This is said to be slightly longer and slightly better than usual. I should understand better than whenever “Apocalipsis” is listed on the poster, they couldn’t fit “Rey” on there for whatever reason. The Mexico City Apocalipsis hasn’t appeared here in over two years.
One of the second-order of effects of Dalys winning all her matches is Reyna Isis and other rudas are going to have crazy win-loss records just for being along for the ride. If CMLL is ok with Dalys winning all the matches, they really should go with it more and play it up as an important deal.
CMLL typically silos their feuds, where the issues between the wrestlers are confined to that day of the week’s events. It can be silly when wrestlers who are tearing masks on Tuesdays are just part of a normal trios on Sunday, but it’s just one of the million things CMLL does for no other reason than they’ve done it that way for decades. There are exceptions to the policy when CMLL is in a hurry to get a feud over. That may be the case with the Angel de Oro/Felino feud, which from literally no feud to hair match challenges on Friday. They meet again tonight in the CMLL main event. Angel de Oro teams with his brother Niebla Roja and Caristico against Felino, Mephisto, and Cavernario. CMLL typically saves their next round of big matches for the 12/25, 01/01 and 01/06 holiday shows, so it’s not exactly clear why they’d be in a hurry to set something up right now. It’s unlikely we’ll get a date for the hair match here, though they will keep the feud moving.
The only other notable match is Espiritu Negro & Principe Diamante feuding in the tercera. Blue Panther, Pegasso, Raziel and Cancerbero surround those two principles, who seem to be moved a spot at least for the duration of this issue. That also seems to heading to a winter holiday show and they haven’t made the apuesta challenges.
The semimain has Kawato San teaming with Luciferno and Ephesto against Kraneo, Rey Cometa and Dulce Gardenia. Vangellys is in a lightning match for a second straight week against Vangellys. The segunda includes Halcon Suriano Jr. though also a rudo trio of Nitro, Hijo del Signo, and Espanto Junior. The other Apocalipsis is in the opener. The show streams at 7:30 pm.
Guadalajara has Mistico, Volador, and Valiente against NGD. No feud there.
I’ve been stalling at posting this because the Guerra de Titanes card could be out at any moment. There was a press conference scheduled for today, but it wasn’t exactly clear when today. It might show up on King Bulls Wrestling Facebook page first.
relevant PWG matches for their 12/20 show
- Aramis & Rey Horus vs Zachary Wentz & Dezmond Xavier in a non-title match
- Rey Fenix vs Jonathan Gresham
- Bandido vs Jeff Cobb (c) for the PWG World Title
That last one might say something about Bandido’s 2020 plans, though it is hard to imagine that won’t already be clear by ROH’s PPV a week earlier, if not sooner than that.
DTU announced Fenix & Penta for their Tulancingo show on 12/15, in addition to the previously announced 12/17 show in Arena Aficion.
Warrior Wrestling (outside of Chicago) put up the Soberano vs Templario match from their last show. They’re going to do a rematch on 12/13. It appeared Warrior wanted to do a six-way with Soberano, Templario, Taurus, Aerostar, Drago, and Rey Horus, but the CMLL guys understandably wanted not part of doing a match with AAA wrestlers.
IWRG’s big Anniversary show on 12/15 has tickets on sale. This is in celebration of the 57th year of the owning family promoting wrestling in Mexico State (which started long before they came up with the IWRG name.)
+LuchaTV has this week’s En+carados.
