straight falls, setting up a Mephisto/Niebla Roja title match
5) Carístico, Valiente, Volador Jr. b Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero
Tecnicos took 2/3. Mild tease of a title match.
I watched the first three matches live, was very bored, and decided not to watch the last two matches last night. I’m not looking forward to watching them later. It’s not an exciting time for CMLL. Mephisto & Niebla Roja doesn’t seem like a match that’ll bring that excitement.
A difference between AAA & CMLL is AAA goes away for times, giving breaks. CMLL just keeps going, and it is harder to get out of a rut when you’re just doing the same thing over and over again. Tonight’s CMLL main event has Caristico, Titan and Valiente against Negro Casas, Cavernario and Templario, which would seem promising if not crushed by the weight of recent boring shows.
Blue Panther teams with Rey Cometa, Guerrero Maya against Terrible, Rey Bucanero and Felino in the semi-main. Panther’s sons are teaming with Fuego in their seemingly eternal midcard match, this time against Polvora, Dark Magic and Disturbio. Esfinge takes on Vangellys in a lightning match exciting to none. There is a minis match and a segunda with the usual names. The show streams at 7:30 pm.
CMLL continues to advertise Angel de Oro, Niebla Roja and Diamante Azul against Los Guerreros for Guadalajara, despite knowing Diamante Azul was done for the year (injury) before the card was announced. x
CMLL announced Super Astro Jr., Principe Diamante, and Sonic for CMLL Informa. Those guys, especially Sonic, only get on that show when there’s a tournament coming; the CMLL Lightweight decision cibernetico is probably happening rather soon. CMLL’s done a poor job explaining why this is happening and it’s strange for it to be a high priority with Dragon Lee’s title still undecided.

Goddammit, Cubs! You are super down on CMLL. This is the most down I’ve ever read from you about the company. With good reason, mind you. But damn, I’m in the same place with CMLL too. Fuck the current guys running the ship. They need to get the fuck out of their bubbles quick.
CMLL is loaded with guys that have either been overexposed, or never given a real shot.
The reason it is so boring is the utter refusal to do anything different than the usual formula, and adherence to beyond stupid “unwritten rules”, like family members not facing each other, or kids not being able to be booked higher than their father.
The situation w/ Rush & Dragon Lee is a symptom, not the actual issue. Their absence has drawn attention to the issue and made things worse, but nothing would be any different if they were there. The current situation kinda reminds me of about a decade ago when there was a big exodus which ended up being the Perros going independent, and CMLL was able to reload by pushing Sombra & Volador to the moon. But this time, CMLL doesn’t have that quality waiting in the wings.
@SovietShooter
Today’s wrestling environment makes it difficult to keep talent.
CMLL is competing not only with AAA, but WWE, AEW, MLW, ROH, and IMPACT. Rush and Dragon Lee were meant to succeed abroad. And when you’re on the radar of Konnan, Court, Khan, etc……….you’ll lose talent.
The more market value a talent has the more likely he or she is to leave for greener pastures.
CMLL has amazing talent both young and veteran. Soberano, Barbaro, Hechy, Audaz, Mistico, Caristico, and Los Dinamita.
CMLL has little personality. One day I saw Shocker’s youtube channel. In one episode he goes to the chiropractor and is greeted by a young lady and he seems happy that she’s going to work on him. When he’s naked(only wearing a disposable robe) Villano IV and Ray Mendoza Jr come in to work on him. It was a Sabado Gigante skit but Shocker tries.
CMLL does not try to do anything interesting. Maybe a younger generation of thinkers will change that.
