7) Demonio Infernal © DQ Fresero Jr. [IWRG Rey del Ring]
3rd defense. DQ for a foul.

The opening atomicos is getting a lot of attention for the innovative moves. They’re IWRG trainees (training under ex-Ninja Turtles Mike & Teelo) and the match is worth going out of your way to see.

MexaWrestling said they were hoping for 100-200 people, expecting a smaller turnout with cards focused more on new people, and were happy with how it turned out.

3rd defense. Fresero Jr. got involved, helping Canis win and letting him know about it.

Dragon Bane didn’t wrestle. He was at Arena Naucalpan – he appeared on the interview show they’ve been doing the last couple of months – so maybe he hasn’t been cleared to return yet. He is listed for the show this Wednesday.

Do you want another Forastero singles match? It’s happening anyway. Today’s CMLL show has the third Dinamita facing Mistico. He’s got recent losses against Volador, Caristico, and Cavernario. It’s unlikely this one is going to end with Forastero’s arm being raised. They’ve all been fine, nothing has been great, and Mistico isn’t the opponent to have a great match on a Monday night.

There’s a second singles match on the show: Star Jr. faces Perverso after a foul last week. Perverso seems like a guy destined to lose his hair to a Mexico City guy, Star Jr. is a Mexico City guy getting a sudden push, there’s a chance this could be going somewhere. Hopefully, this will be a good start to whatever they’re doing if they are doing.

Angel de Oro & Niebla Roja team up with Soberano against Ephesto, Mephisto and Negro Casas. The fourth match is a weird match with old men Mascara 2000, Olimpico and Okumura on one side against Dulce Gardenia, Flyer and Stigma. That could go badly. No Astro this week, but Halcon Suriano is back and teaming with Asturiano & Robin against Black Tiger, Fuerza Chicana, and Policeman. Magia Blanca, somehow now lower than Robin in the depth chart, teams with King Jaguar & Myer versus Ares, Centella Roja, and Joker. I’m still confused by Joker being a tecnico for one week under another name and then going back to his old name.

The show starts locally at 9 pm. If you are in the US, Japan, or any place else who did not change clocks this past week, the show is one hour later than usual. It’ll air on YouTube and it’ll be available on VOD if that new time is too late for you.

I was at the GALLI show last night. Fenix vs Gringo Loco is up on my YouTube channel. It was good, though not in the league of Fenix/Aeroboy from a year ago. The tough schedule the Lucha Brothers thrust upon themselves is adding up, in that Fenix is not going to have the energy to work these smaller shows as he did even twelve months ago. It is nice to see Fenix locally but it is hard to understand why he’s still working these matches or much of anything beyond AEW.

There are issues with the schedule beyond the performances. The latest Lucha Brothers booking issue popped up this weekend, with those two along with the Rebelion Amarilla crew announced for Ireland’s OTT the same day as they had been announced for AAW’s show in Chicago. Fenix & Penta are working in Europe that weekend, so it seemed likely they were not coming to Chicago. AAW first explained it the Lucha Brothers were elsewhere by AEW decision, then retracted that and said it was a Lucha Brothers double booking.

The OTT booking had its own controversy; the promotion announced Fenix, Penta, Bestia 666 and Rey Horus, then quietly listed MechaWolf along with them the next day. The UK/Ireland fanbase has been vocally against promotion using wrestlers with domestic violence allegations. It’s mostly come up in regards to Bram, and MechaWolf has a story as well. OTT knew the story well enough to pull the sleight of hand about booking him.

The AAA spot show in Guadalajara looks to have drawn a full house of 15,000. This was the show where wrestlers were wearing masks representing different Jalisco cities. It wasn’t a normal ticket selling deal – only people who wanted ringside or VIP tickets had to pay more than the general feed to get into the fair, I think – but it’s still a lot of people. There’s no results from that show, it’s just not that sort of show, but it still happened.

D Luxe (sometimes Deluxe, sometimes D’Luxe) was unmasked by Mr. Tempest on Arena Nacioanlista’s 30th Anniversary show. The match was a four way main event with Principe Negro Jr. & Estudiante Junior. D Luxe was the most recent fake Hijo de Rey Mysterio before giving up that gimmick in the last year. His real name is Angel Alejandro Garica, 30 years, 10 years a wrestler.

DTU Champion Crazy King suffered an elbow or forearm injury over the weekend. They’re examining it today and determining if he needs surgery.

Satanico celebrated his birthday on Saturday. Arena Coliseo Guadalajara’s Facebook post seems to imply he’s still part of the training staff there with Gran Cochisse coming on board.

CMLL posted photos from their participation in the Dia de Muertos parade.

Business Insider goes to a CMLL show.

Segunda Caida watches Wotan vs Fly Star & Dragon Bane & Canis Lupus vs Aramis & Impossible.

The annual Castle of Terror show, where the final match comes down to two people and a mask match which may or may not end in controversy. Death Metal & Angel Tormenta stand out as possible mask losers; both had short pushes earlier in the year. The Capo del Norte gimmick seems might be done. As the foreigner, Ave Rex would be a good candidate except he does wrestle masked in the US.

Penta & Fenix have a tag team tournament final on Wednesday, then come here to face the Traumas in a no rules match.

CMLL (SAT) 11/02/2019 Arena Coliseo
1) Aéreo & Fantasy vs Pequeño Olímpico & Pierrothito

6) Madness vs Kill Korton
7) Caifan vs Demonio del Aire
8) Arez © vs Aramis [RIOT CHAMP]

Full line. The UnAmericans will put their undefeated streak on the line. Chrisi Jaynes replacement hasn’t been announced yet. I can’t fly to Monterrey to see this one so I suspect it’ll take 9 months or so for it to be on pivotshare.

  1. I think Leo might also be a possibility. With the other turtles losing their masks and the feud with the evil turtles going nowhere, he might lose his too.

  2. Just saw the MexaWrestling atomicos match, and was entertained. Yes, they are all green, but I saw lots of potential. Now if only CMLL could have their trainees perform the same, or push the ones that could have that kind of match.
