2) Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito b Angelito, Shockercito, Último Dragóncito
Pierrothito replaced Peq. Nitro. Rudos took 1/3.
3) Blue Panther Jr., Guerrero Maya Jr., Stigma b Dark Magic, Raziel, Vangellys

4) Star Jr. b Rey Cometa, El Audaz, Dulce Gardenia, Black Panther, Pólvora, Virus, Disturbio, Universo 2000 Jr., Tiger [Rey del Inframundo, #1 Contenders]
elimination order: Universo 2000 Jr. (by Rey Cometa), Black Panther (Polvora), Disturbio (Dulce Gardenia), Tiger (Audaz), Dulce (Virus), Rey Cometa (Polvora), Polvora (Star Jr.), Audaz (Virus), Star Jr. (Virus) leaving Star Jr. as the winner. He faces Sanson on Friday.
5) Cuatrero, Forastero, Rey Bucanero b Soberano Jr., Stuka Jr., Valiente
straight falls, setting up Rey Bucanero challenging Stuka next week.
Star Jr. talks about his win, Rey Bucanero and Stuka hype their match.
The cibernetico was ok and maybe the best thing on the show. The following Tuesday show has been a Dia de Muertos show in the past; not doing one this year suggests even El Inframundo isn’t interested in Rey Bucanero versus Stuka in 2019.
Star Jr. facing Sanson is a better reward than last week’s trios match. He’s a long shot at dethroning the champion, yet it’s still another chance for him to stand out. Star Jr.’s new submission still needs some work (or a different move.)
CMLL (TUE) 10/29/2019 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [CMLL]
1) Fantástico, Luminoso, Reycko b Joker, Ráfaga, Sádico
tecnicos took 1/3
2) Akuma, Furia Roja, Hijo del Signo b Oro Jr., Príncipe Diamante, Vaquero Jr.
rudos took 2/3.
3) Esfinge, Fuego, Fugaz b Misterioso, Okumura, Sagrado

4) Atlantis, Kráneo, Volcano b Cavernario, Felino, Hechicero
Cavernario replaced Mr. Niebla (injury). Tecnicos took 2/3.
5) Ángel de Oro, Diamante Azul, Niebla Roja DQ Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero
tecnicos took 2/3, UG fouling Diamante Azul. Rematch for next week.
There was some mild Dia de Muertos themed outfits here. Not sure what Guadalajara did to get back to back Diamante Azul programs.
Marca has said they are airing Friday’s Dia de Muertos show. Last year, CMLL ran a rather disastrous iPPV where the video didn’t work at all early on and stuttered for most of the show. CMLL has not run an iPPV since, though they’ve kept some shows from airing live to not give them away for free.
Lucha Capital Week 3 is tonight. If you’re in the US or someplace else who hasn’t changed your clocks, the show starts one hour later than usual. (The easier version is it starts one hour after the AEW/NXT shows end.)
- women: Vanilla vs Keyra vs Lady Shani
- men: Mr. Iguana, Murder Clown, Carta Brava Jr., Pagano, Abismo Negro Jr., Octagón Jr., Bengala, Psycho Clown, Mamba in three triangle matches.
Murder Clown & Mamba are on the same team, so they should be drawn into different matches. We don’t have any idea about the other matches and will not until people walk out. This isn’t as strong a lineup as last week. Bengala without Ultimo Maldito is always an interesting experience. Pagano, in general, is an interesting experience. Still rooting for Abismo Negro Jr. to find his footing, and perhaps a different environment will work better for him.
Penta & Fenix fight SCU to determine the first-ever AEW Tag Team Champions tonight. The Lucha Brothers seem like slight favorites.
AAA officially announced TripleMania Regia, a December 1st show taking place at Monterrey’s baseball stadium. No card was announced beyond saying Kenny Omega will defend the title. Blue Demon, LA Park and his sons appeared, with a tease towards a mask match which is not actually happening. Pagano, Psycho Clown, and Lady Shani are also pictured. The Lucha Brothers are not, though that may mean nothing.
