

VIllano IV still wants a mask match with Atlantis or Ultimo Guerrero.

The Bolivian Cholitas have resumed wrestling shows after a hiatus due to the political unrest in the country.