The concept is this has the TripleMania name and will as big as those shows, though the ticket prices and size of the building are scaled down. The TripleMania Regia tickets are on sale already, with the top price at 1000 Mexican Pesos and around 15,000 tickets available. The top price for TripleMania was 7000 pesos. Ticket price isn’t everything but expectations for what this should be kept in check accordingly; this seems set up to be more along the lines of a Rey de Reyes/Guerra de Titanes show. Those are still enjoyable, it’d just be unreasonable to expect a gigantic apuesta match at those prices.
Rush came up, though as a reason LA Park would not bet his mask against Blue Demon and someone he’d like to face on this show. LA Park also mentioned wanting to face Cain Velasquez, who was not announced for this show. It was left unclear if either would be on this show, though they’d seem to be more firmly announced if AAA knew they had them.
TripleMania Regia being done in partnership with the Sultanes de Monterrey baseball team, who own the stadium. There was a previous attempt to run the 20K seat building for wrestling with Alberto as the headliner, and it seemed to not draw well enough to work. Multimedios, AAA’s broadcaster in Monterrey, also appear to be involved. I believe this will air on Twitch as normal though it didn’t seem to come up.
AAA’s Ciudad Madero promoters still have Guerra de Titanes as taking place on December 14th. Dorian said the same date at the press conference, so I think the 12/13 date was just some confusion on Saturday. TripleMania Regia probably bumps off the never-officially-announced 11/30 Veracruz taping off the schedule.
Karis La Momia Jr. said his father, AAA’s La Parka, did not undergo a second surgery. El Hijo del Santo said Parka did yesterday, saying he had talked to Parka’s daughter. Karis says his father is instead resting, sedated and stable. Santo giving updates on Parka’s status has seemed surprising given the history there – Santo & AAA had a prolonged lawsuit that was ugly on both sides, though often the wrestlers get along even when the wrestlers don’t get along with the promotions. I tend to believe Karis, but it is concerning AAA hasn’t sent out an optimistic statement at this point.
AAA unveiled it’s annual Dia de Muertos altar yesterday.
Octagon Jr., Abismo Negro Jr., Dinastia and others are being sent to Ciudad Victoria to replace La Parka on that show.
SoloWrestling has an interview with Rush from the UK tour. Rush confirms the important material: he did go to see Joker during Heroes Inmortales. He gives it a solid recommendation. In more relevant news, Rush says he wanted to keep working with CMLL, could not come to an agreement with the new boss, and decided to leave. Rush says he felt stagnated in CMLL and winning the ROH title gave him confidence that he could stand on his own outside of CMLL. Rush’s original goal was to win the ROH title in two years and exceeded that, so he’s looking for more goals. Rush is open to returning to CMLL someday, but in a relationship where he had more control of the situation similar to Fenix & Penta in AAA. Rush is critical of CMLL for not taking using the NJPW & ROH relationship to bring in their big names. (I presumed NJPW people were just not interested in coming to CMLL, but the AAA/Omega bit makes it clearer NJPW people were just not interested in coming to CMLL for the price CMLL’s willing to offer.)
Rush is not interested in signing a deal. He does says he’s talked with Dorian Roldan & Konnan, have not reached an agreement, may yet for some dates, but didn’t leave one company to go join another. He’s working on a per date basis with Nacion and would be open to the same for AAA.
Rush mentions one of his goals with Ring of Honor is to improve his English. He didn’t think much on it when he first came, feeling his goals were all in Mexico anyway. That’s changed since he signed with ROH and he’s been working on improving this year. Rush is looking forward to the title match with PCO because he feels the crowd will cheer for the Canadian and he’ll be able to be a bit more of a rudo like in Mexico.
Rush feels CMLL did not treat Dragon Lee fairly, firing him in retaliation for Rush leaving. Rush says “three of the best companies in the world” want Dragon Lee to sign with him, though he will not make a decision until next year.
Rush’s “two year” goal seems to refer to his ROH contract. There was a shift a more or so back where what had previously referred to as Rush signing with ROH for a two-year deal became reported as just one; I think I noticed this in the WON first. There is room for confusion; some of the wrestlers ROH brought on late 2018/early 2019 were signed for two-year deals where the wrestlers got the option of leaving after year one. It’s not absolutely clear who has what deal, but I believe Rush’s deal has him signed thru 2020 with no option to leave earlier. Rush put up a tweet teasing an alliance with Kenny King for next year, which suggests he’s planning on being in ROH whatever his contract reads.
Rush and Los Ingobernables are listed as appearing both in Arena Lopez Mateos and Arena Queretaro tomorrow. It’s not possible to work both those shows unless one is delayed greatly or the match orders are shuffled; these venues are 2.5 hours apart. It reads as though Rush is working the Nacion/Queretaro date, though Lopes Mateos continues to promote him.
Alejandro Davila became the lead Tijuana Lucha Commissioner a couple of months back. The article mentioning that change – and the other changes in the boxing/lucha/MMA office – mentioned he’d be banning mixed matches without explaining what that meant. That’s followed up on today, with Davila saying men vs women matches are banned in Tijuana. He notes promoters aren’t happy with him about that rule, but the rule already existed, he’s just going to make sure it’s enforced. Davila doesn’t feel men hitting women should be any part of a show, feeling it just promotes violence against women. Fire and light tube spots are also banned, explained as for the safety of the fans. The enforcement is going to be the issue; EMW just ran a mixed match on their last show, The Crash runs them often, and AKE is a local hardcore promotion which uses light tubes.
A conference was held in Saltillo to create a (new) Coahuila set of laws for boxing and lucha libre. The article says this was mostly about improving medical conditions and creating a certification for coaches.
LuchaWorld has the latest news update.
Luchadors will be honored as part of a 5K/10K race in Mexico City on 11/10.
An interview with Acapulco’s Sexy Lim.
Lineups
NOBA , TWE (SAT) 11/02/2019 Arena San Juan Pantitlan, Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, Estado de México
1) Agorafobia III vs Optimus, Radioactivo, Crazy Thengu
2) Karma I, Karma II, Máscara Oriental vs Antar, Átomo, Misterik
3) La Heroína & Lunatik Fly vs Lady Cat & Sherkan and Sádika & Terremoto and Demencia & Sadik Maiden
4) Alas De Fuego, Aspiratito, Baxter, Kid Silver vs Centurion, Fulgor I, Fulgor II, Yoruba
5) Cerebro Negro & Fantasma de la Ópera vs Apolo Estrada Jr. & Toro Negro Jr.
6) Freelance vs Eterno, Sádico, Príncipe Aéreo
7) El Mesías vs Fresero Jr.
8) Penta 0M vs Toxin, Flamita, Último Maldito, Arkángel Divino
This is just a show with a lot of names, though some interesting match. Fresero getting Mesias is a good match for him. It is notable because Acapulco’s NOBA says they’re out of the PALL alliance of promotions, saying they’re going to be working with different people. Tijuana’s TWE was also part of that PALL group. They haven’t made an announcement, though the PALL logo doesn’t appear on their newest match promotion. Lucha Libre Boom is also listed on the poster; this is one of those shows with so many logos.
No one’s going to have a full count of how many Penta & Fenix matched worked because CageMatch and Wrestling-Data don’t go as deep into Mexico shows and I don’t do much with the US. Maybe I’ll get motivated at the end of the year to figure this out.
IWRG , AAA (SUN) 11/03/2019 Arena Naucalpan
1) Acero II, Nice Boy, Príncipe Jr. vs Bisofera, Especia Maligna, Voltar
2) Ángel Estrella Jr., Dinámico, Spider Fly vs Canival, Carnicero, Voltrex
3) Dany Victoria, Jefe Hacha, John Tito, Mission X, Payaxucho, Yuma vs Adrenalina, Canibal Jr., Dragón Fly, Guerrero Olímpico, Mardano, Mosca and Ángel Oriental Jr., Cadilac, Galactus, Güero Plma, Quetzal, Taurino and Atomic Star, Auzter, Chicanito, Death Metal, Kamicaze, Puma de Oro
Gym 23 de Junio (Tito) vs Gym Argentino (Mosca) vs Gym Zeus (Cadilac) vs Gym FILL (Chicanito)
4) Dinamic Black, Halcón Negro, Relámpago vs Cerebro Negro, Fantasma de la Ópera, Lunatik Xtreme
5) Diva Salvaje, Jessy Ventura, Pasion Cirrstal vs Stripper Big I, Stripper Big II, Stripper Big III
The main event team is just listed as “Stripper Big” with no idea what they are beyond that. It should be something. The four-way trainee match seems hectic.
